No this isn't Judas Priest but it does have a former singer of theirs in the band so some shouldn't mind.

No I haven't weirded out by quoting myself, just wanted to share something.
I got a PM on youtube from Xander Demos manager. They thought the video was awesome and
ask for permission to put it on his page. I told them certainly and now when you go to his page it's the featured video.
Not a big deal but I still thought it was cool. I put these up hoping some will like them. It's cool some do. [Show/Hide Quoted Message](Quoting Message by Budred from Thursday, November 22, 2012 10:53:38 AM)

The first time I saw MRH was in 2002.
It was 5.0, 18 Visions, Lamb Of God, and MRH. After hours of listening to nothing but that "growl" MRH came on.
They started doing it too. I left after about 4 songs. I didn't see them again until 09' and they weren't anything like I thought they were.
I started getting and listening to their music and quickly realized they do so much more than just growl. I can't even label their musical
style because they go in so many directions. Now I love them and I'll be going to see them again Dec. 15th near Cleveland. Does this mean
anyone else will see the same in them. No! Am I trying to get you to like them? No! Do I care if you or anyone else starts to like them? No!

Of course not.
I am actually referring to a larger problem in the other thread. That of illegal downloads and not paying for things you like. Why is MRH not as popular as they should be? Perhaps, just perhaps, could it be due to lack of exposure to their music worldwide? Lack of revenue that could have been used to market themselves? How many thousand times do you think that their entire discography has been downloaded? How many that liked what they heard actually paid for them?
To reference bands that used to be local from MY hometown, why are Alice Cooper, Ted Nugent, and Bob Seger (who was SO local that he played a free concert on my HS front lawn before he hit it big) household names while MRH is not only local but had less than a "state-fair" gathering of people at an Ozzfest?! As I said, many who also walked out. Better bands? Bad crowds? Hey, how about no big marketing team behind them exposing possible fans to their music?! Different era and more cut-throat than ever in terms of competition. $ is down because of record sales and illegal downloads. THAT is a fact.
Nice grab on the t-shirt, btw. Again, could it possibly be that they can't raise prices because of lack of demand? At Priest, I bought a $40 and a $60 shirt, stage crew shirt plus tourbook. You don't even want to know how much else I got via private deals and eBay.
For all you Mushroomhead fans. I think it might fall apart WHILE he is wearing it!!
Yeah, same at all 3 shows we went to HB. BLS has a huge following and quite a few of them are homophobes. So I don't give a rats ass what those people thought of Rob or if they walked out laughing!
Glad to see that someone understands what I am saying. If you downloaded and liked the album PAY for it! I have no hidden agenda with respect to MRH. Never downloaded a single album or piece of music for them. thus, never gave them a cent. Even that vid. Bud posted reinforced my affirmation that I do not like them! More power to those that do.
Good aside, HRMG. I also NEVER buy a bootle t-shirt outside a venue eitehr. I'll have to ask my brother (who did buy the knock-off) if his fell apart in the first wash. If he actually washes clothes. Questionable knowing that kid.
HOT ROCKIN' METAL GODDESS wrote:
I think it's a pretty simple concept, BUY the music that you listen to so that you SUPPORT the band and all that went into creating the material that you continue to enjoy. If people continue to download the music for free, these bands will not be able to afford to continue. I have no problem with people listening to the CD first to decide whether it is worth buying. However, if you continue to listen to the CD and enjoy it, then you should PAY FOR IT!! I don't buy the cheap shirts being sold outside of the venue at a concert either, since they are not official merch and the band sees no money.
As for the Priest show - there were a lot of Die Hard BLS fans that also went to the show. Many like Priest and others don't. It is quite possible that those leaving and laughing were BLS fans and NOT Priest fans. Many of the Priest fans did not like BLS either and spent their time drinking, waiting for Priest to start. I still stand behind what I said and all the comments made by PRIEST fans at how awesome that show was!! Not to mention, the PROOF in the video of BTROD I posted from that very show
guidogodoy wrote:
Ok, let's make it simple as this is a nonsensical discussion that you've turned into an argument anyway. I am an idiot, MRH rules the earth and thanks to you we have something to discuss on the JP website. Much obliged.
My only real point was to pay for what you download and actually like. I did and I am far from rich. BTW, your "newbie" bitching about cliques (you "click" a mouse button), if it was a male, was NORMAN! Oh, wait. Sorry. That was probably too much intellect.
No worries. I am done. Peace.

