lol! No worries JT,and for the record..I am "whinning" about the Nostradamus album!! lol! Yeah it gets old,I get tired of myself
saying it too so you have a point!! I should just shut the hell up! lol! I'm "afraid" of the next Judas Priest album hows that? lol!! Well the "Christmas Comes For Everyone" track from the Winter Songs album sounds like it could of easily been slapped on side 1 of the Turbo album,as well as the "I Don't Care" track and the rest of the album sounds like Nostradamus left over tracks regardless they are all cover songs. I can't help to think that some of this material will leak into the next Judas Priest album and I sure hope I'm wrong. Priest is heading in the wrong direction with Nostradamus and Rob has given up his solo metal band for christian hymns not only with this record, but he is already planning on another christmas album next year.
Its hard to see them grinding out another in your face Painkiller/Angel Of Retribution type of an album now that Rob is sold on creating soft christmas carols each year and with Nostradamus under thier belts.
We may only get a "half & half" album of half heavy metal songs, and half experimental Turbo crossed with Winter Songs type of an album, that way they can try and please all the fans with a "compromise album".That would "suck"!! lol!! Who knows,I may be wrong here and I sure as hell hope that I am,I would "HATE" to be right in this case! Priest is guilty untill proven innocent!!!! J/K!!!!!

Pretty much all of Brave New World was good, a few fillar songs like at the end of the album. Overall very good though.
I enjoyed A Matter of Life and Death. I mean I BETTER haha, I only have the CD, a poster, and the long sleeve shirt haha. I enjoyed it.
The only thing it needed was a FAST song. Different Worlds wasn't it. | | J.D. DIAMOND wrote: | | Ok...I guess I can sort of get an idea why you like the album, most fans of the album say its Maiden's best work ever and that every single track on the album is a hit single and could be considered a best Maiden tune every one of them.I can see your point at least. With the "A Matter Of Life And Death" album as I've said many times before,I absolutely hate the first track "Different World" and the other track they first released "Benjamin Bragg"...those 2 songs are shit and those are the 2 songs they chose to release as singles and videos! The other 8 tracks on the album are decent Iron Maiden, not thier best work, but better than any album that came out after the 1984 "Powerslave" album by far in my opinion. | | Bazooka Joe wrote: | | There are some.... not good songs on it for sure haha. But the good ones make up for it.
Gates of Tomorrow
New Frontier
Face in the Sand
Age of Innocence
Those to me are the only songs that aren't really that great.
I dunno. I just really like it. Dance of Death, Journeyman, Paschendale, No More Lies, and you could throw in Montsegur. Those are definitly the best songs on it. | | J.D. DIAMOND wrote: | | It blows my mind away that there is a lot of people that actually "like" Dance Of Death album? I've tried many times to listen to it and its like Nostradamus to me,it gets worse with every listen! lol! I can't help it,but 90% of Iron Maiden fans like this album,I'm never going to be one of them Joe!! lol!
I think that Brave New World was half cool and half "lame". Dance Of Death to me is totally lame, and A Matter Of Life And Death may not be thier best album but is thier best effort since Powerslave in my book. | | Bazooka Joe wrote: | | Understandable. Maiden rip themselves off everytime they write a song, but people like it, I do, Maiden are amazing haha. I think even there last three albums since they got back together have been VERY good. Especially Dance of death. The song itself is one of the best they've ever written. | | JT_Small_Deadly_Space wrote: | | Unfortunately Maiden don't strike a chord with me, they use too many harmonies, all their songs are pretty much the same tempo and none of them differ from each other (i know that's their style and that's cool, if it aint broke don't try to fix it right?). I stand by what i say, Priest are the Metal Gods and i just overall prefer their music as it has the really hard edge that metal is all about. I don't have anything against Maiden and the crew though, i know how popular and more sucessful they are than Priest, well in the UK mainly.
And Hellrider, i listen to Priest all of the time in fact some people would say too much but i think you can never get enough of The Priest! (Quoting Message by Bazooka Joe from Thursday, October 22, 2009 10:11:59 PM)

