The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame is nothing but a shrine to consistent Top 40 groups over time.  It's a joke. They once displayed Rob's Harley and Jacket in a Metal tribute display, but no love for the band. That's a smack in the face. The Clash, I have respect for. They were inducted and did'nt even show to pick up the award. They knew it was a bullshit stamp.

Yeah Becks, it's just basically a popularity contest. Whatever band is "popular" gets in right away, which is very pathetic. Take Metallica for example, they were inducted in 2009. No way they should be in before bands like Priest, Deep Purple, Maiden, etc., because they wouldn't even exist without those bands paving the way!! If they want to let anyone in (like ABBA, etc.), then at least make categories and then have a winner from each category so that Heavy Metal is always represented and inducted every year. I'm not sure they even know what Heavy Metal even is!

I agree too, so many fantastic bands are yet to be inducted, which is WRONG. ABBA, seriously WHAT THE FUCK. It's ROCK AND ROLL, not any type of music which anyone thinks has been kinda ok over the last 50 years.

I totally agree, the entire thing is a joke! They have gotten it right on a few occasions: Black Sabbath was inducted in 2006 (with OZZY saying that he would like to see bands like JUDAS PRIEST get in during his acceptance speech!!!), ZZ Top in 2004, and Cream in 1993 and now Alice Cooper. But the fact that bands that are NOT rock at all (like ABBA and all the RAP shit!) get in before Priest, Maiden, Motorhead, Saxon, Deep Purple, etc. is just a freakin' joke!!! That's why we all call it the Rock and Roll Hall of SHAME!

The only consolation we have this year is Alice Cooper is deservedly being inducted. Would be nice if the original BAND could get together. But, I agree. Its is a joke, a farce. Fiestly, sorry for saying correct me if im wrong, Im not sure if thy are in. But, all the bands I mentioned all deserve to be in. I think though, that Whitesnake may have trouble because the Hall of Fame is really American and they may not really take much notice of their contribution before 1987 so....

But I do agree, it is a joke, and should be sorted out!!

The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame is a fucking joke.  Year after year I can't understand the nominations and the bands that get in.  No influential music????  The problem is they are critics, not guitar players and musicians.  They have no clue.

The Rock N' Roll Hall of Fame is nothing but an insult to rock and heavy metal. It is controlled by idiotic critics that compare everything to contemporary music or The Beatles. They have even thought of lowering the age limit of bands so that younger bands like Guns N' Roses and Green Day can get in earlier. They claim that there aren't any good or highly influential bands to induct. Some of the bands that they haven't inducted or even considered inductiong include: Judas Priest, Iron Maiden, RUSH, DIO and many other great, old and highly influential bands.
