Hails to the New England Patriots,I hope Tom Brady gets the P-men to the Super Bowl for the 5th time,if he wins it he will join Joe Montana and Terry Bradshaw with "4" Super Bowl Rings!!!

You two are just as pathetic as me. My Browns are getting better but with all the injuries I don't see them winning again this year. SUCKS!

The Browns are my alltime favorite team because of the mid 1980's when Bernnie Kosar was QB with Byner at RB,Webster Slaughter,Reggie Langhorn,Ozzie Newsome they had a killer team which played in 3 AFC Championship games in the 80's but they were beaten by John Elway's Broncos....all 3 of them! I remember it well. They were so close to the Super bowl, however if they would of won all 3 they would of faced Phil Simm's Giants in 86' then the Washington Redskins in 87' and Joe Montana's 49ers in 89' so they would of probly lost those Super Bowls but you never know.  They need a great QB with a great offensive line, thats what they need.

Im a viking fan for a long time , since the joe kapp days. my favorite in the nfc
really sad to see how poorly they've done this year . i had high hopes for them

Im also an unashamed wholehearted supporter of my beloved browns !!
they're getting better and i have high hopes for next season but, they make it hard to love them sometimes
i loved watching them knock the snot out of new england and new orleans !!
[J.D. DIAMOND] Thursday, November 04, 2010 3:21:21 AM
Yeah thats funny,Deanna is "hot" and it baffles me why Favre is messing around with this Jenn Sterger chick whom yes, looks alot like Deanna....Brett what are you doing???? HA HA!! Favre may not be the best qb of all time, but he still is one hell of a player and he has balls man,no the Vikings will not make it to the playoffs but since this IS Favre's last season he will ever play, its still cool to see him out there.  Deanna is hot...Brett what are you doing?? lol!!

[Jeanine] Wednesday, November 03, 2010 10:36:05 PM

Well, I am glad Randy is gone too. It seems he pretty much threw that last game against his old team. Only in dreams that match up worked I guess. Now that Brett has had the snot banged out of him let's see how the rest of the year plays out. JD, I am with you that I wanted to see Brett come back this year but to suck this bad? I did not want to see that. His Dad always told him "don't come off that field until you are carried off" It looks like that is what will happen. BTW, Jen Sterger looks a lot like Deanna Favre.

[J.D. DIAMOND] Wednesday, November 03, 2010 3:33:45 PM
Favre couldn't do "shit" with Moss anyways so its no real loss. I'm glad Favre came back for one more season but fuckin a is it hard to watch or what? I mean this guy throws the most "stupid" interceptions you've ever seen! Jesus man he makes rookie mistakes for a 20 year veteran, and he is anything but the greatest QB to ever play the gqame Ron!! lol!!  Favre is "overrated" big time.  2-5 on the seaon and they will end up 7-9.

Hats off to Brad Childress (head coach of the Vikings) for getting rid of Randy Moss. Now they will probably fire Childerss for having a spine. Some of the players in the NFL these days make me sick. Ha!
[J.D. DIAMOND] Tuesday, October 26, 2010 3:35:03 AM
Jeanine and icecreamman, the tricky thing is that if Brett would of never came back at all this season all 3 of us would of been saying "Favre should came back just for one more season" because of how close they actually were to the Super Bowl last year in New Orleans and I think all 3 of us know it! lol!    I do think that a part of it is Brett's "scandle" with this "Jen Sterger"  chick he is somehow involved with (Brett...WTF are you thinking???...your wife is hot! lol!)") because I don't think he is 100% focused on the game no matter how hard he tries and the other part is the rhythm of the offense which is also part of Brett's fault but for some reason Adrian Peterson can't run worth a shit on 3rd down?

I mean on first and second down he is getting the openings from the offensive line but on 3rd down it just isn't happening and I am giving credit to the other teams they have played but come on....every 3rd down and short?  I still am glad Favre gave it a shot but with this chick scandle.....it just "can't happen" in sports and if it does you won't be  winning any championships because of the distractions that go with it.

Brett dug himself into a hole is right because its hard enough to win in the NFL. I really do think besides Brett's off-field problems there really is something wrong with the entire team, this isn't the same team we all saw last season, but neither is the Cowboys haha!! I do know its hard to watch Favre throw balls away to the other team....what the fuck was that on Sunday night out there?

