Can't wait for that new album! Seems like Metalizer will sound like a kick ass song! Title sounds like something for the Angel of Retribution album.

Holy crap! Hell has frozen over!

Bwian and I actually agree on something here. I would also like to see an outside producer here. I think that a little distance between the artist and producer would be of great benefit to the new album.

Not sure if I like the idea of Tipton doing all the guitar work so far and co-producing this new album. They should get the guy that produced Painkiller, Chris Tsangarides.

"Glenn believes Priest fans will be delighted with what they've done so far. "It's very heavy and classic Priest."

"The style of the new stuff combines shredding guitar playing with screaming vocals," adds Rob. "Everyone should prepare for a fabulous metal album."

Sounds like "Painkiller Swagger" to me!! Excellent news...Hey Hellrider, I think we are in for a treat man! Now if they could somehow get downing back in the fold for a three axe attack!

That Metal Hammer magazine, I found it. Its actually an issue in July 2011.
Anyways this is what It says, straight from the magazine, didn't change a thing.

We've already finished three tracks, which have been fully mixed," says Ian. "Hopefully, we can get something released, even one song, to coincide with our tour."

Glenn believes Priest fans will be delighted with what they've done so far. "It's very heavy and classic Priest. If you recall, after the Turbo album [1986], which was too experimental for some fans, we went back to basics for Ram It Down [1988]. That's what we've done again. There were some people who didn't get Nostradamus [2008], but it was a concept album we had to get out of our system, and I'm very proud of it. This new album is a lot more like typical Priest.
"We've recorded three tracks so far as a four-piece, with me doing all the guitar work. It's been co-produced by myself and Mike Exeter. I'm very excited by what we've done. There's one song called Never Forget, which is a tribute to the fans. And  another titled Metalizer, which really rocks. Rob proves here that not only is he the best metal singer in the world, but he's a great lyricist."

"The style of the new stuff combines shredding guitar playing with screaming vocals," adds Rob. "Everyone should prepare for a fabulous metal album."
Right now, the band has no clue when they'll finish the recording process. "That all depends on how long this tour lasts for," admits Glenn."But at some point next year we will go back in the studio to get this finished, and then it's down to our label [Sony] when it comes out."

Richie Faulkner, though will definitely be involved. "We can't wait to have his input," says Ian. "I'm sure he'll bring a lot of ideas to the songwriting and to the playing."

How are they going to get a metal  " (the dumb S word you use)"  of the 70,80 and early 90's with Painkiller style tracks?  If you want Painkiller style tracks how does the "S" of the 70's and 80's fit in you top notch bafoon?

LOL you are such an idiot you deserve another .  lol.

" .....what happened to wanting a style of the 70's & 80's?"

I didn't say anythig in that post about wanting a style of the 70's and 80's. What I said was Painkiller style tracks with lots of solos.

In my opinion as a whole AOR didn't have the swagger of the 70's, 80's or early 90's. Maybe a couple of tracks but thats all.

Three axe attack would not be lame at all and it would have nothing to do with Maiden.  I think it would kick it up a notch and what difference does it make who gets "credit" for it? I don't think Maiden has a patent on it or anything.

Nah,I didn't care for thier symphony thing, nor did I like the Kiss one either. Just not my thing.  On another note,I really hope the new album will have enough of Richie's style injected into it.

Just wondering, I know you dont love metalica, did you like their ochestra thing?

Personaly I thought that was great.  the kiss one was blah.

Priest I dont see it working for, even if they were the first.

Adding a 3rd guitarist would be lame only because Iron Maiden did it first,it would be as bad as Kiss doing Kiss & Symphony after Shitallica already did it.

Priest would never get credit for it nor should they. Bad idea.

Return to the metal " (I won't say it because its as bad as Hellrider's repetitive B.S.) " of the 70's,80's early 90's...yes
just like they achieved with Angel Of Retribution,Priest's 6th best album.

Painkiller style tracks with lots of solos Evans says....what happened to wanting a style of the 70's & 80's?  A full style Painkiller album won't happen
Glenn has mentioned there are styles similar to Sad Wings Of Destiny and British Steel "along with" styles similar to Painkiller.

Halford singing within the range he has today, yes he shouldn't try and force anything.

No concept album, just straight ahead classic metal I agree.

Simple cover art? Fuck that, the more detail on this one the better.
