Which language? English or Spanish. You argue either and there are a ton of words / expressions that are exclusive to one country or another. Portuguese, the same thing. The fact that they were navigators doesn't necessarily give them linguistic rights to determine "proper" Portuguese in Brazil for the rest of eternity. Natives of the "dominated" cultures should have some say. Mexico is the best example. They have conferences every year to take power from the Real Academia Española as they don't even speak Castillian Spanish (Spanish to us) in the whole country.
Same as England. Small group who actually speaks the "Queen's English." [Show/Hide Quoted Message](Quoting Message by Head banger from Tuesday, February 24, 2009 8:48:47 PM)

Not if you take a vote between Spa and myself.
Same as Spain trying to dictate what IS and IS NOT "Spanish." The majority of those that speak the langage are in Mexico. They have argued for years that THEY should have the final word.

You can be Alex TrebeK if you want to be. He is just another goofy Canadian who decided to abandon his country anyway.
Shoulda kept the moustache, though....

God, I hate being Alex Tribec, especially since I probably don't even spell his name right, but can we agree to post the Questions in Orange or Red so people who just stumble on to the thread can see the pending question? Or am I just being too picky and need to shut up! LOL Tell me! I can take it like a big girl! Edited at: Tuesday, February 24, 2009 8:25:56 PM
