Well I wasn't sure exactly where to post this link LOL but here is Metal Hammers review of Priests recent gig in Manchester. An absolutely glowing review.

I'd like to confirm that witout doubt Rob Halford is the best singer of ever in Rock'n' Roll starting from Elvis to last singer. No one has been able to stay on stage for such a long time and always (more or less) at so high levels, so, nothing else to say.
Long Live to Metal God

You're right, Beck!! At the end of the day, he IS the Metal God and THAT is what matters!! Love his voice! LOVE his stage presence. He is the real deal!! I mentioned earlier that he does not hit the notes and THAT is actually incorrect. He can hit ALL the notes but his pitch is off. WAY off on songs like PK..but, as you said, he cannot possibly replicate what they did in a studio 25 years ago!!

I will always have great respect for the man. He sure had an impact on ME!!!

I agree with you guys, people seem to forget Rob is coming up 60 years old and has THRASHED his voice like no other singer for most of his life. He will never sound like he did at 25 years old, it's a fact of life. I have enjoyed the youtube vids of this tour so far, and take Robs singing as it is. I don't think he has ever been able to sing Painkiller 'perfectly', so to speak, how could ANYONE replicate their studio sound on a song like that, much less 20 years after it was recorded! I don't understand when people bitch about his voice cos like I said, he is nearly 60 years old FFS!! To me for someone his age and considering what he has done with his voice for so many years, he still sounds great, just not what he was which is UNDERSTANDABLE and NORMAL I think. He will ALWAY be the Metal God anyway!

You're absolutely right, brother. He is far and above ANYONE in his genre AND age bracket..and that INCLUDES Coverdale and Plant!!!!! I saw Whitesnake twice in '09 and, while Coverdale remains one of my favorite vocalists, he was struggling by the time they got here to Vegas. He kept ducking into a little "tent' on stage left and drinking what looked like a bottle of something. I believe he had to cancel the shows right after that night.

Halford stands alone. No doubt. One of the ICONS of music, not just Metal. As we have all acknowledged, the wear and tear on his voice is evident and expected. He is not a young man and he has really worked his voice beyond anything a "normal" singer could ever do. Sometimes I have difficulty remembering that. I hear him do certain songs and a part of me is disappointed because he cannot do what he did back when I first saw him in 1979. Even in the 80's and early 90's.  There are so many fans that simply will not concede that he is not the singer he was. They insist that he "still hits all the notes" and that is just not so.

At the end of the day, Rob Halford is the greatest. I say that and I mean it. There will be other opinions and I respect the right of anyone to have one but, for me, Rob is the End All. The best.

I agree with you and Budred, but in my opinion a singer like Rob Halford after 40 years singing heavy metal at maximum level demonstrates something incredible on having still this powerful voice. Then, of course, is clear that being over 60 is something different form being 25, but thinking to other great singers, more famous worlwide that Rob Halford, such as Robert Plant, Ian Gillan and many more (David Coverdale ????), no one was at this high level after 50, Halford has gone over them.
On last june 22nd, before Priest played Whitesnake. All of us know how is powerful the voice of Coverdale, but at last, after three songs he was completely out and thanks to long guitar solo and then drum solo he was able to finish after one hour.
Halford was on the stage for about two hour singing songs from Rocka Rolla to Nostardamus and always at the top, for a 60 years old fuckin' metal god.

Well said, Bud. You know, Rob is still THE Metal God. Always will be. He is also very human. He has put that wonderful instrument of his through hell for over 30 years. There is just NO way that ANYONE could come out of that unscathed.

Watching Rob and the Priest live is an awesome experience. They are icons. Veterans. They bring it every night. They are the best. There are some songs that Rob sings that still make the hair on the back of my neck stand straight up! He knows what he is doing. I figure they keep Painkiller in the set because it is just so darn popular. They play it and people go nuts. Always.

I have seen him do the song live twice since he returned to Priest and his vocal is as you said, all over the place. He makes the song come alive no matter what but, vocally, it is a far cry from 1991. That is a fact. Of course, I feel the same way about the end of Victim of Changes, too.  They do that one MUCH better than PK but it is still far from the way he did it in the 70's and 80's... just as one would expect.  A 60+ year old man is going to have a different voice than he did at 25. Especially after decades of HEAVY use!   One "Aging Rocker's" opinion, of course.

I'm keeping my criticism to a minimum because all I'm seeing is youtube videos and I know it will sound
much better live but I agree with Freeze. If you just focus on the vocals you'll hear that Rob's all over the place
on this one and some parts just sound bad. He can still sing. I saw him twice last year and he sounded pretty good..
Maybe they should just put this one to bed. (It's overdone anyway.)