I ask if you've ever downloaded anything.(yes, illegally) Yes or no, it's that simple.
Secondly if you are so against illegal downloads then why did you turn me onto a site where I could do it?
You say you are not completely against it? Then why all this?
And I don't think you have the power to download MRH out of existence i was repeating your post. And yes I remember making

They played a venue with a seating capacity of 25,000 but drew (maybe) 5000 so technically maybe it was a bust. And of course

Yes I realize this is a Priest site not a MRH site and yes I realize people here don't care about MRH.
Maybe you should realize that this is also a social site and since Priest isn't doing anything people need something to talk about. That or just come here
and read nothing. Sometimes people don't post here for a couple of days. Why? Yeah we can vote for Rob for President of Heavy Metal (how did that
turn out?) but I'm not seeing anything else to discuss about them.

1. Did I ever say that I was against Demonoid (which was taken down quite some time ago, BTW...only now coming back in a different form)? Not a bit (pun intended). As you say, I told YOU about it. Do YOU know what a DOS (denial of service) attack is? It is an attack on servers so overwhelming that they essentially knock them out. Many, myself included, believe that the US goverment took out Demonoid with this unsavory method as they couldn't cross boarders legally. It WAS in the Ukraine but is now believed to have been moved to the far East. So, have I ever downloaded anything? HA! You have to even download video games via Steam nowadays! I downloaded the Oregon Trail as a kid (who remembers THAT one? BANG! LOL) So, to help clarify what I THINK you are trying to ask: "have you ever downloaded anything illegally?" Answer: of course. My own example of Van Halen answered that one. HB mentioned bootlegs. They are not an explict rule governing them. Only good faith. If they are official releases, it is banned by most upright download sites. Audience taped (video or audio) WILL be removed from such sites if the artist or their reps ask them to be taken down. I have several terabytes. You now resort to obscenity when I am simply discussing. So, I "turned you onto it" because I am NOT so FUCKING against it! (you should breathe more. Perhaps yoga would calm you).
Truth be told, I work with computers so can get most anything I want anyway. Songs are the exception. Do be careful. While I would have posted a site where you need not be a member yet download all HRH discography in lossless form, I'd suggest masking your IP. They ARE cracking down on illegal downloaders. A simple google search would verify it.
Question 2) Uh, where is the second question? Was "have I ever downloaded anything" (any fool knows that visiting a webpage downloads the page to your cache) and what of Demonoid the two questions? If so, look up what happened to Demonoid. Even better, Pirate Bay.
Now your comments (really aren't questions so I have to take them as such) about my "issue with you?" If you think has a thing to do with MRH, you are delusional. Honestly, I could care less about them. Anyone else on the board like them, more power to both of you. True. I can't name a single solitary song they "sing" (I actually like people who sing, not growl) yet I can name just about all Priest's catalog and most of their lyrics. Save Ripper-era, of course. lol Last time I looked, though, this was a JP board, no? No big stretch of the imagination there.
Finally, while I thank you very much for thinking that I have the power to put MRH out of existence but, alas, I can only change the tides. Oh, and stop time. As I said before, you are a sensitive type and I should show more feeling. After all, it comes from the same fellow who thought that the last Priest show was an utter bust, no? "People laughing at them" was pretty close to your quote, wasn't it? Remember, it wasn't me that answered, it was other members of the board who were at that same Priest concert you dissed. Recall that do you? I'm sure anyone can look up the post if you need help remembering.
Thanks for calling me a diehard Priest fan. At least I am in good company. I have yet to see anyone engage you in a single convo over MRH (well, besides ME!!).

You've pretty much stated what you're issue is with me.
I like MRH.
MRH gives me enjoyment through entertainment and something to talk about with all the stuff they have going on.
Priest does nothing for me right now and gives me nothing to discuss and you are a diehard and resent this.
You resent it so much in fact that you want to put MRH out of existence.
Then you try to belittle me by stating how they don't draw and people walk out on them.OK, now I'm hurt.

Do you think that Hellrider posting his dumbass "goatfucker" or cardboard YouTube messages is ever going to make people like the band or open their eyes that they should have "all, not a partial full-on in your face three axe attack" with JP's next album?
Here: (nah, second thought edited by me...I am not so cruel as to post where you can download every single disc without any sort of membership) I recommend the discography. Know that it is illegal to download any of this but, if you do, I am sure that you will certainly be honest and support the band by paying so that they can continue their craft and, hopefully, be able to offer more concerts.

