Good morning Blah dwellers.
Phew! hectic weekend. A good one but busy one. I forfeited an important race so that I could take my kids to a birthday party.. Gotta say, as much as I needed to do the race, the kids party was a blast! I am so unfit for the race in two weeks that I have decided to give up stressing about it and just concentrate on finishing it. Next year I'll be back in top form again (I hope).
Spent some time with my friends son on Saturday and he is holding up pretty well considering. He was having a good time with the younger kids (he's 15). We were laughing and he is so much like his mom it is uncanny, same sense of humor, same full of life personality. We both miss her but we both have to live our lives. It's what she would want for us.
I've got my boy home 'sick' today. Got to school and he decided he had tummy ache so had to come home. Dr appointment in half an hour and if he's faking.. well if he's faking he's pretty good at it so I'll high five him lol.

While she had a little bit of a southern twang to her voice I would have never guess Sissy! Cool!
Reading a bit further...Sissy Spacek was the voice of Anne Uumellmahaye? HAAAA!!!! Never would have guessed.

Morning everyone, the start of a new week here. I dropped Craig off in camp as he is in the field this week, so bar the fact his sister is here till tomorrow, I have the house to myself for a while, LOL! Just been for a run - Painkiller is an awesome album to run to and the mens ice hockey final is on tv here soon, so I'll watch that

Good (early) Morning to you all!!! Funny but, I was up late last night and did not think to stop in here and chat. It would appear that you all had quite the lively time! Well, it is NASCAR Day here in Vegas! All the lunatics are in town and the track is a madhouse. I have seen so many characters in stores and around town these last two days! HA!!!!!!!!!!
I believe the Princess is sending her two boys (Prince Ryan and Prince Jaden) to the big race today. I have to drop them off downtown on my way to practice. Apparently, there is some kind of shuttle service that takes these maniacs to and from the track today. *yeesh* Anyhoo, I will be out all day for a marathon band practice as we prepare for our first gig this coming Friday. We will be at it ALL day so I shall not "see" you wonderful people until this evening, provided I am actually able to move and type! HA!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Looking at a good eight hours of rehearsing our show. We want every detail to be right. It truly amazes me how detail-oriented these guys are. Every song, every move, every small detail is rehearsed over and over. Amazing. Too bad the music is so "crappy"....HAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!
Sort of a "dream come true" for me to have this particular band. I really enjoyed the other guys but this band is really special. They are SO into what they do and really hard workers. I was told that we will be doing gigs in the surrounding states as well!! Arizona, Utah and California are in our very near future!! Now THAT will be interesting. Fifty years old and "Living the Life"..... HA!!!!!!!!!!!!! I will, of course, keep you all updated. Who knows? We may be coming to a site near YOU!!!!!!!!!!!

Just had to look him up, Spa. ==> Paul Benedict.
Look at entries #28 & 32. Didn't realize he did a voiceover in "The Lonely Guy" (31). It also had some pretty funny moments.

DAMN STRAIGHT!!!
Spa: it sure is Bentley. They even tried to make a spinoff of the Jeffersons with him called, oddly enough, "Bentley." I don't think it made it past the pilot.
Maple: WAY cool! I don't think I've ever seen that one. [Show/Hide Quoted Message](Quoting Message by hellrider 31038 from Saturday, February 27, 2010 8:56:11 PM)

Vail, I just watched the South Park episode where they find the guy frozen in ice all of 32 months! Funny as hell. Remember THAT? If so, Cartman makes a reference to this movie when Stan and Kyle are digging up the "Ice man" (Steve!). He lowers the rope and starts talking about Sandra Dee. It is Olivia Newton-John from this movie.
Ah, how sad not to be able to catch these cultural references....LOL!!!

Danny DeVito. Marilu Henner. Tony Danza, Christopher LLoyd (wonderful), Andy Kaufman (Man on the Moon?), Judd Hirsch (just saw Independence Day, for that matter). Yeah, I was a fan. But, oh, those summmmmmer niiiiiiights!