MILAN, JUNE 22ND, 2011

TIME: 09.15 P.M.

RAPID FIRE

THIS WAS THE BEGINNING OF THE CONCERT DURING GODS OF METAL 2011.

WHAT TO SAY. FANTASTIC AS USUAL AND WHAT REALLY MADE ME HAPPY WAS TO LISTEN RAPID FIRE AT THE BEGINNING OF THE CONCERT. IT WAS THE FIRST SONG I EVER LISTENED MORE THAN 30 YEARS AGO  AND IS FANTASTIC TO BE JP AND ME STILL 'RUNNING WILD' IN THIS WORLD.

A PARTICULAR MENTION TO RICHIE FAULKNER. FIRST OF ALL TO KNOW THAT KK WAS NOT PLAYING THIS TOUR MADE ME SAD, OF COURSE, BUT RICHIE MADE REALLY GREAT SOLOS. THANKS ALSO TO GLENN WHICH GAVE HIM A LOT OF FREEDOM.

ROB ? INCREDIBLE. WHAT A VOICE. STILL SINGING 'VICTIM OF CHANGES', 'PAINKILLER' 'BEYOND REALMNS OF DEATH' WITHOUT PROBLEMS.

IAN : SO HEAVY AS USUAL, MAYBE MORE

SCOTT ? A FUCKING TRAIN

MAYBE THIS WAS THE LAST TIME TO SEE THEM IN ITALY JUST BECAUSE WE DON'T HAVE RIGHT PLACES WHERE PLAY MUSIC, SO ACCORDING TO THEM WE WON'T BE IN THE LIST IN CASE OF FEW CONCERTS FOR THE NEXT YEARS, BUT IS NOT A PROBLEM, WHEREVER THEY WILL BE, I'LL BE.

THANK YOU GUYS.
[Deep Freeze] Thursday, June 23, 2011 1:53:11 PM
Wow, brother! LOVE the video and LOVE the song but I really just cannot get into the way Rob does it now. NO offense intended but he is off key (from the original) and then CHANGES key and then goes BACK...? SO many years of wear and tear have really taken their toll. He sounds like he is really reaching to get the verses out then he goes into a normal range and belts out the bridge....*Wow....

It is a very difficult song to sing anyway and I give props to the Band for still playing it, even with Rob's struggles. Wish it were not so. Still, it is a  GREAT song and a GREAT performance by ICONIC rockers!

 LOL!
I went to hit reply and i hit the offensive button by mistake, lol, so now this message is under review!
Sorry guys my mistake!
Ignore this one Mr Webmaster!LOL!

Anyways,i listened to BRS today and even after all these years i cannot get into it!
It makes me cringe when i hear it,i like the intro cause it sounds like The Hellion and rob's vocals are awesome, then, when the bass and drums cuts in,gotta stop it!
That's where i cringe and i got to turn it off!
Sorry guys,hope u won't dislike me or sumthing!LOL,just joking.
I know u won't because we are all heavy metal brothers and sisters and respect each others opinions!
We all have our favs and dislikes and it doesn't mean what i think is good is right or vice versa!

To be honest after Defenders, from Turbo to Demolition i don't really care for!
Then from 2005,AOR til now i do and i am glad we will get one more album from them!

On that note folks,u all have a lovely evening and remember:

Rock Hard Ride Fucking Free and if it makes u happy and feel good, fuck the naysers!

Peace and love to u all out there in the land of cyberspace!

And that is the peak of Judas Priest right there,1984!
Best Judas Priest album ever and their image was awesome!
Somehow, after that tour,it all changed forever!
They tried to capture the magic of that year, but, never could get it near it,never, and never will!
I think it was a change in management that was the reason for the fall!
At least i got me Defenders of the Faith album to satisfy my Priest needs when the desire to hear Priest strikes!

spa I think this is the best  track on British Steel and always have. I remember listening to British Steel for the first time in 81' when I got into Priest and the whole album blew me away and then when I got to the last song I was stunned at how great this song was,is and forever will be. I NEVER get sick of hearing this song,I do get tired of Breakin' The Law and Living After Midnight but I could listen to Steeler every day for the rest of my life and never get sick of it,it truely amazes me.

This is pretty amazing apart from Rob going a bit too hard out on the choruses and losing control. He sounds awesome on the verses though. Priest shoud remaster this show and release it as a cd dvd package. It's a damn tragedy that there's no live dvd of the Painkiller tour. The quality of this isn't too bad either.