Why the fuck did you turn me onto Demonoid if you're so against it.
You don't realize that I don't care how anyone feels about them. I only care how I feel about them. When they
do go away I'll move on to someone else.

You, on the other hand, have always tended to take everything way too personally. The creation of this very thread is a good example. A bit of a persecution complex mixed with over-sensitivity if you ask me. Hell, you can talk about MRH 'till the cows come home. Do you think that Hellrider posting his dumbass "goatfucker" or cardboard YouTube messages is ever going to make people like the band or open their eyes that they should have "all, not a partial full-on in your face three axe attack" with JP's next album?
Not to mention, the PROOF in the video of BTROD I posted from that very show
Ok, let's make it simple as this is a nonsensical discussion that you've turned into an argument anyway.
No worries. I am done. Peace.
Budred wrote:

You say you are not completely against it? Then why all this?

bust I said that they weren't as good as times past. To me that's true and if a few diehards here want to disagree then so be it.
They played a venue with a seating capacity of 25,000 but drew (maybe) 5000 so technically maybe it was a bust. And of course
people are chiming in. A while back some newbie bitched about clicks here. That's basically what this site is. A click of about a
dozen people who are diehards and don't care for those they deem not to be so when one of you start on someone it becomes a
feeding frenzy.
It used to bother me but fuck it now. That's why I'm not responding to him. He was having a back and forth with you and saw an out by joining you on me.
Man it sucks so bad to have a MRH fan on our website. WAH!! WAH!! WAH!!

I am actually referring to a larger problem in the other thread. That of illegal downloads and not paying for things you like. Why is MRH not as popular as they should be? As I said, many who also walked out. Better bands? Bad crowds? Hey, how about no big marketing team behind them exposing possible fans to their music?!
Don't do it. They suck.
Hell, no one likes them and everyone that goes to see them walks out on them.
You want to hear a funny story. This is true, not sarcasm.
No!
I'm just sharing a story on a social site. Is that normal? Not here!
And yes I know you are only on my side to piss with Guido.
If you do give them a listen start with Xlll or Savior Sorrow. I'm pretty sure you can download them. (LOL) [Show/Hide Quoted Message](Quoting Message by Brian_Evans from Saturday, November 17, 2012 10:44:40 PM)

You go in so many directions that I can't even keep up with you. I'm using profanity because you are an idiot.
And yes I remember making
those posts about Priest. People around me were laughing at them and some around did leave and no I didn't say it was a complete
bust I said that they weren't as good as times past.
Man it sucks so bad to have a MRH fan on our website. WAH!! WAH!! WAH!!
All he does is talk about them. WAH!! WAH!! WAH!!
Why won't he talk about Priest. WAH!! WAH!! WAH!!
I know, I'll use my intellect on him.
Sure! Glad to answer and am also glad to see that others are chiming in as well.
Ignore that dude man, he's just on some kind of self-righteous glory kick. lol
Why the fuck did you turn me onto Demonoid if you're so against it.
You don't realize that I don't care how anyone feels about them. I only care how I feel about them. When they
do go away I'll move on to someone else.

Sure! Glad to answer and am also glad to see that others are chiming in as well.
Why the fuck did you turn me onto Demonoid if you're so against it.

Yup, supply and demand. Simple cost / benefit analysis.
both shirts were overpriced. but its supply and demand. if MHR or Priest held a concert with $40 shirts and no one bought one, the next night do you think its the same price? the next tour? no one is carrying a bunch of shit that doesnt sell. they either stop selling shirts or change the price to where people will buy them.

Dude, I love Judas Priest and if they were actually doing something worth mentioning I would post about them in a heart beat.
The only thing they have done since Rob's return is two albums and a couple of tours. Other than that it has been a continual blast of compilations,
best of's, and live cd's. No real work just a lot of bloodsucking.
I'm not trying to troll this site or get anyone to like them(MRH). What you don't get is that they are a local act for me and they play most of their shows in this region
of the U.S. That gives me multiple opportunities to see them and I try to use this as a social site and since they are giving me something to talk about I post.
I'm not trying to ram them down anyone's throat and they aren't that successful yet they keep giving for their fans. I respect them for that. I would rate Priest
a hundred times higher than MRH but they aren't doing anything for me now so I don't discuss them. If I'm coming off as a troll or if you think I'm trying to do
with them here what Brian does with Maiden you're incorrect. Believe it or not I still respect you and the help you've given me since I've been here but lately

