I personally loved his music. Halford was a excellent band, Fight had some good songs too. Why Rob did what he did only Rob truely knows and I won't judge someone I adore so much. Those were his decisions, at the time, and as he moved onward and he made other decisions and here he is now with Priest, right where I'm sure he felt he should be or he would not have come back. |

I believe I read / heard a interview with rob, that he wanted to try ans write with his own band,, try it on his own, for a bit... And since that was what was going on then,,, I think he was trying to opt into the scene when he ventured out on his own.. Hence the grunge crap of the 90's... I dont care for that music,, I agree they all would not be where they are today if it was not for the Metal bands.. ect.. | | jimmyjames wrote: | | So in other words he was having a midlife crisis. He broke up Priest at their peak in order to try and compete with the new breed of hardcore metal bands eg Pantera, Sepultura and adopted the grunge look that those guys wore in an attempt to remain relevant. I think he failed to realise that without Priest none of those bands would have existed. | | ~ MG_Metalgoddess~ wrote: | | I think Rob was going with the flow at that time .. Ya know, he still kinds of wears those I'm comfortable with who I am and I like big clothes and pants that are not shorts and not pants, and interesting hats and high tops, he's got a style that is to himself and it fits him. |
