Glad to hear HRMG got to enjoy Saxon in Michigan. I left for the Cleveland show but I didn't make it. Ended up driving an hour for no reason. Stopped in Boardman and had dinner with the wife. Listened to Saxon all the way home which did nothing for my depression (lol). I still can't believe I haven't seen them yet. I'm not their biggest fan, I never thought alot about Biff's vocals but some of their music is heavy as hell and I can see why some like them so much. I did like their first three albums alot and from HRMG's brief description it sounds like they may have done a bit of the older stuff. If there's ever a next time maybe then. I decided to skip the Otep show next month and at least one of the MRH shows. I joke about it alot but I really do need to cut back a little.

I agree. They have missed the boat on several occasions IMO. Go back to BS Tour, never played BTL,MG's or Rapid Fire and why make a video of Don't Go ? Why not Solar Angels or Desert Plains ? They have never really capitalized on their strong points.

...not trying to go on and on here but I was checking out 100 Years Of Broadway and there is no way I could sit through that. I'll go through your suggestions and look online. I'll figure it out. I really liked the look of that theatre though and thought that would be cool. I've been to Detroit before I just didn't search out anything to do. Went to Cobo Hall to watch Ultimate Fighting and stayed at the Renaissance Center and checked out the Detroit Zoo the day after a Priest show(DTE) but that's it.

I was checking out The Fox Theatre. That place looks cool as hell. Love the decor.  On Nov. 3 they have "100 Years Of Broadway". Not for me but my wife loves that stuff. We went to a couple of shows on cruise ships and she had a blast. She taught dance for 15 years so it's kind of her thing. Her Birthday is that week so maybe I'll see if I can get tickets and surprise her. Mushroomhead on Saturday and 100 Years Of Broadway on Sunday. Now if that isn't a contrast in taste I don't know what is. (lol). Maybe do the riverwalk early in the day. Thanks for the suggestions.(again)(lol)

@Guido, thanks. I'll check the theatres you mentioned for a Nov. 3 show. The riverwalk may be a good idea. We walk every Sunday(5miles) anyway so that would be cool. I'll read your post again and look into some of your suggestions.

@Guido. What would one do in Detroit in November to have fun. May go to Harpo's and would like to find something to do the next day. Pittsburgh has "Station Square" and Cleveland has "The Flats". Entertainment districts with restaraunts, bars, nightclubs, etc. Does Detroit have such an area. Any suggestions. Open to other things also. Nice State parks, etc. Just looking for ideas.

...i was watching "Pawn Stars" a couple of weeks ago and one of the owners was given tickets to this camp as a birthday gift and he got to sing with Roger Daltry of The Who.(his idol). This was the first time that I've heard of it. I told my wife it would be pretty wild if Priest would do it and about two days later I saw Demonizer's post. Very cool!!!

That's funny. My wife wanted to see that yesterday before work. It came on TV and she was doing something. She turned around as it was ending and she was like "Shit!!!" "Shit!!!", and I was like "what?", and she said she just missed that commercial so I went to youtube and brought it up so she could watch it. We think that commercia is hilarious. Then I come here and you have it posted.

I got to ride on a zip line Sunday for the first time. My wife has been telling me about this park near us that offers it but I never thought it would be much fun so I didn't give it any thought. We take 5 mile walks on Sundays and we were heading out for that and decided to have breakfast first so we drove past where we were going to find something. On the way we saw a sign for the park she was talking about and after we ate decided to ride by it. On the way to that I ended up on the wrong rode and didn't even know it but I saw a sign for a car show and we decided to hit that. I turned around and going back towards the car show I saw the sign for the park. The car show was at the park. After we checked out the cars we saw that they had walking trails so we did one called a 4 mile loop. Got lost at the end and did some extra walking so we probably got our whole five in. (lol). During the walk I saw them zip lining and it looked a little more fun than I thought so we did one called "The Ride". 2200 ft. downhill over the trees. It was a little scary because I had to go first and didn't see anyone else do it so launching myself off a platform more than 50 ft. off the ground was a little shaky. It was fun as hell though once you realized you weren't falling towards the ground. I let go of the bar and leaned back and rode it like that. It made you go faster. At the end it seems like you're going too fast to be able to stop in such a short distance and that scared me a little. It was so much more fun than I thought it could be and the way our day worked out without any plans and just winging it was perfect. Sorry so long. I just thought I would share.

