What Sean Hannity has said over all this time is that Bush Jr was left with a deficit.. from the clinton ADM..
The deficit was 10 trillion when clinton took office.. From BUSH SR...  Clinton managed to get it down to 6 trillion.. so when he left office.. the remaining deficit that BUSH JR took over was still from his fathers legacy..
And remeber clinton.. ran the US under a republican.. house/congress.
I personally dont care.. But you wanted a fact so Iam giving you one..   Please dont PM me with this stuff because I dont live in the USA anymore.. thank god..

National Debt Graph: Bush Sets 50-Year Record

Double Whammy:   50-Year Record on Sept. 22.    $10 Trillion on Sept. 30, 2008.
The gross national debt compared to GDP (how rich we are) reached its lowest level since 1931 as Reagan took office. It skyrocketed for 12 years through Bush I. Clinton reversed it at a peak of 67%. Bush II crossed that line on Sept. 22 and hit 69% on Sept 30. That's the highest it's been since 1955 (53 years ago).
Bush did three things to skyrocket the debt from $5.7 trillion to $10 trillion:
1. He lowered taxes on the rich (by far the biggest item).
2. He invaded Iraq instead of winning in Afghan-Pakistan (another $600 B).
3. He loosened controls on Wall Street.

Sean Hannity is a liar? He's distorting the facts? I assume you can give a few good examples of this if you're going to make the accusation, right?  I doubt you can so you'll just say it's not worth your time, but I hope you'll at least try.

As for FOX being a Republican network, let me remind you all that every cable news channel is liberal. CNN is very liberal, have been since Turner launched it.
MSNBC, PA-LEASE! They're the ANTI-FOX channel, which is why they have absolutely no ratings at all.
PBS is extremely liberal with people like Moyer and that Woman who just hosted the debate last week. She has a pro Obama book coming out on inauguration day... Totally liberal.
The big three are liberal too. CBS (Which O'Reilly beat in ratings) is in the tank for Obama. Remember Dan Blather? Lied, actually lied about GW's service record. Never did any checking for validation, just ran the story 52 days before the Presidential election.
The cute little video with these little girls singing to Obama, guess what, the head of imploding NBC was behind all of that, along with a few of Hollywood's camera men. But yeah, NBC's top exec was behind it.
ABC is the least offensive of the big three, but still offensive.

Lying is never rewarded with success when all of your truths are easilly checked and verified by an intrested public. This is why FOX is beating MSNBC and CNN combined every night, night after night. O'Reilly goes after both parties, Hannity and Combs give you each political ideological position, there's no masking any of it. Hannity is the second most listened to talk show in all of America, second only to Rush. There's a reason for that and it ain't because the audiences are loony right wing nutjobs. Rather, most listeners are pretty affluent, hard working people who want to know what's going on.

FOX news channel is by far the best source of information you can find anywhere on the dial, the best source of getting both sides of an issue

I agree.. with HB..  You cannot get in the country with a felony on your record.. you have to wait 10 years and then go infront of a board and hope they pardon you, in order to get resident or citizen status..  SO once you are allready here it should be no different.. If you committ a crime you should be sent back. ..  That is what they told me.. When I got my perm resident card.. that even though I have no prior.. record.. If I get arrested of committ a felony under Canadian law they can deport me back to the usa..  I was like OMG.. And I do-not want to go back to the USA.. that would be a prison sentence in itself..

well, the latest gang shooting in Calgary was between 2 gangs from ottawa.  of course they are probably imigrants who went to ottawa before learning there is more cash here.  we should deport all criminals who are in the process of or have imigrated here in the last 2 years.  just kick them out.  no serving a sentance, send them home.  I know lots of imigrants who are decent hard working people, thats the ones we need to keep.

Good one...

And, d'ya remember recently...?  Some MP got in 'hot-water' for saying it like it is, but everyone has to be so PC these days that it's getting absurd.  He said, "Well, look around.  Most of the crimes being committed are not being committed by the kid who grew up next door."  Ouch.  But, it's kind of true...  more gangs in our cities that are not Canadian...

Can't even tell the truth these days.

I dont mind people doing all kinds of things, speaking what they want, but when I have to pay to have some damn govt form translated, thats crap.  if I have to fund their traditions, they must not mean much.  if it did, they would fund it.  and if their traditions include threatening the police with a machette, then get used to trial by glock.  otherwise, go somewhere beter.
with all the bitching their must be places beter.

Morning HB...  Sorry to hear of your plight last night.  Nyquil is too chemical for me...    (like to keep it natural) -- from a can (no shit).  Call me...