Favre was just panicking and thowing the ball up for grabs,he has got to realize that there is nothing wrong with "punting" the ball away. How  many times have we seen a punt and the other team fumbles the ball? Many times, that doesn't mean its going to happen but its better to punt the ball away than just throw it up for grabs and have it picked off and ran back for a TD like Brett did on Sunday in Green Bay,it is just sick to see that sloppy football play from Favre,we all know he can do better than that.

There comes a time in a NFL players career were hehas to admit he is done. Brett has had a little trouble with that. I just hope he does not come back next year!
[Jeanine] Monday, October 25, 2010 10:32:07 PM
J.D., Ron, Hellriderrrrrr,

I am a little upset with Brett at the moment. He dug this hole. It was a great game on Monday but now Brett supposedly has two fractured ankles, two!  Randy must not be very happy right now. Though he could try to make Tavaris look good because it looks like Tavaris will be starting. I have never said this before but I think Brett may be done. He has NEVER had to face not starting a game before. This might be the emotional downfall. Of course, he may need a distraction from that whole sexting scandal.
[J.D. DIAMOND] Monday, October 25, 2010 5:14:28 PM
I'm glad Favre came back for one more year because of the great season he had last year with the Vikings, but man is this shit hard to watch or what? Vikings fall to 2-4 on the season and are headed up to New England this sunday where the Patriots are 5-1 so it doesn't look good for Favre and the Vikings but thats why they play the game as they say right. Yes there is a chance of a Vikings win but the odds are really piling up against it man,if they lose this sunday they will fall to 2-5 and then they have a chance at beating the Arizona Cardinals the next week at Minnesota but that isn't even a given by the way they are playing this year,it is very sad to watch.

I'm soooo sick of these fuckers winning by the reffs mis-calls,its fucking bullshit, the Dolphins clearly landed on Rothlisburger's fumble in the fuckin end zone and the reffs give it to Pittsburgh,I'm tired of it! [J.D. DIAMOND] Tuesday, October 12, 2010 1:52:31 PM
Vikings lose again 29-20 to the J.E.T.S. Jets Jets Jets!!!!!!  Fucking a man,Favre had a chance with 1:29 down 22-20 ball on the viking's own 20 yard line,2 time outs and ....BAM! Another interception Brett throws. He also passed Warren Moon for the most fumbles in league history,as well as he became the only player with over 70,000 yards passing throughout his career. Favre is good, but he is "forcing" shit way too much.

The Vikings now are 1-3 with 12 games left. I'll bet they end up 7-9 and miss the playoffs,8-8 at best guys. At least there is one thing good coming out of the Vikings losing season....Favre will definately 100% for sure "retire" after the season is over and this time he is finished,kaput,done....and he will not be coming out of retirement blah blah blah,no more "Favre watch" anymore lol! Fuck that was irritating!

What a "let down" Favre and the Vikings gave the fans, but thats football.Still, they should be at least 3-1 instead of 1-3....."pathetic". Especially coming from a team who was in over time in the NFC Championship game last year on the verge of making it to the Super Bowl and now this shit? Fuck man,I'll bet Favre wishes now he was still on the couch watching the games instead of rolling around the feild losing every game.

The Dallas Cowboys play at Mall Of America feild (Minnesota) this Sunday.......I'll bet the shitty 1-3 losing Cowboys find a way to beat the pathetic Vikings......no?

Well J.D., honestly the way this season has started out....I will take any wins .  Why not go out "All Guns Blazing"? It is something I think we all wanted to see "Favre to Moss", I just hope to see something spectacular and not a flop. I know it could go either way. I love Brett but I know now is the time to put up or shut up. He has wanted Moss for quite a while, now he has him. They both better show up on Monday.

[J.D. DIAMOND] Thursday, October 07, 2010 1:53:46 AM
Yes getting Randy Moss will help things out for the Vikings. They are 1-2 right now and I'll bet after 8 games they will be 3-5 or 4-4 at best.....I'm putting my money on 3-5 after 8 games. I sure hope I'm wrong here because if they go 3-5 chances are they will end up 9-7 and miss the playoffs, lets see what they will do with Moss. Chalk up a loss already for Monday night because even if Moss plays I don't think they can beat the New York Jets in New York,I just can't see it Jeanine but again,I sure hope I'm wrong because I want the Vikings to win!