I need help! I've relapsed. I said no more shows "this year" after Aug. 20 but I was online yesterday and saw "Dio Disciples" playing at Ripper's own "Rockhouse" and only 200 hundred tickets being sold and I told myself "No" and then...

...I ordered two tickets (gotta keep the wife addicted also) so it looks like Sept. 15 I'll be getting my fix at Ripper's place with Ripper's band (not technically his but anyway).

...and now Saxon in Cleveland is saying "Dave, ...Dave"    .....aaaaaahhhhhhhh!!!!!!! I have no control. (lol)

When the chaos was happening I was palms flat pushing as hard as I could and didn't even care what I was putting my hands into.Having water and beer and whatever poured and splashed and sprayed all over me would normally get me pissed but I was soaking wet (literally) and didn't even remember how until later at McDonald's the wife and I were discussing it and I kind of started remembering some of it. Overall crazy experience. I say all the time I'm getting too old for this shit, maybe I should listen to myself!   ...or just say fuck it you only live once! (lol)

I'm not sure if I told this story here or not but since bears were brought up I'll share again. I was 18 and with 2 friends walking on a trail called "Falls Trail". It was on "Red Rock" mountain (big hill) in north eastern Pa. It went down one side of the (hill) and back up the other with nearly 30 sets of water falls along the way ranging from a couple of feet to more than 90 feet. Very cool walking trail. Along the way we were surprised by a deer drinking out of the stream that we spooked and it darted right past us. Guys being guys (you know, "macho") we started talking about what we would do if we saw a bear. "I would hit it with�a stick", "Yeah. well I would throw rocks at it to fuck with it", "shit, I would chase his ass". Comments like that but I don't think we really expected to see one. At the top of the trail we started hearing a high pitched kind of squeal and then something like a loud hiss. Then we heard something that sounded like something scratching a tree and more squeals. We get to the very end where you step out of the brush and into a field that led to the center where we were going. Anyway in a line of three the first guy opens up a brushy area to walk out ont the open field and he stopped in his tracks. he started stuttering "there there's a bear" and the other two of us looking over each side of�his shoulder saw the bear. No sticks, no rocks and no chasing, just a flat out sprint by all three of us until we got to the center about a hundred yards away. So headbanger, even if just a guess can you explain the noises. The bear we saw was a cub. I'm guessing we were about to be mauled.(lol)

The whole time this shit was going on all i could do was wonder where is security? There was none, and I'd be amazed if no one got hurt.

I have a concert experience to share that i think some here will actually enjoy hearing. I went to the MRH "Oldschool" show last night and what started out as a fantastic event turned into my worst concert experience ever. Got early entry to watch the sound check and that was pretty cool. Only got to see a couple of songs but there were only about 100 people so we could see great and it was comfortable and it was cool seeing them play not wearing masks or costumes. They offered a food spread and then went to an outside fenced in patio area to meet and talk with everyone. Got to get pics with everyone and they gave us tshirts and posters and we had them signed. Went back in and got a spot right up by the stage. Thought it was going to be great but during the last band before MRH the crowd started pressing forward. I was up front for them before so I thought I was prepared for what was to come and stayed up front. During the intermission the crowd started thrusting forward and I had to use the stage as leverage to hold everyone back. By time the lights went down I was reduced to using my knees pressed against the stage and palms flat on it to hold people back and was in a postion where I couldn't get out of the crowd. It got so bad that I could only turn my head to look at wife and I told her I didn't think this was going to go well. When the band started it was chaos and a everyone behind us was pressing forward. I ended up flat against the stage screaming out in pain because my legs were getting crushed and I was totally spent and couldn't do anything. All I could do was reach for the band and ask for help. At first I think some of the members just thought I was trying to touch them and ignored it. Then one was over top of me using a hose to water the crowd and he noticed me in anguish and he tried to pull me up. I was getting smashed so bad I couldn't move and he started trying to push people off of me and he was giving it everything he had. Finally I felt a gap and I pulled myself up on stage. Then some of the other members just thought I jumped up and were trying to get me to jump into the crowd. Then the crowd was yelling at me to jump and I just stepped in. Then people trying to help were like why didn't you jump. I couldn't hardly breath or talk and just shook my had. Luckily trying to get out of the crowd people were just shoving toward the back. My wife had to be pulled right after me. Yeah it sucked. Moral of the story. Lift weights if you want to be up front at a MRH show. Fuck!!!
