Rise Against. That's a name I haven't heard since my high school years (i.e. not too long ago). I remember seeing one of their music videos on MTV 2 and thinking that it was pretty good...too bad I can't remember the name of the song. Van Halen w/Roth, Led Zeppelin, Eric Clapton(more for his guitar work than music). I've pretty much seen everyone else that I want to.
I saw some bands this weekend that I never saw before who surprised the crap out of me.
1. Skillet. A christian band of all things but they put on an awesome live show.
2. Five Finger Death Punch. I thought they were weak, WRONG!!! They are the new Pantera (live).
3. Halestorm. Not the greatest album but a very good, high energy show.
4. Rise Against. Very heavy performance.
I have seen alot of bands but realize it took me 32 years to do it. Oh' and a little cash(LOL).

I even watched them is that I was waiting in line to get my Halestorm CD signed and they were playing that stage.
Very entertaining show. As for 5 Finger Death Punch, I have listened to them but I really didn't care for their
music. They sounded so much better and heavier live. I bought tickets for Mayhem Festival yesterday because
of them and Rob Zombie. Rob put on a tremendous show. Very theatrical with the stage show and production.
His guitar player had one of the best solo's that I have seen since Eddie Van Halen or Yngwie Malmsteen. I
think his name is John 5. If anyone has any info on this guy please fill me in.

Led Zeppelin with the original band members would be awesome to see and Eric Clapton, no word to describe the talented blues guitarist, lol

HAAA!!! Are you kidding?! I went to school with him!
John Lowery. Local boy gone gold. He always was just a wicked musician playing many instruments even way back. He took off to LA with a buddy of mine (GREAT bass player) after high school and, obviously, you see the end-result. Amazing guitarist. He has a website that you can find with a simple google search.
Here is one of my fav tunes. Really nice guy but, wow, what a success story. Had I known, I would have told you to tell him Guido says hola! LOL!
Jimmyjames or Guido (or anyone).
Any info on John 5 that you guys may have could you please pass along.
I know a fair amount of people here are not into the same music that I am
but I highly recommend you guys check this dude out. Incredible guitar player.
I honestly can't remember the last time I heard a crowd cheer for a solo
like the crowd did this weekend. Everyone was roaring for this guy.

I made a mistake with that one. I had never heard of Whitesnake before I saw them.
After I saw them they changed their sound and some band members and I just thought Coverdale was
one of the new guys. I watched the video JimmyJames posted and he looked a little different than after Slide It In.
I was actually shocked to learn he was with them the entire time. [Show/Hide Quoted Message](Quoting Message by acolyte55 from Friday, May 28, 2010 1:57:08 PM)
