Absolutely Angelic Storm,absolutely. I agree 100%. I think if anything...Rob coming out of the closet has made Judas Priest more popular,but as you've said....
nobody really cares about Rob's personal lifestyle. He is the Metal God and we are all proud of him the way he is. You gotta love that guy!!!!!!!! Rob rulz!!!

| well... when metal was at its peak they were not the most popular (dunno why) and most people didnt know he was gay. I dont know anyone who cares now. |

IMO ... it's a wash. The fairweather friends & fans that didn't like this aspect of Rob's nature left ... and were quickly replaced. Loyalty runs steadfast and deep for the truly faithful! Being popular means nothing to a true metalhead, and I think it's never meant a whole helluva lot to 'Priest either!

| i would have to say if the METAL GOD was not gay ALL the MAJOR MAJOR MAJOR CONTRIBUTIONS TO HEAVY MEEETTTT TTTTAAAALLLLL THE METAL GOD ROB HALFORD gave would not have happened because he would be a completely different person than the one we all know and love so much.his thoughts and ideas would all be different. .so in other words i would have to say HEAVY METAL wouldn,t even exsist in my opinion |

To be fair...MP was just "asking a question"........well, in my opinion I don't think Priest would be "more popular" if Rob was "straight".
If anything....him being gay probably made the band "more popular" now,because you have people who don't know that much about
Judas Priest and some may make that connection that "Isn't that the band with a gay singer"? So it may have made them more
popular than ever before. But they definately would not be "more popular" if Rob wasn't Gay. I don't know why people out there
have a problem with "gay people"(and I'm not saying that forum member "MP" has a problem with gay people just to clear that up)
but it really baffles me. There was a dweeb on the Saxon forum a while back that is an Iron Maiden "fanboy" and he was bashing
Rob saying rude childish comments towards Rob's sexual preference and the Saxon Administrator "banned his account"...just like that!
Too bad we don't have that Administrator in here....Murray does a killer job,but a moderator would take care of stupid people.
But nonetheless...the whole Saxon forum members trashed this dickhead before he was banned. But going back to Rob.....
This guy should be proud(and he is)of who he is and one word describes him best....."CLASS".

Halford's being gay has NOTHING to do with it!! Absolutely NO ONE ON THIS PLANET can hold a candle to him as a man or as a singer!! Most people don't even mention it and when others do talk about it, they say, "Who cares? He's the BEST!" When Rob returned to Priest, people crammed into the shows welcoming the return of the METAL GOD. I just think they are too complex and the lyrics are too deep for the masses to get. The general public likes things simple - songs with few words so they can remember it and lots of repitition. Priest continues to change, album after album, and most people don't like change.
It makes me VERY sad that there are actually tickets available to the Florida show that's being taped for DVD release...... other bands would have sold out the second it was announced! They should have taped it in Detroit - we had an AWESOME turnout!!
