I laugh thinking about one of the smartest guys I know. Born and raised in the Bronx. Has a Ph.D. and no matter what he says, he....well....sounds like he is from the Bronx! HAA!!

Soy's comment about the "eh?" caught my eye because I still get grief about it as it really colors MY speech....and I am from Detroit! Funny thing, that language business....

Hummnn!  Sounds like a cousin or two might have been in her family history, but then again, I have met intelligent Southerners and they just sound like that! They seem to be in no hurry to say anything! Very laid back.
LOL

That Jamacian concoction was probably malzbeer! BLEAAAH!!

I like it when I first went to my favorite store (KY) around here. I bought some Guiness and as the girl behind the counter looked at it asked with a VERY marked southern accent: "Y'all LIIIke that stuff? I trIIIed eet once then poooured it on my bushes and they DIiiiiEd!" (<===to be read with copious amounts of "twang!")  Haaaaa!

lol! I love the dark beers! Humm, thought I lived in the middle of nowhere? I  once had a Jamacian dark that tasted like Molasses! I thought I would puke! Ruin that nice Jamacian sand! lol! I am lucky enough that there is a store in this area called the Beer Vault! It's allot like walking through heaven's doors!

Why good afternoon. You know, I HAVE but just as I read the name I thought the same as you typed.....really hard to find. Well, I suppose I don't really look too hard either. Bit too sweet for my tastes. Not as bad but they have a HORRIBLE concoction called "malzbeer" in Brazil. I got tricked into that crap a couple of times as I usually start by asking what the darkest beer they carry is when ordering. It is made by a few different companies, thus, me getting tricked a couple of times. The person who made that black sugar crap should be drawn and quartered! Bleah!! Talk about sweet!!

Although a small town, we have a nice little selection and especially nice "family owned" stores that bring in most of what I request. If POSSIBLE. Strange laws, as I say. Things I can get here I can't get 10 minutes away in Kentucky and vice-versa. Wine and liquor is illegal to sell by the bottle in my city. Sure, you can be brilliant and drink all you want in the bars and then try to drive home as we have no public transportation but plenty of police. Thus, we have to drive 10 minutes down the road to KY! What hipocracy.

"UNFU%$#NGBELIEVABLE"...AHHHHH,THAT'S BETTER...
[guidogodoy] Saturday, September 27, 2008 2:14:16 PM
Yup. Get it on draft back in my home town. Weiss beer. Be sure to roll the bottle as that foam heats up leaving you a bunch more. Should be consumed with a slice of lemon. One of my personal favs.

Personally, I am more a Guinness but blacker sort of guy. Oatmeal Stouts. Beer called Sheaf Stout from Australia is my all-time favorite. Sadly, though, they don't sell it in this stupid state nor any surrounding me. It is imported by Miller and beer is only permitted into a state by state law. That forces me to other options like Old Rasputin (four pack), Duvel (another expensive 4 pack but GREAT) and old staples like Goose Island (Chicago microbrew) and Sierra Nevada Stout. Can't complain.

Perfect sense. You are talking to quite the beer snob. Plus, you justify me running to the store between games! LOL!

It makes plenty of sense to me. Drinking for drinking is not my style either.
[VICTIM OF METAL] Saturday, September 27, 2008 1:41:37 PM

I'm not that young anymore, so i don't drink it so much for  the effect it gives me as to the taste it provides. That make sense? But yes beer and football go hand in hand.

[guidogodoy] Saturday, September 27, 2008 1:37:53 PM
Ooooooo. A nice Octoberfest beer! Fine idea. Think I might have to pick meself up a few while I spend a lazy fall afternoon watching a little college ball!
Only 1:40 here but doesn't watching football offset any other "time for a beer" rules?
[lalouve] Saturday, September 27, 2008 1:37:22 PM
I had a glass of home made beer last night. No, not made by me lol. It was different, but good. Not too bitter like some beers are. It looked funny too : not clear at all.
Enjoy your 12 pack
8:37 pm here and I'm going to have to eat a little something soon if I believe what my stomach is telling me...
