Interesting, Syrup. You know, for years and years I had NO idea that they had done that in the studio. I was SO impressed with Rob's "live" vocals on that album that I could barely contain myself! All that time I thought how clean the music was and the vocals and such.....on a LIVE album!!! Then I find out it was a studio gimmick and I was crushed.

IMO: It appears from first listen of the tracks that were not from RITE, they have been touched up (overdubs) in the studio and the usual audience being piped in. Pretty typical as Priest of course did Unleashed in the Studio in 1979, so they know how to redo it.

| I agree with everyone who says it's a slap in the face cause you've already heard them before. But thinkabout it if they had only have done songs from 2008/09 that hadn't been played live before would you not be disapointed that there is no AOR? Lets also be honest, the recordings on RITE are great and probaby the best that exist of that tour so putting them onto CD is a good thing cause you can drive down road blasting Hellrider and not need a DVD player. Next point, the album versions will undoubtably sound better than on the DVD as they will have hopefully poured a lot of time into the production so that will be good to hear. And the final point, six songs is 6 songs, that's still a good amount. To some bands that is 3/4 of an album. I'm not saying that i am not dissapointed cause i am but only a bit and every cloud has a silver lining and all of that. But i'm not dissapointed Cause when Priest do things, they do it right and when they announce their new studio album, there will be a roar from Judas Priest fans the likes that the world has never heard. Nostradamus was an awesome album in my opinion and i treasure it but it did hold something back, the heavy metal that Priest became famous for in the 80's and 90's and returned to with AOR, this next album is going to be 'IT' folks i trully believe this will be their greatest offering i know you can still cut it Halford even if it is for one last time! |

| The fact that 6 of the 11 songs are from Rising In The East is a slap in the face to us fans. They've been working on this album for MONTHS and THIS is the result? The first disappointment came when they said only 11 songs, now it's like paying $20 only to hear 5 new songs. I'm doubtful whether I will buy this or not, but nonetheless, if this album flops, Priest will have nobody to blame other than themselves. Yes I can enjoy lsitening to the album, but it's paying for a whole album when only half of it is new stuff. |

| I really like it! Maybe its because I don't own any of their other live albums, but I will like having one with a similar setlist to the first time I ever saw Priest- and the version of Prophecy is much better than when I saw them which makes up for any dodgy bits in Painkiller. |

Just listend to all the new album & i gotta say the fact that Judas Rising,Hellrider,Riding On The Wind,Beyond The Realms Of Death,Touch Of Evil, & Painkiller are all from the Rising DVD has just ruined it all for me.
the way they have done this by saying never released before even though we know they have with ripper & then just being plain lazy n using versions of the songs we have been listning to for about 4 years now.MONEY GRAB.
i will still get it though cause its Judas Priest & the rest of the cd is still sooo awsome. |

| Just heard the clips. Painkiller sounds more unusual than bad. On the Rising in the East dvd, Rob wobbled a bit at the begining but was like a man possessed at the end. Its great to finally get a live album, but I agree his voice was far superior last year compared to 2005, and songs like Devils Child and Angel , and Hell Patrol just went off at Sydney last year. Its an uncomfortable collection, and the cover looks like its a throwback to the Ripper era. A strange stop-gap release as they continue into their 2nd year on the road. I would rather have got a whole gig, stuff-ups and all. But like the rest of you, I'll take anything from the Priest with gratitude [ even if this one does leave me scratching my head!]. |