My favorite artist is H.R. Giger.
He did the "Alien" creature, "Futurekill" movie poster, "Emerson Lake and Palmer's Brain Salad Surgery album art.
He's done stuff with Debbie Harry and others. He has three books, two of which I have. To the point, everything on my leg
is a section of one of his paintings. So, instead of one of his paintings tattoo'd on my leg I have pieces of multiple paintings.
This helps ensure no one has the same tattoo. Maybe a piece of it but not the whole thing. In December I'll show you the
decaying babies I'm putting on the front. Check out one of his books. "Necronomicon and Necronomicon ll" I forget the
name of the other one but it's something like "Biomechnoid". That's not the title but it's something like that. This may not explain
the why you were asking for but basically I like it and it's H.R. Giger. [Show/Hide Quoted Message](Quoting Message by jimmyjames from Friday, October 26, 2012 9:32:00 PM)

I went to see a couple of tribute bands a few weeks ago. These guys are called "Beatlmania Magic" A Tribute To The Beatles.
I'm not a Beatles fan other than a few songs but I would say these guys did a good job of recreating the Beatles. The video below
is a Kiss tribute band called "Dressed To Kill". I saw them last year and they were great. This year not so much. Many sound issues.

I agree. The short haired dude kind of surprised me. I wasn't expecting him to be able to sing like that.
Even though most of the band didn't have that "Metal" look they performed great. Some of the Sabbath
stuff may have sounded a little better than the original because of the twin guitars. If I did this right this should
be a link to my playlist on youtube. There are 11 videos (12 songs). http://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL43F716222140DF49&feature=view_all

Agreed.
I think I like K.E.'s version because they don't try to copy Dio.
Their singer (?) screams parts and sings parts and they heavy it up a bit. You know
you're listening to a Dio song but it sounds like a Killswitch Engage song if that makes sense.
I think them trying to do a copy would have been laughable. I said I would spare you guys

@ anyone
Has anyone here heard of James Rivera's Sabbath Judas Sabbath (tribute)?
It's coming to Pittsburgh on Saturday and I was considering going. I'll check Youtube
for videos but if the quality is poor it would be hard to gauge just how good they may be.
The problem for me is do I go to Pittsburgh for that or do I go to Cleveland that night for

answer that part of the question, I know what the overwhelming response would be.(lol)

I'm not looking to argue a point but you made a comment a couple of weeks back that I still think about.
If you respond I have no intentions of a back and forth, I'm just curious as to your reasoning. A few here have
criticized what I listen to and I'm OK with that. (I kind of expect it sometimes). Anyway, Five Finger Death Punch,
what makes them a sellout to you? They are my favorite (current) band out there and I'm a little confused as to
why they would be considered a sellout to some.
I'd give reasons why I think they're (not) a sellout but that would be starting a back and forth already.
Looking forward to hearing your opinion. Peace.

First part of the answer is no, I don't have any idea about when YouTube started putting stats on their page as I don't post vids there.
Now, to answer the question about how someone could learn about Mauritius from Looney Tunes? Easy!
Like any good household, I grew up with a full set of encyclopedias at hand. Looney Tunes made an old black and white short, if you recall, where Porky tries to get the last of the Dodo birds. Well, that was enough for me to look them up. Would that we had Wiki as you'll see that they were flightless birds native to Mauritius that had no natural enemies until the arrival of Man.
-----
Wiki: "The dodo (Raphus cucullatus) was a flightless birdendemic to the Indian Ocean island of Mauritius. It stood about a metre (3.3 feet) tall, weighing about 20 kilograms (44 lb). The species lost the ability to fly because food on Mauritius was abundant and mammalian predators were absent."
-----
Looney tunes made at least two versions of the animated short as it was so popular. They were both known to be extremely surrealistic (down to the melting Salvador Dalí melting clocks and eyeball if you watch closely in vid #2). I'll skip the intro (but you can see the whole vid if you look for "Porky in Wackyworld" to get to the best part of the vid that most old folks remember (1938 version):
Now, look at the Merrie Melodies color version (actually renamed "Dough for the Do-Do) and watch where Porky flies his plane. Off the continent of Africa and makes a sweeping right bank into what would, naturally, be an island off the southern tip of Africa in the Indian Ocean. It is Mauritius. Now don't tell me cartoons aren't educational!
I don't use any blockers. I do such a small amount as far as surfing or whatever.
The majority of what I do is here, MRH (alot less than here), Comcast news, Youtube,
sports news, bandsites, concert news, and very rarely facebook so I never cared who
tracked me. I recently started getting alot of spam emails from companies I would never
buy from. I wish I could stop that. Otherwise, track me, I don't give a f#ck. As far as the
numbers(youtube) not being accurate, I didn't think about it because I just found it two days ago.
I still haven't checked everything they keep stats of. I do find it interesting though. Do you know
if this is something new to Youtube or have they always had the stat button? I like Youtube.
I'm glad they give total views on videos you post. I only put them up hoping people want to see them.
The numbers tell me they do. I don't feel like I'm wasting my time by posting them. My numbers
are low compared to some but people are watching them. I have 107 videos up with about
80,000 views between them. One of my Red Fang videos has around 25,000 views by itself.
Some from that other band I like have as many as 5000 views. Most everything else is in the hundreds
or low thousands.
Can't wait to here the answer to that question of your's. I used to love Looney Tunes cartoons.

