Hey, we have alot of freedoms here, such as the ability so say what we like, within reason, to talk about anyway we like as long as we don't aim foul words at someone else, if we do and the members find it rude it will be deleted, but it's just outlandish childishness to ban someone for speaking about another band. GOOD morning, kiddies!!!!!!!!!!! What an absolutely INCREDIBLE day I had yesterday!!!!! WOW! I know I mentioned that we went into the studio to record a demo..well, what an experience. I have recorded many times but THIS was by FAR my most remarkable! The place was unbelievable!!! We arrived just as CARMINE APPICE was completing some work!!!! (Yes! THAT Carmine!) This place was just awesome! Not only was Carmine and King Cobra working there, Five Finger Death Punch had just finished and I believe he said Sublime had been in for some tracks.

I think more than 90% of us Spa, (even including my mother), as we ( ) went to the theatre last night. It was a very good show, its called 'Mad about the Musicals' and I've seen it before, probably not the sort of thing you should be doing on Good Friday but, hey, whatever.
Anyhow, if I can sit through the family Easter dinner without murdering some of my relatives then I may have earned my way back in- if not... Hell may be worth it.
But enough of that- how is everyone? I haven't been around, been bogged down in work and essays (still am). Hope you all have a good weekend and some time off!

It is nice, I'm kind of surprised it's not a compulsory day off over there considering the US is far more religious (in general) than NZ is. Mind you, different country, different 'rules' and what not

Must be nice to have Good Friday as a compulsory holiday. I've never had the luxury of having that day off. As a matter of fact I only get 6 paid holidays a year.

Unbelieveable! We've had nothing but rain or snow for forever now, and we finally get two days with no rain and really nice temperatures, and the national weather services issues a "severe weather alert" for the possiblity of brushfires. What??? my yard isn't even completely dried out yet at all!!
So help me! If I hear the local weather man say "we really need the rain folks" ANYTIME in the next month I'm carting a sack of water ballons to the local station and pelting him with them! Rant over.

Now what is really sad, is when they interview a West Virginian, (state nextdoor to me) the media always go out of their way to find some ignorant fool with no teeth who is sporting a ball cap that says "God, Gun, Guts, and Glory" . Hey HB! How about putting the kids into "bands" of five and have them come up with a band name of their own? They can draw their first album cover, and come up with titles for their first 8-10 songs. Then there can be a vote between each band's album covers/songs. The first three bands with the most votes will win a prize. From then on each band will have that album cover as a representation of all the band members.
Or how about a costume contest? Give them guidelines on how to look metal and give some examples (like Rob Halford wearing denim and leather  ) before they begin. The band with the best HM costumes will win a prize, and each band can get a group photo while wearing their outfits.
For the hike, you can scatter envelopes, each containing the name of a specific famous Heavy Metal band, all over the trail before the actual hike. When a band finds an envelope, you can tell the whole troupe its history and the role it played in the development of the genre. Play them a song from that band on a portable stereo when the hike continues until the next envelope is found. For a sport, make it a "battle of the bands". Any sport will suffice.The two bands with the most wins will face-off in a "metal festival" of sorts, where the losing teams can pick their favorite band and cheer them on, thus becoming fans of the best HM bands around (heheh). The winning band will earn the title of "Heavy Metal Legends" or something like that.

Absolutely amazing considering Lucas is out! Summers and Green have seriously stepped up their game. The thing that concerns me is their passing, especially in traffic in the paint. They need to just shoot the damn ball! Can you believe some people are saying that Prince didn't foul Morgan at the end of the game?? OK, when you report that he got "mostly ball" that implies he also got something else now doesn't it? And that something else was his ARM! No matter what happens, we are all happy in East Lansing - Final Four 2 years in a row ! Izzo is freakin' awesome!

What about camping on a ball field with a small stage riser borrowed from the school, and bring some speakers, and have a Guitar Hero Match off. Kids know all aoubt it and are good at it. I suck at it, and loose in the practice stage, but that would be a place to start. Sure you thought of it before.
Or, you could go to Melee combat in the woods with paintball or fake Medieval weapons, and blast Some cool Heavy Metal Music while they play?? Sounds like fun to me, and the music would drown out the sounds of footsteps sneaking up on them, they would have to be Really alert. LOL

Since MY Alma Mater did not make the "dance" this year, I have adopted State as my "stand-in" school!! HA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am just thrilled for you, man! Awe Guido, we are cursed my friend!! LOL Didn't stop my family from loading up the soon to be grandson with all sorts of infant Cubbie gear LOL We just keeping passing this on from generation to generation!! My daughter still has a Cubs Batgirl Barbie!! Complete with uniform except she wears shorts instead of pants!!

Ya know though, one of the reasons we watch sports in general is to be 'there' in the moment when our team wins!! Trust me when I tell ya that the WORLD will know if / when my Cubbies ever win as I won't stop celebrating for a month!!! Really glad you got to see them win for ya!!

A wonderful weekend to one and all!! Hope you are all well. Beautiful here in Vegas! Warm, sunny yet a bit windy. The pollen and dust really cause problems here in the spring. Ah but we sally forth!
The Princess and I are laying low for the wekeend. STILL fighting that bug and it has affected her far, far worse. She ended up in the first stages of pneumonia and I have been rather busy tending to her. She has an awful cough! (*Smokers!! Take heed!!) Anyway, I still have a bit of a cough myself and this darn "frog in my throat". What a pain in the butt! All of this seems to take whatever energy I have so it is sort of a good thing that we are not going to leave the house for a couple days.
BIG fight in the UFC tonight!!!!!! GSP goes up against the "Mouth" from across the pond!! HA!!!!!!!!!!!! For those of you that do not follow UFC, GSP is George St. Pierre, a GREAT Canadian fighter. The aforementioned "Mouth" is a wisenheimer from England named Hardy. He is a strange fellow but has been beating up folks rather convincingly. However, I do believe tonight he will fall. This canNuck is just too skilled! And so I leave you to your weekend! I will, of course, try to "pop in" here and there just to see what lunacy is afoot. |

Wow Becks! That is just horrible! Poor little guy and with added stress of Dad being away and Mom having to move house with all that going on. My sympathies to the family. The thing is with kids that the minor falls are mostly the worst ones. It's sort of the same in cycling. If you fall at high speeds most of the time you come away with far less injuries than when you fall while going slowly. Most of the bone breakages come from the slower tumbles.
I can't imagine having to be in a full body cast at my age so I really feel for him being so young and having to go through this.

Nice picture Freeze. Ya know, if you photoshoped some horns on you in that picture they wouldn't look out of place with that expression your sporting. lol

HA!!!!!!!!!!! Thank you!!! Yeah, we managed to get through it. I cannot lift heavy objects so I ended up wrapping cable and whatnot. We have a gigantic PA system and I could not handle that! Lots of equipment for such a little band!!

Yes, it did. We had to avoid a couple songs from our normal set and I just did what I could with the rest. It was certainly not my "A" game but we got through it.