OH Hellrider don't get me wrong i know what you're saying, i saw them this year in Manchester and Halford was on top form he was hitting the high notes all night long in fact they were so loud and high that the monitors couldn't really handle it they were crackling under the pressure HAHA! Yeah he still does the end of Painkiller fantastically well and i think he reserves himself a lot to do that at the end. I'm just saying that i think he can't sing it as well as he used to. The last 'awesome' version of Painkiller was when Halford was on the Crucible tour in 2002 i think it was and he still sang it superbly, even better than the 90's. I just think that it gets a bit much for him now. His screams are still perfect and i mean perfect and it seems you know too! When they were doing Metal Gods the line, 'better be the SLAAAAVEEEEEEEESSSSSSSSS!' Everyone just looked around at each other and were like whoa where did that come from and i just laughed (and gawped in pure disbelief), it gave me the shivers it was so high and perfect. Things like that just remind me why i love Priest and Halford so much. People can say that Dickinson is the best voice in metal but in my opinion he doesn't stand up to Halford especially for screams. I've never once heard Dickinson sing something that gives me the shivers, Halford has done it album after album to me. His best performance of a song to date is Victim of Changes, there is a video on youtube i'll try to find from this year's British Steel tour and it is perfect from start to finish. Well Hellrider another Painkiller album would of course be phenominal especially in these trying times for any classic heavy metal bands. The only factor i'm thinking about for the album though is the Metal God himself we know he can't sing Painkiller aswell as he used to and i'm trying to keep things realistic don't get me wrong his voice on Get into the Spirit is great and his screams are spot on perfect. Maybe we could get a Painkiller album with more of Robs usual melodic singing with some signature screams here and there for good measure. He could go it like Demonzier and sing all of the way through then at the end HE MELTS YOUR FACE WITH A SCREAMING RUSH OF POOOOWWWWWWERRRRR until we're nothing but a little pile on the floor. Hell yeah J.D i think it would be awesome after all British Steel was the bands claim to fame, and reliving classic hits along the lines of Grinder and Metal Gods it can't possibly be a bad thing! Well let's just hope that they follow through with the idea cause i've been thinking lately and i just want them to release some good old heavy metal. I know i love Nostradamus but it was too full of slow paced mid tempo and not very heavy songs, i want the Priest that i love the most and anything along the lines of British Steel to Angel of Retribution would do (with a couple of exceptions). Now another Defenders of the Faith would be awesome especially if they release an anthem as good as Heavy Duty which is possibly my favourite track on the album it's so damn heavy and Halfords vocals just tear me apart everytime.

Well I can say I'd definitly take Iron Maiden over the Halford bands work BUT I love both bands. They both have great music.
And the weird thing about Maiden, they do it because they love it. At this point, well, 20 years ago, they coulda retired and they'd still be as huge right now. Its ridiculous how famous and loyal there fans are. At this point they don't NEED to do anything. And you can tell on stage too, they love every second of being up there. That might just be what is needed and i second that Hellrider!

Make Maiden look like a wannabe band? Sorry but that is NEVER going to happen in any of our life times.
Maiden have gottan ridiculously huge on there own terms of music, performance, and recording music, without ANY radio air play or publicity whatsoever. Both sets of fans hate each other even though the bands play both equally great music. The only reason they booed Halford was because a lot of Maiden fans are elitist pigs (not all mind you so no offence to any here). Priest and Maiden don't gotogether so if you stick them in a room with each other the out come won't be so good. I certainly wouldn't boo Maiden but i wouldn't be overly excited to see them either cause that's just pure ignorance. Plus if it was just Halford band opening for Maiden my God they must have made Maiden look like like a wannabe band lol Halfords music is pure heavy metal through and through! | | hellrider 31038 wrote: | | i went to see THE METAL GOD open up for maiden on there brave new world tour in toronto 2000.THEY BOOED HIM.i left a couple minutes after maiden came on ENRAGED FULL OF ANGER | | Bazooka Joe wrote: | | Oh fuck no haha, its far from there best work for sure. Thats just crazy to say that.
No,it "shouldn't be" wishful thinking, but you never know.I agree with what you are saying. That formula and format would be
excellent for a new Judas Priest album and if the "song quality" turns out to be excellent tracks, then it would be unbeatable.
