Don't think for a second that Priest retiring isn't a big deal to Rob. We saw Halford in Grand Rapids on Tuesday, the day of the announcement. Rob was down, he was not himself. I have no doubt in my heart that this is tearing him up inside because I know that Priest means the world to him. He put on a brave face as he always does, that's all.

We'll see you and Bev at at least one more show, if not more. We will give them the send off that they deserve!

Great to hear from you Ron

I wish I had taken more than three seconds to reflect when I posted my initial reaction to the very surprising news. It didn't seem the direction they were heading. I thought we'd get news of that they were going to hit the studio sometime in the new year.  So, it was a shock.

Happy Holidays! Looks like we all from the midwest to the midatlantic and northern states may be looking at a White Christmas this year.   After that, if it would just move on, I'd be happy about it. lol

Hi folks!!

I'm sorry to not have joined you since the news, but I have been sick to my stomach since finding out and once I got my bearings I've been reflecting.  One reason to not post was because I was a little upset with the way Rob handled an interview while in town a few days ago, acting like the Priest retiring was no big deal.

Anyway, I hold a lot of the same great memories as most of you.  I feel priviledged to have enjoyed them during their heyday.  They've been a part of my life since 1978-79 and I'm not sure where I'd be in life now without them.  Their words have given me direction and reason for pause at different times in my life and I still hold them close to my heart.

As they embark on their final journey, I thank them with all my heart and soul for everything they've given me.  I wish them nothing but the best and I will certainly say good-bye a couple of times during their tour.

I hope this site doesn't go down just because the band will be gone.  If it does, it will be another sad day as well as I've met some wonderful friends here.

Ron

Hey, Becks!! Hope you and Craig enjoy SoCal in May!!

After going to LA, San Diego, Las Vegas, and the Grand Canyon (cool place to visit, BTW), come and visit Sacramento. We will no longer have the Governator, but the capitol building is still cool.    [Show/Hide Quoted Message] (Quoting Message by Becks from Friday, December 10, 2010 11:07:24 PM)

The Last Crusade was good too...I like Temple of Doom - the kid from the Goonies was in it.

having never been to oz I dont know how the drivers there compare, but unless your off the main roads into some older area that you probably should never go to anyway, the LA roads are great and the drivers are much nicer than they are here.  people I know tell me that the wheel on the other side makes it easier.  being a pedestrian is harder, you look the wrong way before you cross.

My Dad went to Australia once and rented a car. He said he wish he hadn't bothered as when he would get to where he wanted to be he'd always be on the wrong side of the road and have to turn around. But, for the most part, US highways are simple. So you'll probably have no problems. I would have huge problems thinking backwards. lol

LOL Craig will be doing the driving, not me. I'm so absent minded I'd have to concentrate really hard, which would make me a grumpy driver hehe.

Just remember, we drive on the complete opposite side of the road here.  So think backwards. lol  The Grand Canyon I've never had a temptation to see. If I did I would be like Chevy Chase in Vacation.  Stop for 3 seconds and say, Hey that's nice! then get right back to the car. lol

Yeah unfortunately we have neither the money nor the time to see everything that we'd like to. We're going to Disneyland, Knotts Berry Farm, going to check out the Grand Canyon too we'll be driving a majority of the time too, LOL! A bit scared of that lol.

Wow, Temple of Doom was my most unfavorite. I loved the one with Sean Connery after that. Too funny. Indiana? We called the dog Indiana!
