It's the complete opposite of here, I get confussed about the time over there. I bet Jet Lag is serious business first couple of days for people visiting from here. But like when I went to Greece I forced myself to stay up the whole day regarless of the time I had been up just to not be jet lagged when I woke up.

Yeah i think it scared the crap outta her, so the best reaction was to laugh it off. She had a friend drown recently at an unpatrolled beach, so when we went to the beach for xmas she was giving me the biggest lecture on swimming between the flags... Im such a cat, i wont go in past my waist anyways, I got caught in a sand ditch when i was young, lucky i had a board to help me stay afloat... so freaky...

My mum had to be rescued about 2 years back.... she got caught in a rip... I watched it happen, it's pretty scary you see one or two waves go over someones head then they're 50 meters out... Though when the lifeguards got her back to shore she started laughing at me... I wonder whether or not it was on purpose.....

OMG... I don't know what info they are feeding the overseas immigration market about Australia... yes we may have snakes and spiders, but to my knowledge so does the Arizona desert?... Seriously in all my life i have never been biten by spider or snake. I have seen maybe 2 - 3 snakes in my lifetime and that includes my time living in the outback. 
I always come across this unhealthy fear about the wildlife in my country.... it's so sad, personally i think lots of people are missing out on a lot of the natural beauties that this country posseses.... ((end rant))

Nope. It's not a very common tortilla in Mexico (I doubt they even sell it there). I've been to Mexico several times and have never heard of potato tortillas. It was either maiz or arina.

We say tortillas in English just tortillas (although its said a bit differently compared to its pronounciation in Spanish). I've never heard of tortillas de papa, though. I've eaten tortillas de maiz, arina y de trigo but not of papa. I bet it's really tasty!!

In Greece they take three hours off in the afternoon and leave work. There is noise ordinance at that time. Not all businesses but banks, Government, that type of stuff. I personally would hate to have to go back to work after being off a few hours. The sun in the summer doesn't set till around 10 though.

3 hour lull? are you refering to naps?.... well sleeping in the afternoon is something that older people do or young people that arrived home at 9 am after a looooong party or some like that.... is not that people eats late because they sleep in the afternoon.. I was always surprised how in some parts of the planet they eat dinner way too early, like around 7 pm ar something, at what hour they go sleep?  weel, but that's just me

I don't technically work outside, but I load and unload trucks that back up to the bay doors and they ARE outside, NO heat for me in the back of the trucks...more like hot/cold/hot/cold...

Do you work outside in this mess of weather? I would be so hating life! I even have a space heater under my desk at work because I get so cold.