There's a fine line in the NFL between the good and the bad.  After 4 weeks of watching Detroit play, they can just as easily be 4-0 as they are 0-4.  I know that's no consolation for Lions fans, but every team they've lost to were lucky to have won.

Now, I loathe all teams from New York and this is no secret.  I'm hoping the Bears can squeak out of there with a win tonight!!

[J.D. DIAMOND] Tuesday, September 21, 2010 2:11:34 AM
Dude yeah,Cutler looked like a pro bowler out there lol! Right after I said he sucks...boom he had 21 comp. of 29 att. 72% 277 yards  3 tds with no Ints!!!!!  How did he do it ron?? lol! Yeah but he is like a ticking time bomb thats over due to explode...you know he'll throw a game losing pick one of these games this season lol!

About Favre....yeah he isn't in rhythm and they are 0-2 but I'm glad he had the balls to come back man,so they are 0-2....the big game is sunday against the Lions lol!

And actually the Bills only had one close Super Bowl it was thier first...they lost 20-19 to the New York Giants because Scott Norwood missed the game winning field goal. The next 3 Super Bowls the lost to Washington 37 -24,they lost to Dallas 52-17 and then again to Dallas 30-13.

Hey,going back to Favre....all of a sudden the Lions of all teams are like a Super Bowl champion waiting for the Vikings  cause if the Vikings fall 0-3 then mentally I don't think they can pull themselves out of it.If they beat Detroit on Sunday then maybe they can still hope for a 10-6 perhaps? If they can get into the playoffs on a roll then they can be a spoiler to another team's season haha!!

I have to agree with Diamond here about Joe Montana, although I couldn't ever stand the guy. lol The 49ers always had a chance with Montana and he came through with the big plays. One thing though, the teams they beat in those superbowls were pretty weak in my opinion, Bengals, Dolphins, pre Shanahan - Terrell Davis Broncos. I feel sorry for the 49ers because they probably will never have another dynasty quaterback like Montana. lol

Did you get to see any of that Bears / Cowboys game?  I didn't think Cutler was gonna make it out of the first quarter with all his arms and legs attatched!!!  That 'D' was putting him on his back hard on every single play.  I don't know how he kept getting up!!

What I did like, and was suprised about, was that he went on the attack.  You wanna stack the line, I'll short pass you to death.  Next thing you know, were heading downfield in H U G E chunks!!  3 TD's, 0 INT's!!

Our 'D' stepped up as well.  It was nice seeing Romo running around and making bad throws.  1 TD, 2 INT's.

We have a huge test next Monday night at home against the Packers, can't wait for that game!!

Yeah, I think Favre is wishing he would have retired after last season!!

Yeah J.D., I guess that's why I can't put Montana on the top of my list, he kicked our asses too many times!!!  lol  We did beat him our fair share, but not in the important games (ie '84 NFC Championship game!!).  But Favre, we played him twice a year and he went forever and a day kicking our tails!!  Now it's Rogers turn lol.

For the record, Jim Kelly lost 2x because of a missed FG, not 4 like my post alluded to.

Fuckin A Ron,Minnesota falls 0 -2 !  What a bummer,at 0-2  I'm wondering if they can make the playoffs this year?  Game 3 next week Minnesota hosts the Detroit Lions....if they lose to the Lions the season is definately "O.V.E.R.".

I'm glad Favre still came back though, how could he of not after last season's sucess going 12-4 making it to the NFC Championship game, but after this season especially starting at 0-2...if they end up 9-7 and miss the playoffs then Favre will DEFINATELY retire after the seaon is over and this time it will be for good,no off season drama, this is it. Favre looks like shit this season so far but he is still in my top 10 best QBs. of all time. There is just now way he is better than Joe Montana! HAHA!!

How about your Bears though eh,2-0? lol! The Dallas Cowboys are in the same situation as the Vikings now, both 0-2 and now may miss the playoffs...maybe your bears will win the NFC North? Who would of thought that the Bears would be doing far better than the Vikings or Cowboys? You of course lol!

