So you're the one stirring everyone up. I usually don't say much but if you don't like what you hear or see, I don't like being blunt but, suck it up and just take it as is. Debating gets you no where this day and age. Believe me i know from too many experiences from school and one of my friends who wants to debate all the time. Besides you just made a fool of yourself in front of everyone making this response here when people gave you a sour note. About the music thing, I am a very open person myself. I LOVE Nostradamus but if anyone else doesn't like it for whatever reason just respect their opinion and be on your way. Don't confront them about it, it just leads to this. Well then that was my piece for now, have a pleasant day.

LOL! Yeah you tried to slip in the "isn't Seattle where the grunge originated from"? As if you "diddn't know already"() Please. That was every bit of an attempt to try and slag me because I'm from Seattle(where the grunge originated from)so I dished it back at you and it hit you in your pole puffer.(lol!) I'm not a rasist,or a bigget not even close, but you want to slag my homeland here, then you'll get it back full force,so with that said, why don't you take your corn cobb pipe, your chaw'o'tobacky, jug ' o ' shine and your lazy boar of a hog that sits at the foot of your red neck rockin' chair and get on down the road ya hillbilly!!! LMFAO!!Are you going to "CRY NOW"?

And your whinning "Nostradamus" bullshit is pathetic guy,I "HATE" the album, and there is NOTHING you can do about it. I think that Priest "made a mistake" with this direction and so does 90% of long time fans, the other 10% are happy with it. Deal with it.It is what it is.  Since you have an open mind and all,why don't you buy a Boy George Culture Club album and give it a listen....now wait, now wait....I couldn't fathem at listening to such an album myself(yuk) but you with this open mind...hummmm....."try going along for the ride jtwa1,you may enjoy it,open your mind a little and listen to something new and different, you might be suprised at what you'll like,I promise it won't hurt ?  LOFL!!!!!!!Checkmate!

Trying to change someones opinion about music is pointless. We all like what we like, period. I'm not sure why you want to have a debate about it. Someone can talk to me about how awesome the Jugulator album is until they are blue in the face but it won't change how I FEEL when I listen to that album - I feel really angry after listening to it. It's not because Rob isn't there, it's the feeling of the album. I listen to Priest because I love them and they have always helped me get through the hard times in my life and this album doesn't do that for me. I can listen to that album over and over again and "open my mind" and it still won't change how it makes me FEEL. Having said that, I can take each song individually and I like them - they are some of the heaviest songs Priest has done. But as a whole, I don't like how I feel when I listen to it so I don't. I'm sure that others have similar feelings about other albums. Yes, music can grow on you.... I had a roommate in college that played Jimmy Buffett 24/7. It grew on me (like a fungus) but I do not choose to listen to it. However, when it does come on, I smile because I remember those awesome days in college.

I like the Nostradamus album along with many others here and J.D. and other people don't. So what? It doesn't make any of us more or less a fan of the ALMIGHTY PRIEST!

The thing I have always loved about the metalheads is that we do not judge one another - we are a very accepting group of people. I don't try to change other peoples minds about things like music because you either like it or you don't.

Well said, guid.. You know, it never ceases to amaze me how someone with relatively little knowledge of the regulars comes here, uses the word "intelligent" and then proceeds to bash...? We are not "all" disappointed in Nostra, nor do I feel that fans like JD are "close minded" for their adamant distaste of the album. The style of the album is what it is. Certainly it means very little as far as what the band HAS done or WILL do. It is just an album. Further, one's age is of very little relevance insomuch as what is or is not worthy or praise or rejection. If your only credential is being over fifty, you have not really made a case for judgement.  It may well give you reason for a colon exam but unless you are some kind of professional sound engineer or seasoned critic, I should think your opinion is no better or worse than JD's. As for your geographical situation....well, that is even LESS relevant.

At the end of the day, whether one chooses to listen to something "different" or chooses to remain locked in the stubborn clutch of "retro-metal", it will make little difference as to who WE on the Board really are, what we know or the impact our opinions have on the direction Priest has taken or will take.

I am really sad to see you lump us all into a generalized "you people." You'd know if you read here that MANY admire Nostra and I am one of them.

