Dead, I appreciate the fact you're pissed off about Necro leaving. But I for one had enough of his constant bitching and griping about the new CD. I respect the fact that he didn't like it, but like others here, I REFUSE to keep having to hear him bash Priest for the disc. Get over it already! Tons of people love or at least like, the Nostradamus CD. Hell, it even debuted in the Billboard Top 10 here in the US! I'm betting it'll had a similar debut in the UK and elsewhere.
I'm not the only one not to like it then...even tho i been a fan since '76...it IS possible to not like an album (and i agree about Turbo). And everyone who has driven my mate Necro away can kiss my ass!!! FFS it was only stating an opinion!

I really love the new album...and it was great to see the band performing some stuff of "nostradamus" live on stage in D�sseldorf" hope, the will do a show about the whole album soon...gooseskin...!!!

i am fan for more then 30 years but this time i was really surprised

Not only am i glad i bought the Album and have been listening to it non-stop...but i bought a ticket to their show at the Myth immediatly...a pretty small place...hopefully they can fit some giant robot thing in or something with the stairs and all!...that would be great to see up close for once!
ALTHOUGHT THE ALBUM WAS NICELY CREATED AND PROMOTED , IT IS NOT THE PRIEST OF OLD . I THINK THEY OWE US AN ALBUM THAT ROCKS !!! I HAVE PURCHASED THE ALBUM AND WILL BE GOING TO THE CONCERT , BUT THEY STILL OWE US ..........WHAT'S UP WITH THIS WEBSITE ? RESPECT POINTS ? THAT'S B.S..WHERE IS THE PRIEST OF OLD ?

I'm just GOBSMACKED by "Nostradamus"!!! It will take many, many listens to get into it properly but the pieces have already started to fall into place. My top three tracks at the moment are "Prophecy", "Revelations" and "The Future of Mankind" .

THE ANSWER - for all those still scratching their heads over the latest offering from JP is, I think, perhaps one caused by the of pacing on the album.
It is, after all, very very long, with some considerable mid-paced / ballad-y numbers. My advice is to edit it down to a slimmer, meaner & faster 80mins (single disc) version.
Select the following running order on to a CDR, or ipod playlist etc, and hear a much more familiar, agressive & traditional metal-esq sounding release.

2. Prophecy
3. Awakening
4. Revelations
5. Sands of Time
6. Pestilence & plague
7. Death
8. Peace
9. Conquest
10. Persecution
11. Alone
12. Shadows in the flame
13. Visions
14. Calm before the storm
15. Nostradamus
16. Future of mankind
Now, I know there will be many out there screaming (for vengeance) that this is sacriledge & not how the album is intended to be listened to, but, then they are already the converted, and what we are trying to do here is get as many people on board as possible. I myself, do find the whole double disc a rather flabby affair, I'm sorry to say, and do actually prefer the above edited version which I find is a far pacier & exciting listen - much more what I was hoping for.
I see it as something similar to the cinema release versions of the Lord Of The Rings films, as opposed to their much weightier Director's cut DVDs.
As for the missing tracks, well once you've grown to love the above you can re-incert them later, or visit them individually & see how they shape up having acclimatized yourself to this new world of the metal gods.

Judas Priest: Nostradamus
This is a very interesting album and the concept is perfection. Nostradamus' pain and suffering were not in vain, he was a great man and will live on forever. The loss of his child and wife are permanently etched in the minds of millions and his purpose not forgotten. The warning he posted to humanity was clear and brilliant, a message to the future for the salvation of humanity. His writings include many such intellectually brilliant pieces such as the decryption of the "Code of the Bible" where he wrote of one significant number that explains the true meaning of the book, and what it means to society. The war he predicted is occurring at this time, freedom is at hand from the scurge of the selfish ones. the millions are rejoicing from his single act of sacrifice, his wonderful spirit, and the unconceraable love he expressed for his family and humanity. An unshakable faith that he will be repaid for, even though when making the ultimate sacrifice, he was not aware he would be saved from the abyss of darkness. The fear is gone and dread erased, the war machine passed from haters to the lovers of life.
Congradulations to Judas Priest for this revelation, a piece that will be celebrated for some time to come, an amazing album. I was so stunned to see it, now I must go to the concert.
I appreciate all of the hard work that went into its creation, and look forward to the completion of Nostradomus.

As a long time Judas Priest fan I must say that I agree with you. There is no shame in admitting that you don't like an album and just because you don't like an album or two, doesn't mean that your not a fan of the band. There is only one other Judas Priest album that turned me off as much as this album and that was Turbo. I've never been a fan of that type of guitar sound and I'm still not. I like raw power, I'm not looking for another painkiller, etc. but I think that Judas Priest should stay with what they know best. Oh yea it's always good to expand your horizons, but without the sound that they produced on Nostradamus. Well, I'll wait for the next album! Priest however, will always remain my favorite no matter what they put out.

So far I'm delighted with "Nostradamus". Priest have always had a lot of variety on their albums, but this is their most diverse so far. The only song I haven't taken to yet is "Exiled"...