LOL! Ron.....yes Joe had a great team, but Steve Young couldn't do what Joe did, sure he won a Super Bowl ring and it was against the lowly weak SanDiego Chargers! lol! And I don't just say that Joe is the best because John Madden says so,I've followed Joe throughout his entire Career!

And Ron...Joe did NOT fall "flat on his face" with the Chiefs,he took that team all the way to the AFC Champinionship game, one game away from the super bowl ron!!!  The next season he took them to the wild card playoffs and lost to Miami, but at least they made it to the playoffs.

And Favre won at the Jets? They didn't even make the playoffs when he went to the Jets!  Farve had a great cast around him at Green bay too. Farve is great I agree,he has all the records to prove it...including the most interceptions ever thrown HAHA!!

And jim Kelly yes,I used to hate that guy because he beat every team I liked in the playoffs but he was absolutely NOT "one place kicker away from being a 4 time Super Bowl winner himself"...not even close,he was a place kicker away from beating the Giants (Buffalow's first Super bowl)...the other 3 Super Bowls in a row...they got thier asses kicked! LOL!  But I still rate Kelly in the top 5 QBs.

Montana retired when he was 38,but he had a severe back injury,wrist,shoulder..ect....much more than Favre ever had. Montana was better than Favre in my book, but I'm not here to convince you other wise,I know who the best is HAHA!!!

It takes a team to win,and Montana didn't win by himself, yes he had an incredible cast around him,but I saw him make plays in the clutch when it was up to him and his choices of where to throw to and when....something Favre and many other QB's have not been able to do including Steve Young and Brett Favre.

Joe made many of these "clutch" throws and because of them,he took the 49ers to 4 Super Bowls and won them all with 3 Super bowl MVPs. (7 NFC Championship game appearences as well). I've never seen anything like Joe since.

Yes there are many greats,I'm not saying Montana is "far" above other QBs,but he is just out of reach at the top for other qb's to get to.Yes the only other QB that has 4 Super Bowl rings is Terry Bradshaw, and that guy was excellent, not as high of passer rating as Joe,but still great.I think Steve Young actually had a higher passer rating than Joe did,but Joe overall was the all time great.  I'd say the best 5 qbs of all time would be: And I'm not just giving credit because the QB played in a Super Bowl,I'm giving them credit for thier achievements throughout thier careers:

Joe Montana(4 Super Bowls wins,3 Super Bowl MVPs)

John Elway  (the only qb to play in 5 Super bowls, won the last 2 back to back)

Terry Bradshaw(4 Super bowl wins)

Tom Brady(4 Super Bowl appearences and 3 titles)

Jim Kelly(4 straight Super Bowl appearences,no titles but pretty impressive)

I'd put Favre at #6.(2 Super bowl appearences, one title)

Joe Montana made the smartest choices when passing the football,I saw it,yet others will say "he just had a great team"......if that were ture, than Steve Young would of won 6 Super bowls.

This is all just my opinion Ron,and I will accept that for you Favre is the best, thats all good, but I always defend Joe Montana! I do hope Favre  takes the Vikings to the Super Bowl, but that just aint gonna happen,it would be too good to be true, the Saints will go back to the big dance this year unfortunately.

J.D., you make me laugh bud!!  lol  Sometimes I post things just to stir things up, but this isn't one of them.  Joe Montana was a great QB, that is a fact, but the best ever??  And because John Madden says so does nothing to give credibility to it (I quit drinking his 'kool-aid' a long time ago lol).

Montana was fortunate to have a pro-bowl offense, period.  That West Coast style that Bill Walsh brought to San Fran is what made Joe.  It was such a great system that Steve Young, a QB who couldn't cut it with the woeful Buccaneers became a pro-bowler.  Joe went to the Cheifs and fell flat on his face!

Now take Bret Favre.  As much as I hate the Packers, he's the best ever in my book.  Not only did he win there, he went to the Jets and won and now he's winning with the Vikes.  He's playing well into his 40's and is continuing to have a positive impact on his team.  Offseason theatrics aside, he's a differencemaker on the field and he's done it year in and year out regardless of the talent level he has to play with.  He's never had a Rathman, Roger Craig, Jerry Rice to play with.

