 Most occult activity is kept deeply underground and the extreme behavior they have been accused of in the past is simply not true. Satanism is much like Christianity in it`s worship. 
Now before anyone tries to get all peeved off because of that statement,I only use it in comparison of styles of worship,not in direct correlation. So relax.
Most of how Satanism is viewed is due to Hollywood and some overly extreme groups that have been disbanded since most of their members are behind bars. This info is very easy to find and read on.
