White trash lol, I hate to break it to ya but most people dont even know who Judas Priest are let alone saxon, and these are so called metal fans? But they all know who Iron Maiden is.... Kodos to maiden Im just sayin. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, your opinion is neither right or wrong, same as mine at least on this subject. However its my opinion that Saxon has been the innovative band here these last 5 years putting out 3 quality lps while Priest has put out no new studio work...not saying they should or shouldnt be putting out albums these last 5 years, just saying based on no new songs compared to Saxons last 3 lps which are all 3 quality innovative albums and they are innovative as much as any Priest album is innovative. Thats my take on it white trash....why do I like calling you that as much as I do....lol!

if the only thing that counts is fans at a concert then justin bieber is beter than any metal band today. I dont think thats the only thing we can count on.
they do seem to folow up the semi popular albums with great ones for the most part, so we should be due for one more great one, and realisticly I think there is only one album coming from this group. hope I am wrong, hope the make 10 more, but I doubt it. I also doubt that I will see them ever again, but fingers crossed
You are entitled to your opinions but I think you need to re-remember the old days.
Priest was putting out an album every year and those albums were some if not the best metal albums ever made.
They came out with a wow factor album every 4 or 5 years???
Really???
I was always excited when they released new albums until "Turbo". "Jugulator" could have been produced a little better.
They didn't tank again until "Nostradamus". That seems like just the opposite of how you saw it but that's just my opinion.
Yes I'm glad they are alive and kicking but where is that "still releasing quality music" that you are talking about because there
hasn't been any in almost a decade. That trivial "stuff" that you mention, I saw Slipknot last year play in front of nearly 24,000
screaming fans and that club band from Cleveland that you mentioned just sold out Harpo's in Detroit last weekend so I'll just
let that speak for itself. Let's be realistic here also, do you think that Priest will continue for years to come and put out many albums?
This isn't bashing them but do you realize that they are aging just like the rest of us. They don't have the time to do what you say
they are going to but you can have your dreams man. I agree with your last sentence but I already mentioned how I feel about getting
stuck in the past. It's great to reminisce from time to time but I choose to move forward for the most part.

I think letting him go was a huge mistake. I'm sorry but Faulkner is no KK Downing, he's good at what he does, but song writing is a totally different beast.
Does judas priest actually have to wow people every year? No. They haven't done that at any point in their existence. They came up with wow factor albums every 4-5 years on average and they have been fine like that.
Anyone who has been actually following judas priest since the old days knows that it wasn't all exciting what they introduced in every album. Now We're just happy they are still alive and kicking and still producing quality music.
Tell me, what band other than judas priest has made something new and innovative in the past 5 years? (Oh I mean big time innovative metal, not trivial stuff like the mushroomhead-slipknot)
I'd rather them NOT release an album for a few years and later on come out with some great stuff. Better than releasing material just for the sake of having an album and making more cash.
Judas Priest will innovate with a new album when they're good and ready. People should remember that innovation takes time.
In the mean time judas priest will not fade in relevance. They have 2 many good albums that will see them as a safe bet for many years to come.

I look at the trival Mushroomhead-slipknot and see some kind of wacko mutated form of Kiss with some rap thrown in the mix.
Not very innovative metal in my book. I'll ask you again, name me a metal band that has made something new and innovative equal to judas priest in the past 5 years? Or even 10 years.
In my book 24,000 screaming fans doesn't exactly qualify a band as "game changers" like judas priest, nor does selling out Harpo's in Detroit.
I don't see the sky falling just because judas priest doesn't have a new album out every 1 or 2 years
Unlike some other bands who churn out **** every five minutes hoping something will stick and to grab more cash.
Frankly nothing by these new metal bands will ever grace my metal collection.
So this whole judas priest is not "relevant" or "tanked" in recent years thing is total bs. Judas Priest were the "game changers"
of heavy metal and always will be until someone comes along and proves different.

Maybe you need to think things through before typing, chief.
"Saxon is the innovative band that has put out 3 albums in the last 5 years that not only blow away Primal Fear(yuk) but are far better than Nostradamus and every bit as good as Retribution...Into The Labyrinth,Call To Arms and Sacrifice."
That's an Interesting statement when you realize that most people don't even know what or who Saxon are.
Saxon are not the heavy metal "game changers" like judas priest.

Peter Gabriel and Rob Halford, they has own labels and studios, because they are able to do, what they want to do, and it´s still good. I don´t say they aren´t achieved on fans but for Rob was important to do some other styles, otherwise he hasn´t some sessions with Fight in small clubs, he has enjoyed. That is important.

I can´t say this album is better as the others, all the albums has different styles and I like all about Judas Priest (have a look on the interview on you tube, French TV 1993), Rob hates all the critics about this album is better like the others or some has different styles like “Turbo Lover” etc. bla bla bla… be calm, it isn´t good to makes too much pressure to the band, the creativity it will be flow again.
The truth is its more of a race that never ends... if you lose first place, you're still in second place! You have to pick up pace and come back on top... (not saying Priest is in second place as I don't care for ratings of fans, just so I don't get flamed).
We're all humans and yes, we might get complacent at times in some way. Therefore losing a spot might actually be beneficial and whip us up.
The Nostradamus was 5 years ago. And where does it say that they have to have a "wow!!!" album every year or two or the band is crap???? That is the kind of talk by fans trying to tank the band. Annoying!!!!
