Travis demonstrates how all the drums on songs written before he joined the band should be played? Are you kidding?
Both Holland and Les Binks were far more more detailed rythmically than Scott Travis. If you listen to Travis play the older material, it's like he (Travis) is running through it without any emotion like he has somewhere to go. Sort of a dry run in his approach and playing. Holland had that excellent bass drum thump and rhythm that Travis does not. Listen to the drum parts on old Priest like Victim of Changes/Ripper/Green Manalishi etc... w/ Scott, then with Holland on any tour. There is Big difference IMO in favor of Holland. Nice try but maybe you never saw Priest with Holland so as a newbie your loss. He was the thunder of Priest. Yes, he is a predator and behind bars, but his drumming for JP was easily better. Hey but dont get angry / just IMO.
One really special thing I enjoyed about seeing Priest asides from their awesome energy, is seeing some cool older tracks with Scott Travis drumming them, especially Devil's Child...that was just amazing. He demonstrates how all the drums on songs written before he joined the band should really be played.
