About queensryche... well I think people mut be more open-minded (if that's the way they say it in english). It is not fair to call it a failure before seeing something of that show, or hear something what they're going to perform.
And I believe it must be hard for artist to do every year the same kind of music, or at least boring. It doesn't have to be metal ALL the time... don't get me wrong I'm a true fan of metal, I love everything about this music... but some artists are not afraid to explore other styles. Ok, maybe cabaret is too far away from metal, but I don't think those guys really think about that, they must be interest only in giving a good show, so let's open our minds and see, before throwing rocks at it. Plus I believe Queensryche never was a 'static' band, you can always expect something different from those guys.
And about Goeff loosing it, well Yes obviuosly, he is 50.. People get old. Do you think Rob sings the same way than when he was 25?, or Ronnie James sings the same way either?.. Yes, they do a better job than Geoff (I'm not comparing them) but you cannot expect people to sing the same way forever. I just mention them, because they are my favourite vocalists .
Well it's just my opinion. Plus, maybe reading 'Goeff Tate', with the words 'lust' and 'naughty fun' was simply too much for me LOL
So, how's everything over here? I missed you all Edited at: Saturday, October 17, 2009 3:48:09 PM Edited at: Saturday, October 17, 2009 3:48:33 PM |

Ladies and Gentleman and “kids” of only adult ages, welcome to what promises to be the spectacle of all spectacles better known as the Queensryche Cabaret.
A fun-filled evening like no other full of freaks and shrieks.
What good is sitting alone in your room?
Come hear the music play.
Taste the wine and swing from a vine in a place that’s only eclipsed by the echo in your mind.
It’ll be Geoff Tate, Scott Rockenfield, Michael Wilton, Eddie Jackson and Parker Lundgren performing a show-of-shows with a bunch of their friends who have a tendency to only come out late at night.
The Queensryche Cabaret will be art, lust, dancing and naughty fun with the band performing their hits and never-heard-before selections accompanied by Go-Go dancers, burlesque dancers, drag queens, a juggler, ballet dancer, aerial artist, contortionist and much more.
Sit back and enjoy the music and theatrics or be a part of the stage show!
Audience members will have an opportunity to participate… but prior written consent will be required as it won’t be for the faint of heart.
It’ll be sights and sounds coming at you from all angles like never before!
See some evil, hear some evil, speak some evil and have some fun.
Be prepared… be very prepared.

Now the musical version of Mindcrime doesn't surprise me one bit since it was obvious to me that Geoff wants to be on Broadway based on that MindCrime 2 DVD. As far as Geoff losing it, YES he has actually. I just saw them in May, and his voice was horrible. Listen to any of the clips from the US tour and he sounds horrible in all of them. They even pulled Take Hold of The Flame from the setlist, probably because he can't sing it anymore. People complained about his voice in the first couple shows and they pulled the song.

The notice I received says that it is at the Snoqualmie Casino, FEBRUARY 4-5. They couldn't pay me enough to go see this joke of a show. I went to their last tour and they were horrible. This thing doesn't really surprise me at all, especially if you saw the MindCrime 2 DVD. Geoff has gone over the edge, period. Freakin' Go Go dancers and shit? Are you KIDDING me? Wow, I wonder how many people will be there.... the guys wives (maybe)? (Quoting Message by ~ MG_Metalgoddess~ from Sunday, October 11, 2009 7:30:04 PM)

I know J.D., WTF indeed! I'm still shaking my head. I was also 13 when the EP came out and liked it too. After Chris DeGarmo left, they've just gone down hill.... Geoff has some serious desire to be on Broadway or something. A friend had the MindCrime 2 DVD, OMG..... Geoff buddy, stop trying to "act" because YOU SUCK! LOL! After I saw that, I was terrified that Priest might do something similar with Nostradamus. The first MindCrime tour was really good, but then they decided to dip back into that well and came up with CRAP! What's wrong with being METAL lately? Priest had better see what's going on and hit us with a HEEEEEAAAVVVVYYYY MEEEEEEEETTTTTTTTAAAAAAALLLLL album next!

WTF???? I actually liked Queensryche in 1983(I was 13 years old) when I first heard thier 4 song EP before it even came out because my cousin Mark knew guitarist Chris DeGarmo as he worked with him in a wherehouse up here in Seattle!!!LOL! I still don't mind the 4 song Debut EP and maybe Operation Mindcrime (for its time) but I have never cared for any other Queensryche and even I am saying "WTF"??? LOL!! Has Tate lost his mind?????? LOL!!!This is ridiculous and shows that too many artists are trying to "avoid" playing traditional heavy metal!!!! lol! OMFG!!! I didn't know where to post this. I'm completely at a loss for words other than, has Geoff completely lost his freakin' mind??? For those of you that think Priest is losing it, just read THIS! They could be doing shit like this!!! At least Rob's Christmas album is STILL METAL!
Life is a Queensryche Cabaret, old chum, come to the Cabaret.
