Jazz in the neck position is stock, so you'd have to swap that out, and that would add another $75 to the extra grand you are paying for binding, an OFR, and ebony. It may be time for a pro set up. Might need a truss rod adjustment and a fret level and polish by now, so I would consider having it done....

Open question here. I have been adjusting my Jackson for lower action and have the strings at 2.5mm between the 12th and 13th frets. With the Jumbo frets that Jackson uses this puts them right on the deck with just a hint of buzz. This still seems high to me and is driving me crazy. I`m thinking that with the height of these frets, maybe I should just get used to it. OR... should I look into a fret leveling job and bring them down a bit??? been checking prices and wow is that pricey. The local shop that has done lot`s of work in the past for me, the owner retired and closed up. So now this has forced me to look elsewhere.
So should I just get used to it? Or look into getting the work done? |

The only difference in construction of the KE2 and KE5 is the binding and fingerboard wood, so that is just a matter of preference. Personally I have really been more into bolt ons lately, so I would go for the KE3 myself. If buget was no issue or someone was giving it to me, I would gladly accept a KE2, though. The JS30KE does absolutely nothing for me, a Kelly should never have dot inlays... [Show/Hide Quoted Message] (Quoting Message by Bazooka Joe from Sunday, October 18, 2009 11:28:24 PM)
