Good morning fellow Headbangers
Am running a little slow this morning after celebrating a close friends 40th birthday last night...talk about the years flying by!!!!
Chicken on pizza??? And I thought taco or Hawiian pizza was gross...ugh!!! Some things just weren't meant to be!!
[joedraper] Sunday, November 29, 2009 9:35:16 AM
I'm with you on the chicken topic!!! Definitely should be banned from pizza! Unfortunately I'm far to dependant on tabasco on pretty much anything. When I was pregnant with Zakk I used to carry my very own little bottle around in my bag and I'd put it on everything.. I remember having it on cake and dropping a few drops in my coffee.. I'm thankful that that stage is over lol.
I shall return later! [Show/Hide Quoted Message](Quoting Message by Deep Freeze from Sunday, November 29, 2009 8:59:00 AM)

Maybe next year will be the magic year for your team DF? Lets hope! Never give up hope!!
Pizzas were excellent btw! I did too much tabasco on mine so.. ah the burn is great! lol

In fact, my (former?) daughter from that era told me recently that she remembers that with great fondness! It's funny the things that you remember in life. The little things you do together that form a lasting memory.
Well, another Rivalry day has come and gone and we ended up on the "short end" once again. Ten losses in the last eleven years...*ouch* Ah but how I remember the early-mid ninties... I do hope everyone has a GREAT Sunday! Watch a little football and generally relax.

Then it's off to church hell yeah!!! And back to metal lol. I best get my ass in gear and spin all week next week, I was a very lazy cyclist this past week and I felt it on my ride yesterday.
I hope you all have a fantastic Sunday and get plenty of rest for the up comming week!

Anyway, I won't know until 7 this evening. Oy! What a day this is going to be!!
My sincere thanks to all of you that wished me well yesterday. Again, I truly appreciate it. And so begins another day here in Priestville. I hope for the best and I brace for the worst. I have to say, Ron's comments in Free Speak were well written and well taken. I like to think of myself as a rather "smart" guy but I am at a loss as to these fine folks that continue to come here and look to be troublemakers. Just makes no sense. Especially if they are who some say they are. Why degrade yourself that way?? Baffling.
Ah well, there is no poop in MY pudding today so I shant worry myself about it. Nothing I can do anyway. To quote one of the songs we wrote; "Why don't we just enjoy the night...?" HA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Good evening, ladies and gents of the Noticeboard.
Hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving and is having a good Day-After-Thanksgiving!! And congrats on five years of sobriety, DF (although it's a tad bit late, I believe).
Friends, once again I am grateful and I am humbled. Thank you all so much for the kind words and wonderful support. It really makes me feel proud when my friends acknowledge this particular part of my life. Had you all known me before, you might not have such a favorable opinion of me! HA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Seriously, I cannot thank you all enough.
Just got home from band practice and I am a wreck. Hurt from head to toe, throat is sore and my legs are like rubber. I tell you, I don't know HOW Rob does it!!

Thank you, JD! I appreciate your kind words. Today is my FIFTH anniversary of sobriety, indeed. Five straight years without a single drop of alcohol. I suppose I could go on about how difficult it has been but it really has not been all that hard. I mean, I realize that it is very hard and all but I am lucky in that I have an extremely strong will power and I can shut things on and off with relative ease. That is not to say that I did not suffer, because I did. I was terribly sick when I quit but I stayed with it.
I will say this; if you truly want something, you can have it. Even the things that seem so far out of reach. I was where some of you may be today. My life revolved around drinking. I worked. I paid my bills. I drank...and drank, and drank. When I finally gave it up, much of my life changed. Cannot say with certainty that it was due to sobriety but I can say that it happened.
To those of you that are drinkers I say, enjoy. Nothing wrong with the occasional drink. To those of you that may be suffering as I once suffered I say, there is hope. You can beat it if you really want to. Feel free to PM me. I am always up for a chat about this subject. Your personal confidence is always safe with me.

Ahhh stuffing, turkey... making me so excited for Christmas now. Cannot believe the year has gone this fast. The university is suddenly full of lost students and families going to interviews and departmental tours for next year and it doesn't seem that long since I was in the same position.. but enough of that!
I have officially decided that it is (nearly) christmas in my world and I am off to the Metal God's page to finally listen to his winter songs- exciting times!

Just made my famous jello in a lobster mold (tradition) and have been starving myself for days to see if I can eat a whole turkey. HAAA! Methinks the dogs are going to get some.

