You have NEVER heard the nursery rhyme, Vail? Lordy be! VERY common to someone my age.

Hot-cross Buns!
    Hot-cross Buns!
One a penny, two a penny,
    Hot-cross Buns!

    Hot-cross Buns!
    Hot-cross Buns!
If ye have no daughters,
Give them to your sons.   [Show/Hide Quoted Message] (Quoting Message by Vaillant 3.0 from Friday, April 10, 2009 10:54:06 PM)

Be back later!

Gosh !
[Becks] Friday, April 10, 2009 11:16:32 PM
Sweet as Timboni
Sounds good Vail. I want to buy me some easter chocolate too, mmm. On monday the shops mark down the stuff they didn't sell, so extra cheap chocolate! YAY! LOL!
[Vaillant 3.0] Friday, April 10, 2009 11:10:25 PM
My city's holding an easter egg hunt for all the young kids in one of its parks. I'll probably just go and see them in action. It'll be either that, finish my homework or buy me some easter chocolate.

Sorry, but I've stepped on more than my share of toes around here so I didn't want to offend.  Especially when it comes to religious holidays.  Might just have to make me a batch.  Sounds delicious.
[Becks] Friday, April 10, 2009 11:06:04 PM
LOL Timboni, it's not a strict Easter tradition, it's just an Easter time food. I'm sure whatever you like is just fine! lol.
Ooooh Vail, they would be! Especially the choc ones once they're done no real plans here, my mother in law and her fiancee are coming down here tonight to visit, so yay for visitors! LOL! You?   [Show/Hide Quoted Message] (Quoting Message by Vaillant 3.0 from Friday, April 10, 2009 11:01:43 PM)

They must be extra good with a glass of milk!!  Do you have any plans for the Easter weekend?

Didn't want to offend if it was a strict "Easter tradition".  So a berry filled with a raspberry jam cross or a banana filled with chocolate cross is cool ?

I better stop.  I'm making myself hungry !
[Becks] Friday, April 10, 2009 10:57:09 PM
They're awesome toasted with a bit of butter sometimes you buy ones that have orange or lemon rind in them, blegh, I'm making mine with raisins and currants in them, yum yum.

They probably do exist in the States, but info about them never reached my ears (nor eyes) until now. Looks tasty!!

I don't see why not, Timboni, if that's what you like!

That looks good.  Would it be inappropriate to make the cross with vanilla or maple frosting ?
[Becks] Friday, April 10, 2009 10:50:21 PM
Don't you have them in the States? Traditional easter thing, normal ones have fruit in them, choc ones have choc chips easy as to make, I use my breadmaker to mix the dough, then separate in to buns, let rise, make the crosses with flour and water and chuck them on and bake. Yum!
