Yeah I hear ya.....but I would rather Halford not scream the Painkiller scream in the middle of the song,....I would rather hear K.K. or Glen use thier tremolo bars to bend that note down in place of Halford's scream. I think Halford's trademark screams LIVE are going to be far and few between. I'm sure he can hit those notes in the studio with rested chords. At near 60 years old the rigors of singing for hours non-stop would take it's toll. I'm sure he sings at a controlled pace to assure he makes through the entire set. It's amazing he can do what he does today with all those years of screaming.
Yes, at times he does sound like ELMO being strangled and at others like COOKIE with a soar throat (LOL).

I have to admit....the live version of "Painkiller" is ok all the way around except for the trade mark Halford scream in the middle just before the solo....
.....he sounds like "Elmo" being strangled and gargled down to the ground by a dying cat!LOL!! Not a good version of this song....LOL!

Hopefully. Though just the fact that Painkiller is from Rising In The East really ruins it all. There are so many great versions of Painkiller from 2008 that this is an abomination. I've come to think that maybe this album could be a cash grab rather than a genuine attempt to please the fans, cause otherwise they would have put a 2008 version of Painkiller.

I hope there is a very limited amount from 2005, and most all from 2008. We've heard the other stuff, now we want to hear last tour.

Yeah you're right. I'm just bummed out by Painkiller being from Rising In The East. I hope Judas Rising and Hellrider won't be. And one thing is for sure...Between The Hammer And The Anvil, Death, Dissident Aggressor, Eat Me Alive and Prophecy will have to have been from this tour so that's still thumbs up. Maybe some other songs from 2005 won't be from Rising In The East

Ah Cobra, you'll buy it and you know you will because you'll simply have to have it! That's a fan, and your a fan! I still think on a stand alone basis it will rock!

I just had a listen to Painkiller from Rising In The East...it's the same one as on A Touch Of Evil. My question to 'Priest is....how could you 'Priest I'd been looking forward to hearing some much better versions of Painkiller and this one is a disappointment. If Judas Rising and Hellrider are from RITE as well then I doubt I will buy this album. Edited at: Saturday, June 06, 2009 2:17:04 AM
