ok...here's the scoop...frankfurters were created in Germany...however, they were made out of pork only...in 1870, Charles Feltman, a German immigrant, sold sausages in rolls on Coney Island...in 1880, Antonoine Feuchtnanger, also a German immigrant, sold 'hot dogs' in 'buns' ...customers would walk away with the 'white gloves' she would let them use to hold the hot dog with as they were too hot...and that was her response to that...