Prolly cause I live in Tiiiinnessee. Oh yeah and when you tell all of us off the current phrase is:

I should have known better. I actually thought I might see some intelligent debate. Man was I wrong. Music is much more than pounding rhythms, loud guitars and screaming vocals. The very band that you people worship as gods has tried to show you that with "Nostradamus", but you're all dissapointed that they didn't put out another "Screaming for Vengence" or "British Steel". They want to grow and expand their scope. Try going along for the ride, you may enjoy it.  Open your minds a little. Listen to something new and different, you might be surprised at what you'll like. I promise it won't hurt. I'm really disappointed in you "JD Diamond". You forgot my chaw 'o' tobacky, corn cob pipe and jug 'o' shine. You also forgot about the boar hog and lazy ole coon dog settin' at the foot of my rockin' chair. You really should study up on your stereotypes before you use them. You no doubt believe the Jews have all the gold, all black people can play basketball, all Irish are drunks and all Muslims blow up airplanes.  Anyone who doesn't share the same taste in music as you are stupid. The classic defense of a closed mind. That wasn't a knock at Seattle. I had a friend overseas from Seattle and when the Monsoons (look it up) came he use to joke and say it reminded him of home. You guys really bummed me out,  I'm taking my ball and going home. SO THERE!

LOL! Well to "jtwa1" Black Rain is "better" than Dio's "Holy Diver" album,or anything Dio has ever put out. Black Rain is better than The Mob Rules? LMFAO Guido!!!!! I still own and listen to Blizzard Of Oz,Diary Of A Madman and Bark At The Moon. With the exception of some songs off of No Rest For The Wicked, every Ozzy album after Bark At The Moon is really not that great at all,and most of them are terrible. Dio crushes Ozzy's solo albums after Randy died.

lol! Well you sure dished up some "baloney" if I've ever seen it! HAHAHA!   "Black Rain" is the "worst" album by OZZY I have ever heard in my freaking life!! That song "I don't wanna Stop" is the worst track by Ozzy I have ever heard as well. The Black Rain album is a mear "joke" and the "sound" that Zack has is not "OZZY'S sound"....its a down-tuned-Korn,System Of A Down,Godsmack sound that the Ozzy camp ripped off to cater to the OZZ FEST crowd! Thats a sell out if I've ever seen one!! HA!  Sorry guy,I just can't understand how anyone could like "Black Rain". YUK!

Holy Diver Vs. Black Rain...hummmm anybody want to answer this one?

And Nostradamus you think is the BEST ALBUM PRIEST HAS EVER DONE? .....aaa.....ok "Jackylone".  NOT!

And nice try in linking me to the Seattle grunge scene(lmao!) Yes I'm from Seattle(durrr) and yes this is where the "grunge scene" started, but to you ...surely JD must have started this scene(lmao guys!!)?? No? lol!!Lets just say that I'm glad I'm in Seattle  (where there is and has been a significant amount of a true metal scene here for years)  vs. living 30 miles from the "Kentucky border".Maybe you could send me up a pair of overalls and a rocking chair.....ouch my neck is feeling "red" already? LOL!!

Hell, was anyone but me at Ozzy's "goodbye" tour? About twenty years ago. Brought both kids onstage with Kelly in arms.

At the Fox if I recall, you Detroiter(s)? I laughed as no one really knew the second to the last lines of War Pigs.

Then again, I remember the Lips tour what was lauded as the last Rolling Stones tour.

While I still love Dio, call it nostalgia, I still love Ozzy. I was actually floored with the Reunion / Ozzfest tour of '05. Then again, I was expecting some bumbling drunk asking if  "I wanted a burrito" to be onstage. Ozzy did a great job. I will always think of Dio as a solo artist.    [Show/Hide Quoted Message] (Quoting Message by Head banger from Tuesday, October 20, 2009 12:32:55 PM)

I cau understand loving the singer you heard first, but to say that ozzy has a better range than dio is dificult.  personaly I think he is much better.  I first got into sabath with the born again album, so I dont get those conflicts in my head.  still one of my favorite albums.  as to ozzy solo, saw him last year, and he dodged anything that might take effort to sing, except bark at the moon, which was quite strained.

By the way Diamond, I live in Southern Indiana about 30 miles from the Kentucky border and were usually very hot, humid and dry, except for thunderstorms and tornados, in the summer but this year we've had so much rain at times I thought I was living in Seattle. Isn't that where grunge originated? I like some of those bands. Not enough lead guitar though.

I was focusing on Black Sabbath and I hate boloney except with cheese and tomato.  I disagree with you completely. I think Technical Ecstacy and Never Say Die are great albums. As far as the solo careers go, I don't think Dio can compare. I like Dio. I have several of his albums and I've paid to see him and would again,  but he tends to get a little repetative. I also believe Black Rain is far better than anything Dio has ever done. I also think that Nostradamus is far and away the best album Preist has ever done and I'm relatively sure you would disagree with me on that also "J.D. Diamond". It's a silly argument really. It's all a matter of taste isn't it. It's like arguing about favorite colors or taste in women but it's fun and something to do when you can't sleep. I respect your opinion, I just disagree. I also don't like Guns 'n' Roses but I like Velvet Revolver. I like Megadeth but hate Metallica and their  "we're the best metal band ever" attitude. It's all taste.
