Only thing that would suck is if a car hits you while you're walking in your hamster ball. All that endless bouncing and rolling!!

OK, there is a fix for the bike helmet comming in the next few years. It's an air bag that is rolled at the back of the neck and is activated by a sudden force.
Always there, but only visible when needed.

i know it is a bit of a drag at first but you get used to it.if that older gentleman i told you about way back that i used to see every morning riding to work a few years ago was wearing 1 he would not have cracked his head open (fractured skull)and died after the truck hit him pratically right across the street from where he lived.
NOW NO MORE EXCUSES ITS VERY IMPORTANT.

Oh, hell yeah! I knew that "blood curdling scream" all too well. I also distinctly remember my father giving full permission to my teachers to whack me upside the head if I ever got out of line with them.

Saddest thing? The big day that is almost upon us...Halloween. Really takes the "bite" out of a really cool night when kids now have to go trick-or-treating in broad daylight. How lame is THAT?

Sadly, while all this safety stuff may have saved lives it also seemed to lead to the overall collapse of "the neighborhood".
People don't trust anyone anymore. If a kid goes to another kid's house the parent has to know exactly where they are going to be. We used to use the neighborhood as our playground. We could be about anywhere, just 90 percent of the time NOT in people's homes but outdoors playing games.
These days you can't trust that when your child walks down the street and around the corner that they are still being looked after by your neighbors as well. Everybody knew where you were and what you were doing when I was a kid. I know, because if I did anything wrong, my Mom knew about it right before she would go make the dreaded "full name" call out and the ear spliting whistle. After that call, I had about 30 seconds to get home.

[guidogodoy] Wednesday, October 20, 2010 2:31:54 PM
So you'd probably frown on me having taken my baby brother to swim class one full summer while riding no-handed on my 10-speed with him on my shoulders, eh? LOL!! Hell, he sure developed a great grip and even survived to adulthood. Both a plus!

My father, at age 70, just started wearing a helmet while skiing. If I make it to that ripe old age and can still hit the slopes, I might just think about it. Until then, the wind in my hair while my boards (and bikes) jump the rocks!

(take all the previous from someone who once rode all the way from México to Michigan in the back window of his father's Oldsmobile).

Thing is, I do have one. It used to be a nice white color when I bought it in 2004. Now it's a nasty piss-yellow. Heh.

Of course, if I go out on my bike without a helmet, I know I'm going out there and risking my life. I mean, at least I'm riding in a small bike community and not in, say, Sacramento, or L.A. So yeah...I'm sure I'll have another thing comin', and if it does, then fine. My fault.

We'll see. Until then, something to make you laugh.

Brother Hellrider is right though Vail... I've seen some pretty nasty things happen to cyclists not wearing a helmet. I refuse to allow my kids on their bikes without one and I NEVER ride without one.. No matter how gay it makes me look.... Then again with the amount of riding I do I do the full on lycra shorts and dayglo pink shirt with yellow livestrong shades and matching helmet to stand out in the hopes that a car or truck wont decide to aim for me but... phew! Still every ride survived on these roads is a good ride for me ha ha ha ha ha!!!
Giro and Bell make pretty decent looking and comfortable helmets... PLEASE GET ONE YOU'RE WAY TOO SPECIAL TO GET HURT!!!

It could seriiously mean the difference between life and death.

Yes, something made me laugh earlier today.

I was on the road biking my way to class, and going in the opposite direction was a university bus. On the electronic marquee it said the name of the line, and then "Good Morning!" in capital letters.

It was funny, because it was two in the afternoon. Apparently somebody didn't drink their coffee.

Sin After Sin is a classic! I must post this video because it has the drummer from that album, Simon Phillips. This band is kind of a "guilty pleasure" of mine. I don't know why. No, I am not gay!

I never knew that Miley and the Jonas Bros sounded so much alike. That is the first time I have heard either and plan to keep it that way.

That Jonas Bros remake had some good metal "swagger!" BWHAAHAAAAA!!!!!

@ Steve...
That sh*t is funny. I thought Jonas was good until I watched Miley.

I totally agree with you Steve. I would love to see more Rob and less Metal God on stage personally. But when we saw them in Cincinnati last summer, I got exactly that. Glenn was posing for my husband so that he could get a good shot of him. I saw Rob look over at Glenn with a "What are you doing?" look on his face. Then I saw this little glint in his eye and he laughed and then he leaned in on the picture. After he did it, Rob just started chuckling to himself, quite pleased because he saw the flash go off and knew that we'd have a little gift in that shot. I watched the entire thing and was just laughing my ass off. Rob looked over at me and realized that I knew exactly what he had just done and he looked at me and nodded and laughed. So they do mess around, but it's mostly with each other and I'm not sure we as fans really notice it. I know that no one saw what happened here except for me and it's a moment that I will treasure forever. My husband had no clue that this had even happened until I told him and then found the picture on the camera in the parking lot after the show. Here is the shot:

If Judas Priest has a sense of humor, I wish they would show it off at the live shows. Lots of bands who you would think were the most serious band in the world show their humorous side during their concerts, like Rush and Genesis. This video is the Intro of the current Rush tour. Try to imagine Judas Priest doing something like this to open the show. I think it would be great!

Probably not one for the guitar tab library but:-

I knew one day my brother would catch me playing his guitar, which I often used to do whenever he was out of the house.

One day - I heard him coming throught the front door, come thundering up the stairs -

I handed him back his guitar, and he said to my surprise,

"Don't want you being better than me, do we".  I haven't touched a guitar from that day to this.

Damn straight! You and Spa are absolutely right about hospitals. When they did the inventory, they kept saying it was silver and that they would put it "in the safe." Riiiiiight. I insisted that it was chrome and could stay in a bag with my clothes to no avail.

The hospital here is a really scary thing. Word to the wise...get sick in a city with a REAL hospital!

I was like, surely they're not going to smash the little mouse, then thwack!!!
Then I saw the poor little thing gasping for air and I was like, aahhhhhh!!! Then he
started lifting the bar and all I could do was shake my head and smile.
That was funny.
