I was checking out my page on youtube and noticed something interesting about my video views.
Before I post anything let me stress that I do not consider Mushroomhead to be better than Judas Priest.
I was checking total views. I'm not going to list song titles just numbers. These videos were put up two
weeks apart.
Total counts for Priest- Total counts for Mushroomhead-
90 491
131 775
96 450
232 699
164 1212
1425
1095
Does this mean anything? (No) but it is pretty interesting. Mushroomhead isn't even big outside of Cleveland
yet their numbers crush Priest. Actually, I find this a little disturbing. Outside of this site Priest is losing their fanbase.
People aren't interested in them anymore it seems. Gund Arena holds 25,000 people yet Priest only had about 3000
people there. Even though I got ripped for saying it maybe they are picking the right time to do a final tour. This tour
had to lose money, at least for the promoters, so I don't think anyone would be all that eager to promote them in the future.
I'm so glad (and grateful) for their longevity but I'm not noticing a future for them. I hope the new album kicks ass, my
guess is that it may be the final one. Just an opinion, only matters to me.

In Ohio you can go to the library and access a database that list every cd that every library in the state has.
Just key in what you're looking for and it will show you what library it's at. You can then have it sent to your
library. Take it home and burn it. My recorder makes true copies so it sounds the same as a bought disc.
I don't believe there are any laws against this so it shouldn't be considered stealing.

based on currency conversion becks thats about the same price. 19.99=about 15.65usd
canada costs a little more than the states, but it varies.
england, when I went there everything looked cheap, do the actual math and it was all a rip off.
CD's were expensive when they first came out, like everything paying for the technology costs and production runs were smaller then. [Show/Hide Quoted Message](Quoting Message by Becks from Friday, January 06, 2012 10:52:43 PM)

Sometimes downloads help bands.

discovery and that sometimes leads to money in the form of concerts, tee's, or other band merchandise.
I haven't downloaded anything Priest except one video that I don't think is for sale anyway. If you
want it and it's out there take it. Eventually they will figure out a way to stop it so take it while you can.

Everyone is entitled to their opinions but I seriously doubt downloads are the reason for the ridiculous prices.
I remember the $6.50 concerts also. I also remember the prices going up year after year before there were downloads.
Inflation, GREED, and much higher costs, (fuel, venue costs, higher promoter fees, entertainment taxes, etc, etc.). I'm sure
downloads now figure into the equation but it's much more than just that. Because of their greed I have no problem taking
what I do and it doesn't bother me how people feel about it. Fans have been getting screwed for decades, why not screw back?
[Judas Priest / One For The Road] Saturday, January 07, 2012 2:18:25 AM
I remember when concerts were 6.50 and you could go to a ton of them, those were the days. Then when the illegal downloading started taking place tickets jumped like mad for live shows. So if you ever here anyone say wow 60 dollars for Priest or 149 dollars for Van Halen and Kool & The Gang, minga they are killing me with that!! Anyways when people complain about ticket prices, that's how acts get there money nowadays besides merchandise. So people shouldn't be wiener's if there stealing from the band. Have a nice day!!

yet their numbers crush Priest.

$19.99 for a CD?!? Dayum!
Now that I look back, I did that exact same thing when I first discovered 'Priest: illegaly downloaded their songs, bought the CD format when I had the money and erased the other ones. Once I downloaded all of JP's songs (and found out that it was illegal to do so), that was it.
I wasn't into to it at first either but I couldn't help but think of how many times I overpaid for CD's
because of greedy record companies. You may not remember but when CD's first came out
it was hard to find one under $19.99. I bought many of those. Then I think about how many times
I overpaid for concerts and concert tee's and now it doesn't bother me to take music. For me it's
like revenge.
Sometimes downloads help bands.
(Ex.)I downloaded the MRH catalog and now
I love those guys. I've bought all their CD's except the first one and I've seen them 9 times. The
downloads led to me spending money on them. So without downloads alot of bands wouldn't be
heard at all. Except for the rich no one can afford everything out there so downloads lead to
discovery and that sometimes leads to money in the form of concerts, tee's, or other band merchandise.
I haven't downloaded anything Priest except one video that I don't think is for sale anyway. If you
want it and it's out there take it. Eventually they will figure out a way to stop it so take it while you can.

