Just a little word of caution.  Make sure your electrical system is well grounded and even then, be careful.  Our neighbor and friends house got struck by lightning a few weeks ago. Although it struck a tree about a hundred yards back, it traveled through their invisible dog fence and caused a fire that destroyed their home and killed both their dogs.  So if your going to be gone for a while and there is a chance of thunderstorms you should disconnect your system.

JD - YOU SAID IT BEST, WHAT'S DONE IS DONE. YOU CAN'T GO BACK AND CHANGE IT. LEARN FROM IT FOR YOUR FUTURE. DON'T CARRY IT WITH YOU. THE ONLY ONES WHO WILL GET HURT ARE YOU AND THE ONES AROUND YOU.  YOU HAVE MANY YEARS IN FRONT OF YOU. DON'T RUIN THEM BY LOOKING BACK.  TIME WILL MOVE TOO QUICKLY. YOU COULDN'T CONTROL WHAT THEY DECIDED TO DO. IT'S SAD, BUT THERE SHOULD BE NO GUILT ON YOU PART.

Thanks HB, Loripip, Guido, Healer, Vail;

Everything you all said made sense and today I'm trying to put things into perspective. I feel a little less guilty about mourning and I guess I just need some time to process this all.

Healer, maybe it is also a case of unfinished busines as you said, I would have liked to have made my peace with him but what's done is done.

Thank you all for being an ear, it makes situations like these just that tiny bit more bareable.

xxxx
Love you all

I think guido harbors CIA dogs. They're only tearing the shoes to pieces so they can find terrorist explosive devices.

HA!!! Well, if the dog whisperer guy doesn't fix the problem, then do this:

Find something you know the Shoe-Muncher likes to chew, and slather it in Tabasco sauce.

Tame? Nah, I have given up all hope of that...damn shoe muncher ate my FAVORITE hat the other day! Don't know where he found it but find it, he did. Like a murder scene. Pieces strewn about the house. Horrible...horrible sight. Sniff. Poor hat. In the prime of life. Only function in life was to celebrate the World Series winner of 2001. Sniff....

Think I should use it? Maybe I'll play better. Naaaahhhhh!

On another note, big developments 'round the house here. Got an invisible fence installed today. No more puppies tormenting the neighborhood! I would like to have given them an acre or so to run around but them mutts are diggers. Decided to just do a small area around the side of the house. Man, you should have seen them puppies jump when shocked for the first time! Real training starts bright and early tomorrow. Local dog whisperer is planning to show up bright and early meaning that I am gonna have to be off far earlier than normal. Looks like it works from first impressions...

Hey  Joe--am so sorry to hear about your troubles.
It's perfectly normal & natural to feel what you're feeling & think what you're thinking.
They were such a huge part of your past  & even though it ended on a mad/sad note, you had the courage  to pick yourself up, dust yourself off & start all over again.
And you're not betraying anyone so don't even think that.
It was a chapter of your life & now a piece of it's missing so keep in touch with your friend & hold your husband & kids
It will get better !!
Sending Kleenex's your way !!
MUCH METAL LOVE TO YOU, MY FRIEND

[Healer] Wednesday, September 10, 2008 8:31:53 PM
Hey Joe, I'm really sorry about your loss.  You shouldn't feel quilty at all.  I know I would be very upset if I found out my ex-boyfriend(in my case, 1st love) passed away suddenly.  When someone has been such a huge part of your life, good and bad it's normal to feel such strong emotions.  Could be a feeling of unfunished business or something.  I think your emotions are natural and hooking up with your past friend I think will help you move on and forgive.  Good Luck with everything and just remember, "Keep the Faith!"

That is a really sad tale, Joe. Personally, I don't think that it is wrong to feel such emotions. Perfectly natural, in fact. I recently learned that a guy I barely knew past high school died recently and I still feel upset about it. Heck, I couldn't even really call him a "friend" but he was still someone I knew and feel the loss just the same. I can only imagine what you must be feeling.

Much metal love, my friend.

Hello Metal Family,

I'm in need of some love tonight... I caught up with my childhood best friend. We stopped talking to each other thirteen years ago because of a guy that screwed up our friendship, well, we were an unoficial item.. everyone knew we were together and then out of the blue, he shacks up with my best friend behind my back. Because I felt so betrayed by the two people who ment the most to me at the time, I lost it and said some very choice words to both of them; severed ties and dissapeared. I walked away from everything I knew and started over again in a new town...

So thirteen years go by and we get in touch. I figured the two of them would be happily married or whatever equivelent there was for them. To find out from her that not only did they have five years of a rocky relationship and broke up in the end but, he drowned five years ago.

I feel lost all over again. I'm in a happy marriage with the best husband and kids so why am I feeling such a loss over this guy again?
To confuse things more, I'm overjoyed that my friend and I made up but I feel I'm betraying her and my husband by feeling so lost over this guys death?

I think a great cover song should sound as though its the covering band's own creation, not just a rented song. Not make it a complete imitation of said song, but taking it and shaping it until it sounds fresh and new. It should make the listener forget (at least for a while) that the song is originally from another band.

Topsy turvy! You sure 'bout that? OPENED with it? They closed with it when they opened for Priest here in the States. They opened Priest with Wake up Dead / Hook in Mouth / Hangar 18.

Closed with it. Played it after Holy Wars and Peace sells at the end. My low-point, actually. That is why I remember it so well.

Ya know, I DO have a thought (happens every now and again) about it. Hearing Helter Skelter by Motley Crue today. Made me think of JUST that thought. IMO, they made it their own. Did a fine job of it but didn't stray far from the original.

[Head banger] Monday, September 08, 2008 10:07:25 PM
ok, what makes a great cover song?

IMO a great cover song needs to be recognizable as a cover, but not the same.  listened to some Iron maiden cover today (forget who, doing Rime...) and it sucked.  sounded like they were trying to sound exactly the same.  if they succed in sounding the same, then whats the point, if they fail, then they fail.

never heard fleetwood mac's Green manalishi, but, priest hit it well with Diamonds, and jonny be goode.  changed, but similar, yet their own.

any thoughts?

Priest not only didn't let me down, they picked me up dusted me off and set me up on cloud 9! Almost (and I do mean almost) worth the years of waiting. I am just impatient and they are just too damn good! Only regret is that I only got to see them once this tour. Better than most, I know...

Take care of yourself, my friend. Hope you feel better soon.

Better get to bed as I have been feel pretty lousy. I have had a ripper of a headache since Mon. Take Care talk to you soon.

Cool!

Since CO? Hmmm....another month in Brazil. There should still be a couple of pics in the "picture of you" thread. Went for a bit of travel and ran the 1/2 marathon in Rio.
Still eclipsed by the BIG trip. PRIEST! I certainly cherish it more. They weren't coming to me so I had to go to them.  As I said, gotta keep your priorities straight!

Speaking of which, do post a pic of that tat when you get it done...well, provided it doesn't violate Freeze's sense of decorum, that is!

Hello. I hope everyone is doing well. Summer is over and I am back at work. I cannot believe it, I spent a good deal of my time going to see concerts.  Not a bad way to spend the summer days and evenings here in Colorado. Or any where for that matter. Priest has not yet set a date for CO. I am and have been waiting on pins and needles. For those who have been lucky enough to see them already I am jealous.

Prophecy was the only one they broadcast all the way through (and it was good). Went to the end credits with BTL. Also announced, though, that the whole concert could be heard on Jimmy Kimmel Live.net. Haven't looked myself but I bet it shows up in a day or so like most live shows post them.
