 The new album confuses me.Like why do you never tour again but still make a new cd? I know Rob thinks writing songs and making cds is funner than touring which is great for us but?..Bands don't sell as many records anymore and make most of their $ on the road so I am confused.All the strange events of late with our band have us all confused.All I can do is sit and wait and be thankful for all the incredible music Priest has given us.

There is still time for K.K. to change his mind but either way there is going to be a studio album out next year. I highly doubt he will come back,but stranger things have happened.  K.K. will always be the heart of Priest's spirit but that doesn't mean the new album doesn't have a chance at being a classic itself even though it will not beat Sad Wings or Painkiller,I really think the new LP will stun alot of people,if its a dud we will all be butt hurt but I have a hunch it will be killer.

I'm sure that I will buy the next album even before I hear it, with or without K.K. Downing. I'm just a sucker for judas Priest I guess. Have all the albums and bought 2 copies of Nostradamus but their still unopened. LOL! Just didn't care for it so hope the new one will be better. Not that Nostradamus was bad or anything but just not one of my favorites. Just wonder if they have any material for the new album that K.K. Downing worked on before he left the band.

  I hope the next Priest cd (if they really do it) isn't anything like AOR (a bit boring IMO) but more the Painkiller style. This new guitar player Richie Faulkner could add the spark they need to pull it off. Look at the difference a young Scott Travis made on Painkiller. He probably didn't have anything to do with the songwriting but still made a huge difference. Also this Richie Faulkner looks like he's into classic metal. He may not be K.K. Downing but sounds pretty good to me.

Am I the only one here who is hoping more for a Stained Class type album rather than another Painkiller? Raw, crispy old-school metal with killer riffs, highly technical drumming and guitar solos that blow your mind, that's what I'd like to hear. I do agree that Painkiller is a magnificent album as well, but I've always liked the more classic Priest a slight bit more.

Yeah I hope your right HRMG,Hellrider made a point I thought about since I'm the biggest flip flopping member who can't make up his mind if I want a retro album or a blistering album,although he doesn't like Angel Of Retribution like the majority of us do,we did get that album which in my opinion is a style and a quality album that fits in the realm of Screaming For Vengeance and Defenders Of The Faith.

And they did get songs off their chest like Worth Fighting For and Angel, but it would be cool to get a more heart pounding album that fits in the realm of Painkiller if this is going to be the last Judas Priest studio album,so yeah lets hope we all get our asses kick here with 10 tracks of pure steel from England from the band that is capable of creating such an album!!! 

Thanks to Hellrider for guiding me in the right direction....I'm a huge black metal fan and I really havent thought about getting agression from Judas Priest since I get it from "old" black metal albums but yeah it would be cool to get my ass kicked when I put in a new and possibly final LP from my favorite band who influenced these black metal bands.  Hellrider has brainwashed me into it but its a valid brainwashing ha! Thanks Hellrider for putting up with me lol!

It's hard to keep the faith up at all times, especially when you have been disappointed before. But I believe that this time we will NOT be disappointed! They decided not to make Nostra their last album and they know exactly what we all want. I have no doubt in my mind that they can still do it and Rob's voice is still fantastic. I think they plan on going out with one last KILLER album, dedicated to HELLRIDER for his unwavering support!!! HELL YEAH!!

IT IS VERY DIFFICULT FOR ME TO FIGAUR OUT THE PERFECT COMBINATION.I TOTALLY LOVE HELLRIDER BUT IT IS NOT QUITE AS INTENSE AS THE MAGOR MAGORITY OF THE MIGHTY PAAAAAAAAAAAAAAINKILLLLLLLLLLLLER ALBUM

Having just listened to Demonizaaaaaahhhhh for the billionth time (DAMN, that CRAAAAACK at the beginning makes my whole house shake when I turn on the subwoofer), I agree 100%. That is just one wicked cut.

I also argue that Persecution off of Nostra follows the same sort of formula as the title track to Painkiller itself. Blistering guitars, vocals and DRUMS! While I have come to expect the first two, Scott is just a master on this one. Bashing the hell out of the skins throughout but really catches my attention at the end. 5:21 into the song, to be exact. Subtle little rolls start right there through the "persecute, you defy / crucify!"

Yeah, I know. Another post for the "1000 ways to know.." thread = when you rip apart a JP song to isolate the very second that makes you want to jump out of your metal skin!

I agree head banger. And Spa,Oh I wasn't trying to sell them short or anything so I wasn't being negative I do agree with what you are saying,I don't think Angel Of Retribution is "watered down" but Hellrider and other people do. As we know and have said before the band created AOR in the vien that fits into Screaming For Vengeance and Defenders and were trying to add some other elements.

Ian said that the bass riff for Revolution was written in 78' during the Hell Bent For Leather sessions and really the song has that kind of vibe to it but some people think its "nu" metal or weak sounding although I'll admit it's not a brilliant track but it does sound to me like it could of easily fit on the HBFL album. 

Demonizer and Hellrider could easily fit on the Painkiller album. I think that its hard for me to imagine an entire album in the vien of Painkiller,I think they would add songs in the style of Metal Gods,Some Heads Are Gonna Roll and Bloodstone too.

Of course if they made an entire albums worth of tracks like Painkiller that would RULE but If they made an album like Retribution but replace Revolution,Worth Fighting For,Angel and Lochness with 4 other tracks like Rapid Fire,All Guns Blazing,Freewheel Burning and Demonizer I would be happy.

I just don't think at 60 years old K.K. Glenn or Rob have the "anger" inside them to unleash something as powerful as Painkiller. Return to the old swagger of the 80's and early 90's is what its about. Painkiller, British Steel, SFV, Defenders,ect.