I agree. Without illegal downloading, I wouldn't have found out about most of my favorite bands. The only bands of which I've bought CDs but haven't illegally downloaded their music first have been Uriah Heep and Deep Purple, because I got to know threm through my father. But Priest, Saxon, Scorpions (only a bit heard on radio), Accept, Railway; all of them I've first pirated, then at a later time I've started to buy their stuff to clear my conscience. And I most definitely wouldn't have gotten into them in the first place if it weren't for pirating.
By the way, I've 1 137 songs in my music library, of which probably about 85% are legally bought or bootlegs.
I wasn't into to it at first either but I couldn't help but think of how many times I overpaid for CD's

I think in the past Priest has been a Classic Metal band and as they got older I believe that when they went to preform maybe in 2000 to 2012 or made new albums like Angel of Retribution and Nostradamus to me they sounded Heavier. I'm guessing some people stick with Priest's Classic side and some might like Priest's Heavier side. But I respect every ones opinion and just hope that Judas Priest will have a future. capable of doing. Now with K.K. gone and them sounding different it's harder and harder for me
to get into them like I once did. Due to age the tempo of their music has slowed a little also.
There is a video of them from 1983 (Dortmund Festival). Search this out and watch and listen.
You'll see why it's hard for me now. I still love them if for no other reason than longevity and I
tell people all the time that I'm glad I picked Priest as a favorite band. I can think of only one band

I completely agree with you. I, too, happen to be quite young (20 and a half - will turn 21 in July - to be exact), but I've preferred older music for about a half of my life. When I first got into Priest only a little more than five years ago, I could've never guessed that one day they'd be my number one band. But now I've got their full discography, and I've hunted for bootlegs in search of more material for almost one year. While those times sound very short, I guarantee that I'm an absolute die-hard fan. Nothing I would've believed five years ago!
But I also have to side with Budred in that I do prefer older Priest over the current one. Maybe I wouldn't be so interested in them if it were only for their newer material. But I know that there's (sadly) no way to get back in time, so I respect what they're still doing, over 40 years after the beginning of their career. And even when they will eventually end their career, we can still always have the great memories from the past!

If I'm correct you must be in your early twenties. With the internet you can get there in no time.
It took me twenty five years. I've only had the aid of a computer for a little more than two years.
What sucks for me is trying to find stuff I don't have. I wish Jimmy's "Check This Out" thread would
have taken off. That was such an awesome idea and could turn all of us on to new stuff if more
would have contributed. Take care! [Show/Hide Quoted Message](Quoting Message by Vaillant 3.0 from Wednesday, January 04, 2012 11:42:32 PM)

I love your attitude and i'm glad there are people like you out there. You guys/gals will help
keep the legacy alive. I only feel the way I do because I've been listening to them for over 31
years but the last 10 have been a bit of a disappointment for me. I know what they were once
capable of doing.
I can think of only one band
from my youth that still sounds great and that's Megadeth. I just got their new disc and other than
the first track it sounds as good as the early stuff. Anyway, keep the faith. Peace!
Well, I am young, quite young and I actually haven't listened to all the Priest songs yet. Judas Priest has made a lot of songs and some people (in my generation) haven't listened to all their songs either. So it might take a some time as they get addicted to a song listen to it over and over then move on to the next song. They will eventually grow out of Priest and moved on but also might have passed it down to family and friends who are young. And all the young people that are new to Priest and Priest's songs will listen to their music that they've made in the past. Priest loses fans but also gets fans right there. I know its past music but it will seem new to the youngsters.
Judas Priest's history they've had members come and go. That might be the case when Priest members we have now leave or something. I really don't want Priest to die out and if that's where their heading I just wanted to say something positive to kinda say that Priest still has fans that are young and will hopefully carry on with the Faith even if its past music.
Personally I think the past is better because there was better artists. I don't know about other people, agree, don't agree, this is just my opinion..
Budred wrote:

and they definitely don't have the drawing power of years gone by. People are not patient for new music and they
will be passed by if they continue to draw this out so long in between records. I'm afraid that you and your generation
are only going to have the past to enjoy when it comes to Priest. Since Rob's return I've been stuck in the past. I call them
my favorite band but if the only thing I heard from them was what they've done since Demolition then I probably wouldn't be
much of a fan at all. I can't stay in the past when it comes to music, I choose to move forward.

I just realized I called it Gund Arena.(LOL)
It's Quicken Loans Arena (The Q) now, formerly Gund.

