Yeah it's been a good while! How thing's going? Just got back from Niagara Falls last week after the Maiden show in Cleveland. That f*#kin' rocked! The Falls was great but the city around it looks like it was bombed!! LOL!! I can't believe it. It was awesome growing up there. If the Casino wasn't there, nobody else would be either. Anyway, glad to be back on the board here. Nostradamus is great!! Are you going to Molson Center to see them? I'm going to the Pittsburgh show...

| Before I bought and listened to Nostradamus, I checked some early reviews. Some good, some not so good. Last night, I played it for the first time, and from beginning to end, and I cranked it baby. Normally, it takes me a few times of playing the whole cd to really start to enjoy it. But not this time. This cd is spectacular. The sound is huge. There is so much going on, you just sit there and say to yourself that no other metal band, and very few bands in general, have put together such a surrounding wall of music on one cd. I can't believe some of the bad reviews out there. One moron even referred to mediocre albums like Hell Bent and British Steel. That goes to show you how ridiculous some people are, to call those two classics mediocre. I will say, this album is not like anything they have ever done. Doesn't sound anything like SWOD. The sound is much "thicker" and heavier here. Lost Love is Before The Dawn taken to a new level. A truly beautiful song. I could go on and on. Give it a chance, you'll see. Judge for yourself and do not listen to any reviews at all! |

Help! I have developed a nervous twitch. I am unable to keep my finger from hitting the repeat button at the end of Alone! I know there is great music to follow but my finger just keeps hitting repeat. Hopefully it's not a permanent condition?

After listening to Nostradamus many times, I think it's a very good album. I'd be lying if I said every song grabs me or that I think it's a masterpiece. But I really appreciate Priest trying something different and using new sounds. I like the moody, gothic sounds, the mid-tempo, and Halford's restrained voice--gives the album some soul. "Alone" is my favorite, and I also like "War," "Conquest," "Persecution," and "Exiled." I will add these 5 to my Priest favorites.

This record make feel PROUD about my favorite band. It's a fucking Masterpice, It's the way I see it. Nostradamus is a long travel to past, I mean the prophet's life and 70's Priest, reminds Sin after Sin or SWOD, guess what!!, I knew this would happening, there was not way to make a conceptual album about Nostradamus. Rob' vocal range is low but majestic, almost opheratic.., I loved Nostradamus, I hope that band will performing entire it in this tour, Judas, I'm Looking forward the gig in Santiago, Chile!!...

Nostradamus is an amazing work of art. Who could have ever imagined so many musical effects and rich orchestral movements mixed with heavy metal guitars. I am completely blown away...it is a metal masterpiece- of epic proportions.
I think it would be awesome to make this album into a feature length film, not unlike Pink Floyd's "The Wall", but bigger and heavier!!

I may not have the cd. But I did hear to most of the songs from the cd. It's not that hard to figure out. You don't have to listen to the whole cd from begining to end to get a feel for it. All in all, an incredible CD. 9 out of 10. |

| I haven't got the cd yet. But I am listening to some of the songs from youtube. I think that Priest just went back to the old style. If you haven't been a fan for long time you probably won't {well I shouldn't say won't} but will have a hard time with the new cd. That's the style they started with. I like what I am hearing. Just reminds me of the old days. If you think of the song Dreamer Deceiver, That's what the new cd reminds me of. { I am listening to the song Alone} Alone has a lot of elements of Dreamer Deceiver. But this is just my opinion. I love the old stuff. Also Epitaph, comes to mind. If you havent heard the old stuff, you should go and listen to it. You'll find the it sounds similar. So they aren't really doing anything that is new to them. Most of the young fans aren't familiar with the old stuff. So they are going to question it. The use of a piano, is nothing new or acoustic guitars. |

I have still not listened to the whole thing but I couldnt disagree with MYSELF from a few days ago, more! I am hearing a lot of different shades to this music and hearing different things each time I listen to the few I have listened to. I will devote time Saturday to the whole recording and I can safely say now towards myself....Open mouth, insert foot!!!! This is a great recording!

