Oh, man, too funny!!! "Listen homber" (vs. hombre!). Oh that Daffy!

REALLY sad that kids cannot see these in their full versions nowadays. My fav is Tex Avery. All the Woody Woodpeckers were banned until recently. Racism. Shooting someone in the face with a gun? What is the problem? No wonder kids don't find these classics funny anymore. If you can find them at all, they are so hacked that they make no sense!

[scorpion01] Thursday, March 05, 2009 4:04:32 PM

IT IS AMAZING. THE OTHER DAY I SAW A GUY ON THE SUBWAN IN MANHATTAN. DIDN'T KNOW HIM FROM A HOLE IN THE WALL, BUT HE HAD A PRIEST T-SHIRT ON. IT WAS LIKE WE ALREADY KNEW EACHOTHER. WE TALKED FOR ABOUT 20 MINUTES UNITL IT WAS HIS STOP AND HE WENT ON HIS WAY.

[kiamat] Thursday, March 05, 2009 2:14:43 PM
The way metal can bring people together never fails to amaze me. Many times I've found myself feeling closer and more friendly to people I've chatted to at gigs than the so-called 'friends' that I've known for years.
[scorpion01] Thursday, March 05, 2009 11:39:45 AM

GOOD AFTERNOON EVERYONE. LUNCH TIME!  FRESH AIR! TIME SQUARE!  I THINK I AM GOING TO TREAT MYSELF AND GO OUT AND TAKE A WALK FOR LUNCH TODAY.  TAKE THE IPOD AND LISTEN TO SOME PRIEST.

GOT IN TOUCH WITH SEVERAL FRIENDS I HAVENT SEEN IN 30 YEARS ON FACENOOK. IT WAS QUITE REFRESHING TO SEE MANY OF THEM STILL LISTEN TO METAL. AND IT MADE ME FEEL GOOD THAT SEVERAL OF THEM THANKED ME FOR TURNING THEM ON TO PRIEST. IT'S A BOND THAT NEVER GOES AWAY.

ALL HAIL THE METAL GODS
ALL HAIL THE FRIENDSHIP ON THIS BOARD

I so so so agree about JP being, for lack of a better word, therapeutic! It's really helped me whilst my husband has been away, it cheers me up and before I know it I'm singing along and having a grand old time, just listening to some really good heavy metal!

I can't imagine! I cried with horror once I realized the first plane that hit the Trade Center was no accident! Such senseless tragedies. All because of few fools in this world. The site of OKC in pictures let me feeling cold and sick, can't imagine seeing with my own eyes.
I remember when the space shuttle exploded. They enterupted my soaps to broadcast it and I was just sitting there thinking, big deal, another launch, and within seconds it was all over. So when years later, I got to watch a shuttle streak past Daytona Beach on it's way to the great beyond, I saw it as the miracle it really is! Life is just too easily lost. With every step, man teaters on the edge of disaster, and sometimes it happens.

Yeah.  It happened the day before my 33rd birthday.  Sis had just gotten out of the Navy, was living outside of Seattle, and was enjoying her first civilian job as a firefighter.  She flew in, we had plans to "celebrate".  Took her down the 21st, two days later, to see if they needed anymore help.  They had so much help they were turning folks away.  I will remember the way the city looked, and the feeling of the concussion that penetrated through to my bones.  And I lived 12 miles away from the site.

Bella is a fine name! For a fine dog! Nice there is another Bella comming up.

Oh my God! OKC? Oklaholma City? You were there? His sister lives in NC, wont say where, she changed her last name to avoid the crazies that wanted to make the whole family pay for the actions of her psycho brother.

I meant to tell you.  The owner of the sailing center lost his dog about six weeks ago.  Lilly.  She used to walk the marina with him everyday.  One of the sailboats in the fleet is her namesake.  I am told he brought a new puppy to the marina.  Her name is Bella.

I come across that way alot myself, but if something hits my buttons, I will cry like a baby! When the doctor told me about Bella as soon as I hung up the phone I was in hysterics and had to leave work immediately to go to her. I will tear up for years to come over her. When ever something just hits me out of the blue.

You're a good soul.  Sentimental is a good thing.  It's part of being human.

I'm not sure when exactly I learned to adapt, desensitize.  Think I had a coming to terms with mortality after seeing carnage in OKC.  I am very sentimental.  Grief is very personal to me and I express it in my own way, far away from others.  Publicly, I come off cold and uncaring.

I'm just too sentimental. I would be like Harley and want to save the chick from the snake too. It would do me no good to have to feed anything live to anything.
I once chastized my huskey Wendy for bringing home her prize catch of ground hog one day! She was proud I was sad and crying! She also fished and came home with some whopper fish, but that didn't bother me! LOL

[Bev] Tuesday, March 03, 2009 7:33:45 PM

My step-son lived for feeding days!  bring home tiny mice and watch the whole event.  Later, was at a friends house.  Harley was 6.  There was a little chick in their enclosure.  Needless to say, the python went hungry until they could get another chick ... lol  And we kept the chick for a couple of days 'til I convinced Harley it was part of the "circle of life"   and it was best that we feed the snake

I could have kept "Monty" when I finally found him, but I didn't really see me doing the feeding live animals thing to it, so straight back to the pet store he went.
He was absolutely charming, I just could not deal with the feeding aspect.

You know I once took a baby Royal Phython to school in my jacket pocket to pick Flora up and while I was there I asked the teacher if I could show him to the children, she looked like she was going to scream when I pulled that Phython out! She did let me show it to the children and let them pet it though. Soon after that "Monty" went back to the pet store because the only reason I had him is my idiot cousin had lost him in my house and I finally found him in the christmas tree. LOL

Evening all. It was suprisingly warm over here, which probably means we are about to hit the few weeks of blazing sunshine which occur every year around April and leave everyone predicting a hot summer- before it proceeds to rain until September. Still, not complaining at this point.
Guess whos 18 tomorrow? Oh yes...

GOOD MORNING EVERYONE. WELL NEW YORK CITY IS COVERED WITH SNOW. I WISH IT WOULD HAVE HAPPENED ON SATURDAY OR SUNDAY SO I COULD HAVE BEEN HOME AND HAD SOME FUN. NOTHING LIKE AN OUTDOOR FIRE DURING A SNOWFALL WITH A  CUP OF COFFEE (OR A LITTLE JACK DANIELS).