Cuando empezábamos a comprar canicas para nuestra pecera mi mamá me hablaba de su niñez en Guerrero, cuando ella era la campeona del juego en su pueblo. Nah, I wouldn't be so cruel. In a nutshell, sweeping can change both the speed and "curl" of the stone. Look at a shot after an opponent "takes out" a rock. A sweeper often will start sweeping the other's rock to get them out of the "house" or target.Speeds it up, iow.
As for strategy, you'll often see what I am watching now: throwing "guards" that will be in front of the target / house. They can try to "curl" around them or hit them head-on to take them out. When I refer to the yelling, it is usually the person / "skip" who threw the rock and is watching the line or trajectory of the shot rock and is shouting at the sweepers to do one thing or another. Sweep with more pressure, less, not at all, etc.
So, when are we going to play?

Yeah, I was actually wondering about that. What is the point with the brooms?? Do they actually have an affect on the stone?? If so, what?

See? Becoming a convert! NOTHING like playing it.
10 "ends" (like bowling). The sweepers can get the rock to speed up, slow down or "curl" one direction or another. I prefer watching the women. They scream more! Even better was in the past when they actually used brooms instead of these new swiffers. Wonder if they clean floors too?

The band is Breaking Dawn. They are fairly well-established here in the Vegas scene and I am a GREAT fit for their style. We are doing a mixture of Classic and more modern Rock. I am having a GREAT time!! They are serious musicians and work very hard!!! Looks like things are going to be heating up!! Anyway, you all can expect more of my "crappy" music very soon. idea. You don't want to get stuck in a rut.

Morning everyone. The start of a very busy day here, getting sorted to head up north for the weekend - it's my mums 50th birthday party tomorrow, which my cousin and I basically got bullied in to organising, i.e. I got a text message from my mum saying 'I WANT A PARTY!!!!' So I'm a little stressed right now LOL! Just hoping everything goes smoothly!
Hope you are all having a good day!

I had croup for ages last year, it's bloody awful, sudden coughing fits that you can't shake, which also means you can't breathe. Horrible. Last night, ok early hours of the morning (1: 50am) my daughter woke up hot as hell and choking. She panicked and ran around the bedroom like she'd been set on fire or something. In a daze, worked out she couldn't breathe because she'd had a croupe cough attack. She was screaming in a panic and it took a while to calm her, get a room steamed up to open her throat and then slow her heartbeat down. When we got the lights on her face was blue/yellow so she obvioulsy was not getting enough air in and the hysterical crying was not helping her at all. Neither did the flaming fever help the situation. So we got her some meds and had a restless time until the alarm went off. By the time she woke up for school she didn't even remember what happened. Probably a good thing but scary as hell for us!
[joedraper] Monday, February 22, 2010 10:36:47 AM
Yeah it was pretty scary. I even felt a bit worried putting her down tonight but she's in our bed so we can keep two sets of beady eyes on her lol. We prepped her earlier and said to her if it happens again tonight to try remember that we steamed her and that helped so that she doesn't freak out when we take her into the steamy bathroom.. Lets hope it was a one off thing. [Show/Hide Quoted Message](Quoting Message by HOT ROCKIN' METAL GODDESS from Monday, February 22, 2010 7:43:05 AM)

Thats what I'm saying Meltdown.....sure by having the fans pay $30.00 bucks may keep out the shit disturbers thats an interesting thought but that may not work....I'm sure the retarded idiot from Winnipeg would gladly pay $30.00 bucks for this site to keep stiring up shit I'm almost 100% positive he would lol! So by that thought and what you are saying even if it did keep out the shit disturbers why would I want to pay 30 bucks to talk about Priest here? I would leave the forum forever if Judas Priest charged us to be here, fuck off to Iron Maiden and thier lame forum.
