There are quite a few bands that I have not seen, mostly new metal. As far as who I want to see but haven't,
Van Halen w/Roth, Led Zeppelin, Eric Clapton(more for his guitar work than music). I've pretty much seen everyone else that I want to.
I saw some bands this weekend that I never saw before who surprised the crap out of me.
1. Skillet. A christian band of all things but they put on an awesome live show.
2. Five Finger Death Punch. I thought they were weak, WRONG!!! They are the new Pantera (live).
3. Halestorm. Not the greatest album but a very good, high energy show.
4. Rise Against. Very heavy performance.
I have seen alot of bands but realize it took me 32 years to do it. Oh' and a little cash(LOL). Pretty sure it would have been Coverdale, don't think anyone else has fronted that band. Here's some footage of them around that era.

1. Judas Priest (White Snake) (Iron Maiden) I981 Point of Entry Tour-Pittsburgh
...My first time seeing the Priest. Also pre-Dickenson Maiden and pre-Coverdale Whitesnake.
It was in a theater and all three bands were badass. Priest blew me away and I've been a fan
ever since.
2. Kiss (New England) 1979 Dynasty Tour-Pittsburgh
...I was 13 years old and I was seeing my favorite band. They were the biggest spectacle in rock
at the time. Gene breathing fire and spitting blood. Ace shooting fireworks out of his guitar.
The drumrisers. The fire and explosions. etc.etc...Very memorable experience.
3. Pink Floyd 1987 Momentary Lapse of Reason Tour-Cleveland Munincipal Stadium
...I managed a couple pieces of paper which made this the most (visual) experience I ever had at
a concert. This was the biggest production that I have ever seen live. It would take me too long to try to describe it.
They claimed it was their biggest touring production.
4. Metallica (Suicidal Tendencies) (Fight) 1994-Burgettstown,Pa.
...Probably the overall heaviest concert that I went to. I've seen Metallica 10 times and that was their best performance.
It was Suicidal Tendencies' last hurrah and they went out with a bang. Very good live performance.
And of course, Fight. They kicked ass also. I think because of the line-up all three bands went out of their way
to see how heavy they could be. Freakin' awesome concert.
5. Black Sabbath (Pantera) 1999 Re-union Tour-Pittsburgh
...I saw them two years earlier at Ozzfest but they had a different drummer. This was the first time with the original
line-up. Ozzy didn't sound too bad, probably his last decent tour (performance wise). Any way it was a dream of mine to see these
guys and I finally got to. Pantera kicked ass also. I had front row seats to top it all off. Very memorable experience. Edited at: Wednesday, May 26, 2010 7:03:42 AM |

Well, you must be very polite and humble to have gotten so many to be so nice to you (that's a compliment btw lol). Wow, That was really cool of Testament. I loved it when Lombardo was drumming for them. That guy is amazing. What he does with his feet.. But Scott is still my fav double bass dude lol. As for worst that's a little harder. I saw a band called Sad Cafe open for Rush on the Hemispheres tour that totally sucked.
Overall worst concert had to have been Saliva. They weren't (too) bad but it was a day long festival that had all suck ass
bands like Yellowcard and Saves the Day and shit like that. If you notice these bands aren't even on my list of bands

I have to update my list now. I just got back from Rock on the Range 2010 in Columbus, Ohio.
I got to check out 22 bands over two days. I saw a couple of bands that I thought would suck but
actually put on a great show. Skillet. If anyone wants to check out an interesting band live check these guys out.
I think they are a christian band (which I hate) but they were badass live. Also 5 Finger Death Punch.
I heard a couple of their songs and thought they were pussies. Wrong! One of the highlights of the show was those guys.
Very Pantera like live. Rob Zombie put on an amazing performance. Very theatrical and very heavy performance.
Lastly, Limp Bizkit. I know most here hate them and will laugh at this comment but I don't give a fuck. Awesome!
They were so fucking heavy and Wes Borland is a freaking beast on the guitar. After Rob Zombie I thought I just saw
the highlight of the festival. Wrong, Limp Bizkit killed it. The funny part was watching so many people leave before they played.
The hatred that man generates yet Limp Bizkit concerts are so heavy and so full of energy. I want to see them again so bad.
The haters will always despise Fred but if you get the chance, go see them this summer. I think some will be pleasantly
surprised. [Show/Hide Quoted Message] (Quoting Message by K2M from Monday, May 24, 2010 12:09:51 PM)

Cool. I am not a fan of the Peppers. I was trying to think about the opening bands that i cant remeber. I saw the Chilli Peppers in the early eighties open for Suicidal Tendencies. That was when there would be ten bands on the bill. |
