One thing judas priest has shown is they don't make decisions based on sniping(underhand remarks) from the media and fans on this site.
I think judas priest definitely has it's work cut out for them with the new album. Very interested to see what happens long term as a result of KK Downing leaving. I think letting him go was a huge mistake. I'm sorry but Faulkner is no KK Downing, he's good at what he does, but song writing is a totally different beast.
Does judas priest actually have to wow people every year? No. They haven't done that at any point in their existence. They came up with wow factor albums every 4-5 years on average and they have been fine like that.
Anyone who has been actually following judas priest since the old days knows that it wasn't all exciting what they introduced in every album. Now We're just happy they are still alive and kicking and still producing quality music.
Tell me, what band other than judas priest has made something new and innovative in the past 5 years? (Oh I mean big time innovative metal, not trivial stuff like the mushroomhead-slipknot)
I'd rather them NOT release an album for a few years and later on come out with some great stuff. Better than releasing material just for the sake of having an album and making more cash.
Judas Priest will innovate with a new album when they're good and ready. People should remember that innovation takes time.
In the mean time judas priest will not fade in relevance. They have 2 many good albums that will see them as a safe bet for many years to come.

I don't think anyone is expecting a cd to be released every year or even every two which shouldn't be all that difficult really.
I don't think everyone expects all Priest to sound the same either, or at least I know I don't. I do believe that Priest fans expect metal
from these guys and not whatever that was on "Nostradamus" though. All criticism isn't meant to tear down the Priest either. Why does someone
have to love everything they do. I hate "Nostradamus" but I still had hope they would return to form. They unfortunately aren't doing
anything to keep that hope alive. It's been 5 years since (a) cd and nearly a decade since a (good) cd so I think all of their fans have
reason to expect something from them. And their last post did nothing to excite me because they said they were working on it last year too.
As I wait for "something" I'll take anything from these less than innovative new bands. I think they are innovative enough by constantly changing
and expanding the metal genre and not relesing the same kind of stuff generation after generation. All older people complain about newer
music. Doesn't anyone remember the ridicule of metal or anything 80's by all those classic rock fans. Now we're doing it and a few generations
from now today's youth will do it. I'm sorry but if I listened to the same style of metal everyday I would be so bored. If I listened to Nostradamus
everyday I would be so sick. I can't wait to hear new Priest but while I'm waiting I'll take today's music.

Some fans in here have decided they're done with judas priest and are now doing whatever they can to tear it all the way down to the ground. Good reason to just stop reading their post unless you are just desperate to read.
Where is all this new and innovative stuff other bands are doing? And it hasn't been even 2 years since KK left the band. What exactly do these people think judas priest should have done the last 5 years? I suppose they could have released 5 albums to wow the music press and fans but not sure what exactly is innovative about that. One could argue iron maiden was "innovative" with Final Frontier but the fan response seems to be quite muted. So why should judas priest release an album every year? Again, I'd love to know exactly what innovation the fans thinks judas priest should be doing that its not right now.
People seem to expect a revolutionary album from judas priest once a year or something. That's very annoying IMO!!!!