I received my Deluxe Edition Tuesday, and immediately popped it into my laptop (I hooked in my external speakers for better quality sound). I am very much impressed by the production and the musicianship exhibited. Rob's vocals are incredible. I know the man can't scream like he did in his golden years, but seriously, who can? Robert Plant sure as hell can't, and in fact I think only Bruce Dickinson of Iron Maiden is the only one left out of the creme de la creme of top notch vocalists from the 80's who still can. But I don't let that deter from what I think of the songwriting. Overall, I think it's masterful and very well done (albeit with a couple Spinal Tap-like moments).
Like a few you, I agree that CD1 is much more heavier than the second disc. However, I think the uniqueness of that 2nd CD is what makes this such a special album. Pestilence and Plague, Death, Prophecy, and Nostradamus are the tracks which stand out the most to me. While I know there are plenty of you who don't care for the acoustic guitars and synths and those interludes between the main tracks, I personally enjoy them and love how everything is tied in so the album flows seamlessly!
All in all, an incredible CD. 9 out of 10. |

Its always the same, middle aged dudes who are over 30,40 tend to hate the new stuff cause they are stuck in a rut of listening to what they perceive to be metal or the sound of Judas Priest. (Not all over 30's i may add so no offence) Well they have tried something different and i personally think it is great to see them doing something bold and refreshing. As for vocals, Halford is getting old and you really can't slate him for that but i think his singing voice is still very much in tact and awesome as always. If you were a fan of the band and cared about them at all as a fan you would have said something on the lines of this, "I don't really like the new album, however i really admire what they tried to do but it just isn't my cup of tea". But you took it a step too far and have made a mockery of Priest. Something tells me that you haven't had the time to listen to it more than once either, the tracks start to sound better after a few listens.

I loved the new album...its a strange concept that acutally works and they do tell a story. I normally don't like instrumentals on heavy metal albums, however, this was so amazing (and fit with the other songs) that it sounded like a movie soundtrack.
I liked both CDs equally for different reasons...disc 2 was a little slower, but I LOVE the song Visions, and the title track of course. The first disc was a lot heavier. But i loved everything! I'm a happy camper!  |

Well...I just finished hearing both CDs. Here's my first impression (it might change as I listen to the album some more):
CD#1: I really enjoyed the first CD, with Dawn of Creation, Prophecy, Peace, Sands of Time, Persecution, Revelations and Death being my favorites. I thought of the album as a musical with only the music, and I could come up with the situation that is going on during the instrumental interludes in my mind.
In a way, the small interludes between the major songs gave the impression of Nostradamus' life happening within the Renaissance period (with the string instruments and everything). The synthesizers give it a futuristic touch, which I thought was pretty cool, as it is about the prophet.
CD#2: The second CD was a little too slow for me, but Exile, New Beginnings, Nostradamus, and Future of Mankind stand out in this second CD as my favorites. Alone was too repetitive IMO, especially near the end, and I didn't like Visions too much. Calm Before the Storm and the rest of the songs help pick up the pace in the end.
Overall, while a little slow in some parts (in music and lyrics), the album is great and I enjoyed the musical journey the band took me through the life and prophecies of Nostradamus, and I hope to listen to it some more. It probably won't be my #1 favorite, but I'll listen to it when I feel like going through a musical journey.
I give it an 8.5/10!  |

Well, I do think that it's better than Turbo,Ram It Down,Jugulator and Demolition.....out of 16 studio albums JP has done now...Nostradamus comes in at #12 in my opinion. There are 11 LPs that top this,but it is very well put together and very excellent/powerful piece of music...just not one of my faves.

My husband picked us up both the hardbound book & the standard cd versions at BestBuy, first thing yesterday morning!  First opportunity I had, I downloaded the cds onto my iPod (I will get to listen to some of it on the commute home later on today), and also ordered up the complimentary gig tickets. 
Wow, it's really awesome that Priest is doing this for the fans, in this economic crunch-time!   This is the first time for me that I got free tix with purchase of a cd! I spread the news around to my friends who haven't bought tickets to the gig yet.
Can't wait to listen to the epic! in full!  I'm sure my husband will be blaring it out of his car this weekend & beyond. |