Now then, as my one day ban has been lifted about Mauritius, a good question for the riddle section would be: how did I know where that island was because of a Looney Tunes cartoon?
I'd be impressed if ANYONE can get that without cheating. it is the truth, though. Was done once in black in white and was so popular it was released again in color.

Hmmm...I can understand the Brazil age group but not Russia's.
My theory? Bunch of users faking their ages. That, or Russia has a large number of metalheads in their golden years. Plus I don't think YouTube counts the number of visitors that don't have an account when making those stats.

I believe Mauritius is in the Indian Ocean, close to Africa.
That stat button on my youtube page is pretty cool. I was just checking it out, One of
the stats is how many different countries viewed my videos in the last 30 days. So far, 87.
Some of them I've never heard of and some I didn't expect. 17 views come from some unknown
origins. It must be a tribe in the jungle some where with a laptop checking out my MRH videos. (kidding)
Anyway, here's a question for all. (...except Guido, he's banned for at least one day for knowing everything.) ()
Where is Mauritius located?
General geographical location. ( mideast....etc. next to...)

U.S. was number one and at number two was Brazil.

Ooooh oooh oooh! Mr. Kottah Mr. Kottah!! LOL
Anyone who was ever a HUGE fan of old Looney Tunes should actually know the answer (I won't spoil it but that why I even knew where it was as a kid).
As for Brazil and MRH, I'll be heading down again later this summer. They do still have record stores there even though the black market on the streets eat up most of the profit from the popular bands. Sadly, I have never seen Priest on the streets much less MRH. As I posted to Deep Freeze after the last trip there, you can actually find "A'Ha" displayed in more store / mall windows. "Taaaake ooonnnn meeeeeeee!" HAAA! The comment was left for a Lody Kong video. I know the singer / guitar player is related to Max Cavalera.
Max played in Sepultura and I thought they / he were from Brazil. I get a lot of comments from there on my MRH
videos and the writing looked similar to those so I just assumed that's where the comment was from. [Show/Hide Quoted Message](Quoting Message by guidogodoy from Wednesday, April 25, 2012 11:17:48 PM)

Only word that remains undefined is "una mazal." Depends on the context and I'd need more than part of a sentence to understand what they mean.
Could be a BUNCH of things. I guess I'd have to know the group better. Why not ask the writer: "¿Qué es una mazal?"

I saw one of the worst bands Sunday night. (No, not Mushroomhead)(LOL)
Soulfly was badass, I liked the two bands (Incite / Lody Kong) that played before them but the band
before those two (Wyckked Wytch) sucked ass.Supposed Death Metal or something. Some chick
with this low gutteral kind of scream or growl or whatever the f#ck it was. Their drummer was phenomenal,
they had good guitar players but that chick. AAAHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! She sucked. (IMO) The two openers
were Pittsburgh bands (Storm King and Stinkpalm Death) and they were pretty good also.
Great show (IMO)(LOL), but that chick. AAAAAHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'll search youtube for a video just
so you guys can laugh. (Yeah it's worse than the stuff I listen to.)
Next up...May 17th
Mushroomhead
w/ Hed (p.e.) and American Head Charge.
