I think this album is so-so. Lots of boring slow songs, which make me lose attention fast, but at the same time lots of great songs. The great songs are some of the greatest pieces of perfection JP ever made. I think they should have made a smaller album only which the good songs, that would have been better. But overall, good album.
But I agree with what bullet said: if there's one thing I absolutely love in priest is that, each album, they are a totally different band. And they are still good. They change style, without changing the quality. They don't try to live in the past, they surprise us with every new album.
If you like the new style or don't, it's a matter of personal taste. But fear not, next album they'll come with a totally different thing, that you may or may not like. |

| I have enjoyed every Priest album. Never once disliked a song. Nostradamus in my eyes is a masterpiece. It is epic as hell. I am glad that the Priest took it to a whole new level. Taking it to an "opratic" approach. Priest has always took metal in a new direction but in a good way. Good stuff! |

I just finished listening to Nostradamus the first time. I am completely stunned. This is certainly unlike anything Priest has done before. Its quite cerebal in some places, a far cry from the hard drivin', in your face heavey metal we're used to hearing. Having said that, I think that it is a very interesting album. Rock opera? Rock Symphony? Heavy metal? It sort of defies catoragization. Although its slow and plodding in some parts, I think that this is a excellent concept and a truly amazing effort by the band. |
