Nothing against Dave's drumming, he was ok but I always felt he lacked something and didn't quite fit in with the rest of Priest. Plus there was just something about him that always bugged me, of course now I know why. Scott brings a much heavier sound that fits with Priest so much better. I love hearing Scott play the old songs. I've been seeing Priest in concert since 1981 and I much prefer the drumming now to back then. Not sure if this is true or not but I had heard that during Defenders tour, there was an extra drummer under the stage to play the parts Dave couldn't do. Scott has no problem with those.
