I forgot about that. holy fuck it got hot in there. if I was holding a plastic cup I swear it would have melted when the flames went off. luckily I had my rye and coke in a glass. ah the luxuries of box seats.

| just got back from maiden in vancouver, great show! except mr.dickinson apperantly asked for the a/c to be turned off!! was probably 40+ degrees and higher when the the flame cannons went off in the venue!! had great seats and good set list, highlite for me fear of the dark and the prisoner |

The kids bouncing on the bed was strange. I was like "Oh yeah thats great give the little kids nightmares." The girl commentator was the most annoying.
London, being one of my favorite places, I wanted to enjoy the Olympics more but I couldn't. Maybe the actual games will make up for it?
Go Germany, UK, Slovakia and my home.. Canada! :D

Still, I am comparing rolling up sod to China. Plus, the US coverage didn't help in the least. Commentators wouldn't shut up! Commercials left and right broke the mood. Especially when you have John Cleese in them. In short, many parts simply left me scratching my head asking WTF?
Too bad, as Danny Boyle has made some of my favorite movies. Culture sure played into it here but he really was all over the place. I felt sorry for the people in the stadium as you really needed to be watching it on TV to get most of the angles and have a slight view of all that was going on.
One man's opinion but it'll certainly set Brazil up next time 'round.

I actually thought that it was an extremely odd and rather lame opening. Tough coming after China but the nurses with kids bouncing around on the beds? I love Rowan but had no idea what he was doing there. Forging the Olympic rings?! That happened in the UK, eh? Music was a disaster, IMO.

| Yeah, They should've have played some Priest, Iron Maiden and some Ozzy. I was 100 percent sure they would play United but they didn't! Everything was amazing in the Opening except for the Music. They did play some good hits but they could have done way better. |

Yeah it was a bugger they missed out heavy metal in that music bit. I thought in general the opening ceremony was pretty cool, going through British history a bit, the forging of the olympic rings set during the industrial revolution was nifty. Mr Bean was hilarious and the Queens wee cameo with James Bond was cool! I liked the kiddy choirs at the start singing songs from each part of Great Britain, especially the Scottish kids singing Flower of Scotland, that has to be the best anthem/national song ever, love it.