Just commenting on your 'please speak English' subject that touches on others that we deal with here in Canada where a lot of our laws have been 'modified', to accommodate other cultures -- which should be a good thing.  But, when 'guests' come to this country demanding and expecting us to change our ways for them, it turns into something else.

A few years ago, Australia caught all kinds of flak when the Prime Minister issued a statement that (loosely) said... (I've since lost the emailed speech in some pc crash, so maybe our Aussie friend's can chime in) ...

"This is our country, we will respect your cultures and religions, but you must respect ours first.  Basically, if you don't like it here, the way it is, another freedom we have -- is the right to leave."  lol...

Good Morning everyone!

Imagine, people getting tested before having kidz, or serving on a jury?  They'd be no kids and a back-log in the courts!  lol...

"Since light travels faster than sound, people appear bright until you hear them speak."(Don't know who said that, aside from my Grandpa...  but I always liked that one.)

All I know is, I *don't* want a carbon-tax imposed on us in this country... it is so very wrong.

And, I am just hoping that those to the south of us can vote smarter this time...  Obviously, things aren't working the way they should be under their current leadership, such as it is.

I guess people get what they deserve.  we will elect a new minority govt on tuesday, and will acomplish nothing.  there is no way to effect change, even if that were a goal of a govt with a minority.
yes, english would be nice.  I read that criminals in the states (and here too) have the right to have their trial translated into their own language.  OK, shouldnt be much of an issue.  then I read that 37 states employ translators for Klingon.  WTF?  what are the odds that someone who can speak Klingon a) found their way oyut of mommys basement to comit said crime, and b) doesnt speak english also?

All very valid points, HB. I agree with you. I realize it will not happen but it certainly should. I am also against drivers that cannot read the language of the realm. If you live here, speak English (how ever poorly) and read it as well.  As for credit, let's just say that I abhor it. I loath it. It is the single most common factor in financial destruction. I should probably stop as I will get on another rant.

I have made it a point to remain quiet regarding politics since my return. As we get closer to November, the rhetoric gets worse and facts become blurred by nonsense and pointless argument.

The truly unfortunate fact of the matter is the public at large are the "morons", not the candidiates. The political folks simply do what they do. It is really up to the people to think about what they are doing and cast a vote accordingly. Worse, the majority of the voting public would not know an issue from a tissue and would wipe their collective butts with it ( to borrow loosely from Lou Reed)

It has long been my opinion that NO ONE under thirty should be allowed to vote. (I realize the younger crowd on the Board are lighting the barbeque now to roast me) Quite frankly, EVERYONE should have to pass a civics exam prior to getting a voting card. The public, in general, have NO idea what they are doing, which is why the likes of an Obama or a Hillary get a chance in the first place. There, I said it.

The system is not going to change. The word change has been tossed about all election long, like there is suddenly this revelation among the population, courtesy of some clown campaigning for office, and they all suddenly 'get it' and will forge bravely into a new future. Bah!! Not going to happen. The change is NOT needed in government, it is needed in the public. That is where the problem is and will continue to be.

I must now agree with SOY.. ( OMG i thought i would never say that)

Now living in Canada I enjoy not having to deal with the day to riddles of these selfish people and thier lives, that are in politics in the USA..  Its to bad that they have choosen two DOLTS.. to have to plaster on television to decide who is going to run that crumbling country,

Iam sorry but sean Hannity has more secrets to hide than Obama or Mcain.. He twists facts, and only presents half of the stories, leaving out almost all of the real facts.. that of which can be found on any goverment website..

I feel sorry for the USA.. Its too bad that people listen to these talking heads to make thier political decsions for them.. instead of listening to thier own hearts.  and to do what is right by family and real life values.

thats it..
end of fucking list!

My dear, I am truly sorry for what you had to endure. Anyone that looks through my posts of years gone by will clearly see that I had always stood up and supported Darryn, even when he was at war with another dear friend of mine, JD. I even took the time to go into private e-mail with BOTH of them in an attempt to get two old friends to make amends. IT WAS FUTILE.

The Darryn Hellofs I knew was a mature, caring, successful businessman and loving husband and friend. He was intelligent and, though he and I did NOT see eye to eye on many things, I called him friend. I cannot tell you how much it hurts to think that he has fallen so far and become such a person. He was a VERY important person here on JP.com  back in the early years, and even helped me when I first came here and made a fool of myself by saying some very inappropriate things. He was a good man.