You make a good point, I didn't even consider that.
I couldn't tell you how many in Cleveland watched Thin Lizzy. I made it a point not to.
I said before that I hated them but I use that term loosely sometimes. I never have cared
for them though and I don't have a single song of theirs on my iPod out of nearly 12,000.
I never thought they were heavy and I didn't like Phil Lynott's voice at all. (I probably spelled
his name wrong). Anyway, take care man. [Show/Hide Quoted Message](Quoting Message by Head banger from Wednesday, January 04, 2012 8:10:55 AM)

I watched their whole set.... never again.

If it wasn't for Judas Priest Mettallica wouldn't be here. Lets see if Mr. Hetfield can belt out his own lyrics at 60, he's such a cry baby! Mettallica shot there load and re-load, don't even like them anymore they kinda suck now!!

Too true Vail. As for that comment mentioned below, just because a band/musician has had 'hits' doesn't mean their music is really any good *cough Katy Perry cough* lol.
Oooohhhhh. Is that what the fuss is all about? I've seen that before. Quite hilarious, really.
I hate reading those video comments on YouTube. Too many douchebags that love to type all kinds of messed up poop. It's best to ignore them, otherwise it's hard to enjoy the vid you want to watch. As for Metallica's little joke, there's nothing wrong with having a little fun every once in a while. Of course we know that Rob has the best screams ever and that JP creates the best music around. Why else would Metallica label them as one of their biggest influences?

The deed was done a few hours ago. In the afternoon, I climbed the ladder and threw the present up onto the roof of the garage while my nephew was out and about. The box rolled some but came to a stop . After all the presents under the tree were unwrapped, I announced that my nephew had one more gift, but that he had to find it. After a few minutes of "hot/cold", he finally saw it. He couldn't believe his eyes and was laughing his butt off (and so was the rest of the family). Miraculously, HE climbed up the ladder and got his present down using a broom, still laughing, and unwrapped it back inside, all without incident.
After tonight, my tiny family will go to sleep, wondering what ideas their sister/daughter/aunt has in mind for hiding next year's presents. Overall, I'd have to say that this little move was a success.

Now I am on pins and needles to see the picture. How the hell are you going to throw a present onto a roof? Is it flat? Aren't people going to notice when you disappear "mid present-opening?" I'm sure your cursing while said present is rolling off the roof for the 5th time will bring them out if the noise doesn't.
She said she doesn't want anyone in the hospital tonight. Also that we don't have any ladders tall enough to reach the edge.
She suggested instead to throw it up onto the roof of the garage, since it's shorter. Pictures tonight as I will throw it up there while everybody else is unwrapping presents.

He finally got it when someone gave him a University of Michigan present knowing that he was a diehard MSU fan. Too funny!

The look on his face was priceless.
Too bad I'm broke, or I would've done another prank this year.

HAAAA!!! I just thought of the hot/cold one off the top of my head.
Knowing the fear of heights, blend them. Play hot/cold and hide it on the roof! Best of both worlds!
Hmmm...all great suggestions. Maybe I'll just throw his present onto the roof of the house and have him grab it (he's afraid of heights). At least this year he'll actually earn his present!

I've seen heaps of videos on youtube of the Maury Show, it makes for illuminating viewing - 13 year olds having sex for double cheeseburgers and the like. Yuck, LOL!
This Wendy Williams show looks interesting.................I think, LOL!
Oh, THAT must suck! You don't know what you are missing. www.wendyshow.com/
As I said, I'd prefer Wendy O!

(slight clarification)
That Vince Neil comment, I was only referring to some of the chorus parts.
[Budred] Saturday, December 10, 2011 4:49:05 PM
That's a rockin' version of "Good Golly Miss Molly".
I hope you don't take this as an insult but that sounds a little Vince Neil(ish).
Do or have you guys done any Crue songs. City Boy Blues would be awesome.
If you're taking requests, I'd like to hear it.

I hope this is the correct video(s). If not give a title.
Glad to see that you're using a better camera. (much better quality video) Take care man, Peace!

Does that mean we're gonna have to spam the band messages thread everyday ala Hellrider?

OK Priest fans! So, sometime we are going to have to come off our concert buzz and actually start talking again.
After all, we all have to concentrate energy towards making sure Priest at LEAST go to Australia, if not New Zeland. Preferably BOTH! All Ausies and NZ'ers need to pour their energy into getting Priest downunder. Make some Noise people! Let's hit the messagages to the band site.

Added my two cents for sure LOL!
Not a day goes by where I don't hope and pray that Judas Priest comes here.
Maybe not that extreme! Heartfelt requests would be welcome though. There have to be downunder fans willing to put in their two cents. Hopefully.

I'm sure they'll eventually pop up one of these days, probably when JP begin their Japan tour next year.