Well i got it yesterday ,and i say you got a piece of metal history right there ,yes its diffrent ,but how many times have they changed from one album to the other? ,many times and they always managed to please us the preists fan ,this time they did it again ,instead of turning in circles like many other bands they go forward,i v been a fan since 79/80 ,and by the looks of things i will be for a loooong time ,i just love what they did with the keyboards and syth guitars ,it also seems to me like they v put some songs that reminds you of almost every album s they did before and yet its diffrent ,i love it   |

I only heard the 2 samples on this site til today when i got to buy it!I love Robs voice he finally sings for a change and not screaming much!The whole thing is awesome!Great job and it is worth the wait that is for sure!

| I love this album, I don't even know how many times I've listened to it today. I am in awe of Robs new vocal style. It doesn't have to many of those high pitched screams of might that were used to, but his new style is so oprahtic. And then the musical portion of it, I say kudos to Glenn, K.K., Ian, and Scott. It really shows the bands maturity, and how they've grown as musicians. I love how each song gives off a different effect, weather its the very doom sounding (for lack of a better term) War, through the transition from Sands of Time into Pestilence and Plague which I thought sounded incredible, to the song Alone which gives me chills every time I listen to it, up to the fast paced Nostradamus, I have to say that this is a masterpiece. It has some of the older priest elements, like Visions reminds me of 80's priest, Nostradamus reminds me of the Painkiller days. I think the album in a way goes through there career musically. It starts off slow and then for me really comes out in the song Pestilence and Plague, reminding me of how British Steel put them on the map. And then eventually get to Nostradamus, which like I said before was like painkiller up through Angel of Retribution. Than of course is the Future of Mankind, well I guess I'll have to wait for that one. This is my view on the new album, fantastic job guys, couldn't be more impressed. |

Alright! I have the album and I must say it is quite impressive and listening just to the first two track on it it makes one be in awe of its atmosphere. I like a different approach to a genre every so often and this is an excellent album put out by Judas Priest. It reminds me if Epica's Divine Conspiracy album was melded with Judas Priest's Sad Wings of Destiny album and it is just mindblowing in some parts. I need to listen to it some more to really let it grow on me and pick out my favorites. Plus I got the full box set at Best Buy and is an awesome collector's edition. What does everyone else think so far? I'll be off to work but will be back on when I get home. Talk to everyone in a little bit!

Well as in every new cd.. I must say.. there are songs I love.. and song that I just like.. I cannot say I do-not like the album.. It is different from The Priest we are/ were used to.. But change is good.. I dont mind what I have heard so far!!!!!!!! Iam still istening to it!!!!!!!!!!!..lol
Glenn And KK sound great.. Scott sounds awesome on the drums.. And I feel Rob's voice is sounding very good.. Ian is sounding great too..
Remember,, these guys are-not kids anymore.. LOL.. ( maybe at heart).. So what they have done with this album.. I feel is great!.. I dont mind the difference.. They will always be my Judas Priest.... Forever.. |

A fantastic album, one of Priest's best albums. It's definetly up there with AOR, Painkiller and Sad Wings. Speaking of Sad Wings, I must say that a lot of the songs on this album do remind me of that album. It's probably to do with the tempo. In short this album is a masterpiece. Rob's vocals are epic, especially on Exiled, Pestilence and Plague and Death. Glenn and KK's guitar work is as good as ever, they are fantastic at making even the slow songs sound quite heavy. Ian has finally had a chance to shine! The bass is very prominent in a lot of the songs and it's fantastic as I think that Ian has taken the back seat for too long! Scott's drumming is top notch as always, especially, of course, on the title track. Using interludes and preludes was a fantastic idea. It makes the whole album flow and on mnay occasions it sent shivers down my spine especially when Shadows in The Flame links to Visions and when The Four Horsemen links to War.
Before I got the album (I refused to listen to it online :P) I had read quite a few negative reviews of the album, but I think that Nostradamus' critics have been proven wrong! This album is a triumph and is at least Priest's 3rd best album (I still can't decide what order AOR, Nostradamus and Sad Wings should be in lol) WELL DONE JUDAS PRIEST ON AN OUTSTANDING ALBUM AND A FANTASTIC SHOW AT DOWNLOAD 2008!
