how so?  you think halford (band) is as good as priest or that him touring with halford couldnt cause friction?

yeah, but the best halford tracks are average priest tracks on most discs.  without Judas Priest, Rob is a great singer, with average material at best.

Yeah but Dio was "sick" and he came out and said it,and as we all know Dio was "very ill" and still the guy recorded "Metal Will Never Die" while undergoing treatments for cancer and if one of the band members are "ill" then what are they doing going out on tour that will last them well into 2012? Thats basically 2 years of touring!!!

And I'll buy the fact that Halford's solo project "may" be in the way yes but as for age in general....no way,Lemmy is 65 years old and has no plans to retire so why couldn't a 59 year old K.K. Downing release another last studio LP for his fans?  It all comes down to that obviously the fuckin band isn't "into it" but yet all of you guys are supposed to jump up and down and "get into it" while the band are "not into it"?? How does this make any sense? So basically the band are going to "take your hard earned $money"  so you can see them live while they themselves are not "really into it"??

They aren't into making another album but you who have been aching for one for 3 years now are supposed to keep your mouth shut, spend your cash on a ticket just to see them sway back and forth on stage pretending that they are having a good time. This isn't a cellebration of "metal" or the band, its a god damn funeral!!!

I've tapped my last bit of dirt onto the grave, said my goodbyes and will forever just shake my head at a band that was "supposed to be these MASTERS OF METAL" ......so where in the hell is this "metal"?? Nostradmus?Thats like AC/DC putting out thier last album as a country western album?

Priest releasing a watered down pile of opera isn't what millions of long time JUdas Priest fans had in fucking mind!  I'm now walking away from Judas Priest's grave site and back to the metal community.  "SIGH".  #1 let down in metal history Metallica. #2 letdown in metal history Iron Maiden. #3 letdown in metal histoy "Judas Priest". Case closed. Have an "inspireing new year".

I guess I shouldn't say  "nothing" because that first Halford cd had some pretty good classic metal swagger so I take that back. If he could produce a Halford cd with songs as good as Resurrection, Made In Hell, ect. then hey ...who needs Priest. lol

I agree, Rob Halford is nothing without Priest.

I was thinking about it today, and friction over Halford could well be the cause.  too bad because without Glen, Ian, Kk and whichever drummer he has never managed to come close to matching the work he does with priest.

You are probably right. We should feel lucky that they are going to tour one last time. I saw Dio August 2008 for the metal masters tour and he died 5/16/10. I hate to say it but anyone of them could drop dead at anytime.

Anyone who knows me knows I'm as heartbroken and disappointed as anyone about the 'big news'.  However, I believe in my heart that there are two reasons that JP is calling it quits.  I have no proof to offer to back what I believe, but I believe none the less...

1.  There are health issue(s).

2.  Rob's solo project(s).

They're not kids anymore.  They're teetering on 70 years old!!  It already takes them 3-5 years to put out an album and with Rob insisting on taking time to do his solo work, that adds a couple of years.  Those are very important years at that age group.  If there's health issues (remember the start of the last tour??), that's just too much time in between.

Being a part of JP is a full time job, not part-time.  If all 5 are not willing to put the time in, then I agree, what's the point.  Not having a record deal or not having new material are certainly NOT reasons for the end of JP, far from it.  Health and dedication are (IMHO) are why we are seeing the end the way we are seeing it.

A sad way to end the legacy of the greatest Heavy Metal band ever.

And this is what has "ruined" it for me HRMG,me and millions of others thats for sure. Be sure to watch thier stage persona as you if anybody could tell what they may be feeling. There is a difference between a fan like Hellrider and a "fanboy" loser like  tasnam1 who suck the band's balls when they are shafting the "true" fans.

Yes we have been "replaced" by trend fans who want to hear "the Best Of Judas Priest" live! They are not doing this for all of us here thats for sure and I think that fucking 'SUCKS"  This whole entire 2011 is tainted with this uninspired "tour".
One thing is for sure, with Maiden as progressive as they are and now with Priest hanging up the leathers, the torch has been passed onto Saxon,as they are the only british heavy metal band left that is worth a shit.

And Guido.....yeah if they are bending us over the least they could do is give us all a god damn reach around, not a wrap around as the way they have been slacking on "metal"  a wrap around may not be a good idea "HA!"

J.D. Diamond,

Nice of you to drag me into another one of your rants....BTW-You mention me in the same sentence as K.K.'s golf course.

The funny thing is this......I have actually been to Astbury Hall (His home & the courses name) with KK.