Unforunatley.. I have only a few things to say on this matter..   Darryn, is not the same person to all.. And he likes to screw around out here to get a rise out of people.. He  has assumed at least 6 different identities that I know of.. He pretends to be someone else and talks about him self...    To see what other people have to say about him..

The bottom line is people change.. Around the time I was having my problems with MR winnipeg warrior.. someone came out here under a presummed identiy of myself, and apparently said some things to other members on the board, which in turn the they  thought it was coming from me.. Hence one of the reasons I did not go to Vegas.. I feel its very immature of people to do this to other people Hence the reason I dont come out here that much any more.. If I wanted to deal with 2 year olds I would have one............ As far as Iam concerned he has lost all respect with many members .. to bad he cant be banned from here..  What was once a nice person has turned into a menace.
I see things in a different light, I could have been friends with Darryn , I thought we could have meet up b-4 the show.
But do to his Immature nature and the way he turned like someone with a split personality.. I will never let my guard down again..

Hugs to all those who have stood by mee.. I really appreciate youre friendship..

Thanks MG..

B.S. is clearly an understatement! IF it really is Darryn, it is absolutely ridiculous for a middle aged man of his stature to act in such a childish manner. I say IF because I do not know with certainty that it is Darryn who is doing this. My experiences with him have been dignified and honorable. I just cannot imagine what would possess a grown man to act this way...

As we here in the US endure yet another election season, I can only tell you that I grow more and more weary of it all. The word "change" seems to be the favorite this year and yet, I see so very little of it from either candidate. It is little wonder why there are more and more cynics!  Anyway, great to see you again BS. I have missed you.

The Monarchy is the Head of State. The PM is the Head of Government. The House of Lords, which acts and works with the Monarchy, is an advisory council.....and has superior power over the Head. We have a multi-party system that has two major parties. The Conservatives and the Labour Party. But at the end of the day.....it's still Lizzy that calls all the shots!

Hi Bloodsucker,

You pose a good point, for sure.  That's gotta suck having only two evils to pick from...

Here in Canada, we have the Green Party, PC's, Liberals, NDP, Bloc Quebecois... AND the Marijuana Party (although, for some strange reason they weren't invited to the national debate -- although, maybe they were but were too busy contemplating just going!    ... lol.)

Even with "all" the eligible choices, there's still nobody good to vote for!

What kind of set-up you folks got over there in the UK?  How many parties run in your elections?

The biggest challenge with the political system in the USA is the fact that you only have two major parties. Democratic and Republican. It only gives you one option when you're fed up and sick and tired of one or the other. So it's not essentially that you're voting for one party at election time. It's more of the scenario where you're voting against the other party. Which makes no sense. Because it's a yo-yo cycle every four or eight years. Republican, Democrat, Republic, Democrat. Back and forth. Over and over. And the people of your country 'settle' for this?

Hey Soy,
No, I don't think we have talked directly yet, so ...  "Hi! from the prairies..."

While I am grateful we don't have to deal with what seems like years for an election to take place like, um ... it does in a country to the south that shall go unnamed ... I would like a bit more time to make a choice!  A few weeks for such an important decision just doesn't seem like enough time.

Not to mention that, with a bit more time, we could actually start some of that relevant soap-opera stuff & gossip going on!  Might even make it interesting for a change...

So you are actually *going* to the debate?  Now that's dedication.  You're probably the most informed loonie in the country!    (Is it on t.v....?  Just curious which of my favourite programs are being pre-empted -- lol!)

Thanks for your post, this may (or may not) answer a question I have.  At the plant that I work at, I worked with a man who was recently terminated because his documentation was not proper.  I don't know when he and his family moved up here (from south of the border), but he had a really nice house and (I kid you not) 8 credit cards to boot.  I was born an American, served my country, worked hard, had hic-ups here and there with my credit (mostly because of medical bills and divorce agreements) and have never been fortunate enough to obtain a home loan (no, I am not a minority).  Yet someone can live here illegally and get these opportunities?  I don't know if one has anything to do with the other, but I am deeply disturbed by this.

That's why I just try to focus on the issues that most directly affect me and my own.  Every canidate has it's pluses and miuses.  It is a daunting task to filter through all the BS most of the time, so I try to narrow the issues to make it more personal to me and try to focus on that.  In my case, it's labor and domestic issues.  Yes, I do care about other issues as well, but I'm tired of the home-front playing second fiddles to global affairs.  The way I see it, how can we help others if we can't help ourselves.  We have way too many domestic problems that need to be addressed and resolved right now, our own issues need to take center stage.  All these billions upon billions of dollars being spent outside our borders is literally killing us and future generations to come.  We can not solve the worlds problems, and most of the world don't want us to anyway.  At what point do we tell some of these other countries to step up and help yourselves?  Why do we have to (in some cases) fight our own allies to push our (?) own agenda?

