With each year JP's tours become more incredible and fantastic (if talk about planning stage, decorations...).
The last tour was super!!!!!! I like it

Rob has a little "hut" backstage where he changes as well as sits down and gets oxygen if he needs it. If it was that hot and humid, I'm sure he needed a break. Sounds like Rob's back/leg was giving him problems again. One show he will be just fine and dancing around and the next night he will be limping. It's a hard life driving from city to city on a bus.

Glad that you all enjoyed the show!!!

The concert in Leipzig, Germany ROCKED, but the venue was like a Turkish bath inside (HOT and humid).  It was 33C (93F) outside during the day, and there was no A/C or even fans to ventilate the air in the venue. Some people were having trouble with it, and had to be treated by medics. I know the bands don't control this, but I'm sure they could have some kind of influence, right?

One question that I had about the band itself was, why did Rob go back stage after almost every song? True, he's not getting any younger, but I think that he may have been in pain(?) of some sorts since he was walking with a cane at times during the concert. I'm hoping that he was/is okay. I can only immagine how hot it was for the band on stage, too.

That said, they concert ROCKED, and my wife and step-son also had a great time.

Make sure those boots have high heels. That way you can tower over everyone else and get the best pics/video.

HA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I usually don't note the "departure songs" myself, but this time it was different for the reasons I mentioned. Seemed inappropriate and it was just plain depressing.

Hmmm...I wonder if they'll keep that song for the secong leg of the US tour, IF it happens?

You know, I never noticed! Even had to replay a couple of boots to make sure you were right.

On the money. Oddly enough, I never would have known had you not said something. You are also right. Best for the end of a hockey game or something.

You know, I definitely had a great time seeing Judas Priest live twice last year. Great stage setup, tons of pyro and lasers, the band giving it their all and delivering the goods, so to speak. Spectacular all around.

HOWEVER! I must confess.

I didn't like that they used Queen's "We Are the Champions" as their...departure song, I guess? You know, when they play the song through the venue speakers as soon as the last band leaves the stage, as if to say, "show's over"? Yeah, didn't like this one. I mean, sure, the band is a champ, absolutely no doubt about it, but I'm the one here LOSING my idols to age and retirement! Nope, felt more like a loser. Maybe that was what the band wanted us to feel after the show? That somehow we're all champions, but losers at the same time? *shrugs* Ah, well. I least I have the memories.

I dunno. Just wanted to put that out there. I can't be the only one, right?

Damn! How did we all miss the Hammond review?! Even has a couple of vids mixed in there. Only two. Too bad as I thought I saw myself in the crowd in BRS....until Halford says St. Louis! HAA!

Still, TWO decent sounding vids from the Venue. the-screen-door.blogspot.com/2011/12/concert-review-judas-priest-11122011.html

I've enjoyed reading all your reviews..  Especially HMRG's.  My review was more along the line of Budred's and I got a lot of heat for it.

So glad, so many had a great time and took their kids.

Hey Maple Syrup, Metalgodess posted a great review and pics from Toronto on the "superhappy" topic.  I was there too and was ecstatic.

Yeah. The guard even told if I had a camera or phone I could tape, they just didn't allow camcorders.

My brother (and I for a few songs) taped the whole thing in Detroit. Had a guard both in front and behind and they never said a word.

Camera and cameraphone, though. Funny to watch as you can see when we both get really excited and the video bounces around. Not exactly professional quality but, between us, we did get the whole show.
[spapad] Sunday, November 20, 2011 1:08:25 PM
I did notice one guy at the Detroit show who had a digital camcorder but the scope was pretty big on it and they told him to shut if off, but several people were using smaller cameras, that were taking great video from my view, and they never once said a thing to them.

Oh, it was a digital camera. But usually they tell you to turn those off too. You snuck in a video camera?