Finishing up my Thanksgiving shopping list so that I can go get the required items for my annual feast. ALL done from scratch, of course! Well, I will likely buy the chicken stock in the carton but, other than that, we are all "old school" around here!! HA!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Thinking about going with a Pumpkin crunch instead of a pie. It is basically the pie filling with a crunchy, brown sugar topping. VERY tasty. Will make some bread for the stuffing and go with an apple/walnut flavor this year. Great stuff!! I am sure Necro can support me on that!!
To those of you that are not Americans, feel free to make a feast on Thursday just to join me!!...if only in gastrointestinal-spirit. HA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

HRMG, I agree with you. I've seen no cliques around or anything, I was welcomed also when I joined in february.

Yes, you are who you roll with - I couldn't agree more with you there DF! Funny, people keep talking about these "cliques" we have here but I've not seen that at all. I was welcomed with open arms when I joined back in April. And I would just like to say a BIG THANK YOU to all of you! I think we all hang out with the people that we feel a connection with - that is life whether it's in real life or in cyberspace. Those of us here for the same reasons recognize that in others and we bond. I appologize if I've offended anyone - it certainly was never my intention to do so. But I would really appreciate not being told off by people as if ALL of us have done something wrong! To those that choose to leave, I wish you the best. I'm here to honor the GREATEST HEAVY METAL BAND IN THE WORLD!
Oh Jeeze, this again?? I really thought we had all moved past this nonsense. Just as it gets to the point where one thinks that things will be tranquil, it starts up again. I guess that really IS the way of the internet. How terribly sad...good friends turning on one another. Accusations. Name-calling. We are so much better than this.
MG my dear, you know how I feel about you. I have never said anything differently. If there are those you feel would betray you , best not to have any interaction with them. I have no idea who is who when a new account springs up. I am not all that great on these diabolical machines. If you say it was not you, that is fine by me. I cannot see what difference it makes anyway. As for quoting Soy...well, you are who you roll with in this world, my dear. I need not say more. Some people are better off elsewhere. They would be much happier. If you are one of them, well.. all my best to you.
Look, if you choose to leave (again) I cannot stop you. It is your decision. I will miss you. And no matter what you say, I will still consider you a friend. If you hate me or feel I have wronged you, I am so sorry. How you feel about me is up to you. I just wish that we regulars could leave the nonsense to the VERY few trolls and newbies. It is so terribly self-deprecating.

Why you sure can, Big Guy! Just be prepared to bounce a lot. After all, lots of shallow roots on these trees and Calvin is a digger! Almost broke an axle hitting one of his lunar craters the other day.
It is so deep I am thinking of planting a tree there come spring. [Show/Hide Quoted Message](Quoting Message by Deep Freeze from Tuesday, November 17, 2009 11:52:23 AM)

Ahh another day in the neighborhood. Though I keep seeing some sort of disagreement here and there but I don't comment because it doesn't involve me. But I will say that everyone needs to make some understanding and to try and be able to be in harmony without such disagreements. But I am a roamer who doesn't say much but simply just sees how everyone is doing. I will say if something exciting comes along or get into some social venues but I am not much of a social guy really. Like I say; I roam about.

I know, HB, I know. I still want to believe that we can all get along and care about one another. That we can have fun and laugh and do all the things we used to do. Just as Michael has mentioned several times, I long for those days. I just don't understand where all this hostility comes from and why we unleash it on our friends? Is it that some have a life that is so incredibly miserable that the only way they can feel better is to degrade others? I am no Dr. Phil but I cannot see any other excuse.
Friendship still means something to me. It always will. I cherish the friendships I have here and I work to keep them solid. As I have said before, if someone wants to leave, go ahead. The majority of those that have done so are not all that missed anyway. If they are in a "better" place, that's great. As long as they are happy. Thank you, Spa!!! As a matter of fact, it is already at number ONE over on the AP Chart!!! Didn't take long, did it?? HA!!!!! Personally, I have to agree with Guido in that it is my favorite. I just love the chorus. It came to me all at once as I was writing the melody. I was thinking about that feeling of supreme triumph. Of "rising" from the depths of defeat when all seems lost..That kind of thing. It just sort of spilled out from there!! Here is the chorus for your enjoyment;
Tearing down the barriers, breaking loose the chains! Standing on my own again amidst the dying flames! Treading 'cross the waters, busting through the walls! Bringing down the temple as I watch the pillars falll! A one-man Armaggedon, destroy my enemies...I RISE!