So Who’s really lying about Fannie and Freddie?

Speaker of the House, Nancy Pelosi, said today on the House floor that this whole mess we're in is the Republicans' fault. She blamed George Bush's economic policies for this financial problem we're having. This is important to know, dear reader, because you need to know the truth. You DESERVE to know the truth. And I can honestly say, if this was reversed and the Republicans were really to blame, I'd be sitting home this election.

But this isn't the case.

The mortgage crisis began actually in the Carter Administration. It's the result of liberalism, it truly is. Liberals believe it's unfair for some poor people to not own a home, minorities mainly, even though they clearly cannot afford one.
Under Bill Clinton, Washington passed a bill that actually forced lenders to give loans to people who could never pay them back. It was called affordable housing. Lending institutions were giving loans to people, in some instances, without ever verifying their ability to pay it back. Some other instances saw illegal aliens getting loans, I kid you not.
Attorney General, Janet Reno, threatened these institutions with legal actions if they failed to comply and give out these bad loans to people who clearly could never make the payments. And mind you, these are lending practices that under normal circumstances would never ever in a million years have taken place if it weren't for the Government. So, you know what this all really was? It was reparations to minorities!
It was affirmative action at it's finest. Pure, 100% liberalism.

It all makes sense to me now because I've been saying since the housing market dropped, you can't loan someone money to buy a 300K dollar home when they're only making 30K a year... with no down payment.  It common sense, Man!
But it was really the lending practices forced by the Government that caused this. Liberals tried to say it was predatory lending. The evil banking industry taking advantage of the innocent poor. HA! Now we know better.

Fannie and Freddie, under the control and direction of Franklin Raines, bought up all these toxic loans in an effort to give the appearance that Freddie and Fannie had much more value than was the truth. This is why Raines made almost 100 million dollars in bonuses over 7 years at F&F.
And as long as F&F kept donating to the Democratic party, the Democrats would keep covering up all the corruption as you are about to watch.
That's right, Clinton and the rest of the Democrats tried to solidify their constituency by guaranteeing them loans they could never pay back. In return, they got the votes. The kick backs went to Christopher Dodd, OBAMA, Jamie Gorelick, Barney Frank, Jim Johnson, Chuck Schumer, and a bunch of other Democrats.

George Bush urged Congress to act between 10 to 15 times to regulate this problem, but those attempts died in the halls of Congress. 2004 is when these hearings took place you're going to see, and pay attention... REPUBLICANS, not Democrats, are trying to regulate Fannie and Freddie because it's clearly evident what has been going on. These hearing are the reason why Franklin Raines got the boot, he was corrupt and got busted.

First video, Nancy Pelosi today blaming George Bush's economic policies and Republicans for the troubles in Fannie and Freddie, and the whole financial situation.

Now, here is what happened in 2004 when the hearings were taking place, and Republicans were calling for more regulations in an effort to stop this illegal activity from turning into the exact problems we're now facing.
And the Democrats are all saying Fannie and Freddie are just fine, doing a good job even... covering it all up. It's amazing to watch, it truly is.

And like I said a few days ago, this all, in total and in it's entirety, lays at the feet of liberal Democrats. Make no mistake about it, they are responsible.

It depends on what channel you watch? If you don't know don't guess!  T.V. media in general is to the Left, some programs, alot more to the Left, The View for one. Radio is to the Right, or middle and then some(O'Riley, who's ratings are tanking) But there isn't much for the middle, on t.v.? I'm just given ya a clue, not bashing ya, i know i'm more of a sports guy to.  Obama has been interviewed by O'Riely once. Name one or two on the Right that's interviewed him (OBAMA)? Palin has been interviewed by more then 4-5 on the Left news channels Katie Couric twice, Charlie Gibson another, OH YEA THE CRYPT KEEPER,LOL, Larry King. "Let me ask you a tough question, what's your favorite color?" HE'S TO HOLLYWOOD FOR ME (stares as guests). I don't care what hollyweird thinks, yet he thinks we do?

I dont hold much influence in elections, as I am in managment.  I was elected shop steward once, another steward told the business agent I didnt want to do it, so they bounced me, which, whatever.  here, diferent from the USA, the stewards and elected members dont make the call, the business agents and employees of the union do.

life is not fair.  expecting the media to be so is silly.
learn what you can on your own, base your decisions on that,  a past record is usualy a good indicator of future performance.