Sure, Joe has all those SB rings and MVP's, but he had a hell of a cast around him.  Look and Jim Kelly, one place kicker away from being a 4 time SB winner himself (with the stats to go with it)!!

Montana would be in my top 5, but Favre would be #1.  And let's not forget the Bradshaw's and Staubach's and Namath's and Fouts's and Kelly's and Elway's.  Montana, hands down, had the most offensive weapons of them all...except maybe Aikman.

Zomby, time outs are used for all sorts of reasons, but mainly they are used to stop the clock so you can go over to the sideline and talk to the coach about plays. If they can't get the play off in time, they'll call a timeout so they don't get a penalty, if it's the end of the game and they are trying to rush down the field for one last score, they call a time out to stop the clock so they can get set up for the next play and not waste game time. If they don't have time to get the field goal unit out on the field, they'll call a time out to stop the clock. If the coach doesn't like what he sees, he'll call a time out. So LOTS of reasons it is used, these are just some that came to mind. Managing the game clock is a very important part of this game. I hope that helps. Do you watch American football?

I don't see a problem with that rule, the guy was in too much of a hurry to get up and celebrate like most players these days, If you can't hold on to the ball than you don't deserve a tochdown. One rule that I think is really dumb  "the ground can't cause a fumble". Whats up with that?

Oh yeah and what Budred was saying about Bret Favre a few post down should apply to Randy Moss. Standing up there with that crooked hat and headphones talking out the side of his mouth and whining. I can't stand that guy and can't believe Belichick puts up with that crap. No wonder they can't win a Superbowl these days.

Must chime in and agree that I like the old rule that once the ball breaks the plane....touchdown!!

Oh and Zomby is most certainly a good looking Englishman.  Thanks for the soccer/football clarity. A wise man too.
[ron h] Wednesday, September 15, 2010 2:57:59 PM
Actually, the rule change came this past off season.  If that game had been played last year, the Lions would have won the game.  Another rule change is 'momentum or pushing a receiver out of bounds'.  If you're pushed out and would have otherwise stayed in-bounds, you're still out and it's not a catch!!  Another change, though not a rule change, is the referee no longer lines up behind the defensive line.  He now lines up 12 yards behind the offensive line.  Too many 'O' plays had receivers running routes behind the 'D' line and the LB'ers were being shielded by the ref so there were easy completions...that's no longer an issue.  On the same note, if the Center snaps the ball before the ref is 12 yards back, the QB is charged with a penalty (ask Manning and the Colts about that one, he was repeatedley flagged for that in the pre-season, it's really messed up their game!!  lol).

As for Cutler, 379 yards passing at a 103 passer rating...

Sunday's game against an emotional Cowboys team in Dallas will be a truer test for the Bears than last Sunday.  Sure, the Lions are a vastly improved team than last year (RB Best is pretty damn good!!) with all the free agent signings, but nowhere near the talent of Dallas...same can be said for the Bears.  I'm looking forward to it!!

Yeah it was a catch I agree,I'll bet thats the last time Calvin Johnson lets the ball go on the grass after receiving a catch hahaha!!! If this were the 1970's or early 80's that would of been a catch! lol!  I still say that Cutler will spell the doom of the Bears in the long run Ron! lol!!

Your right HRMG!!  But the same rule applies whether it's a touchdown or on the playing field.  I personally thought it was a catch.

Which brings me to this...

The so called non-TD TD that has everybody upset isn't the end all beat all for the Lions / Bears game.  Until that last drive the Lions had (I think) 99 yards of total offense!!  They couldn't do ANYTHING against the Bears 'D'.  Yeah, they scored twice, but we gave up the ball 4 times (twice deep)!!  And that doesn't include a dropped TD by us on like the 3rd play of the game.  The Lions 'D' had no answer to the Bears 'O'.  They marched up and down the field at will against them...again, Bears turnovers and penalties are why the game was even close at the end.  By my calculations, the Bears could of / should have easily won the game 35 or 42 to 0.

But I wholeheartedly agree...that WAS a TD catch in my book and the Bears are lucky to have escaped with a win!!

J.D.......DALLAS is next!!!!!  lol

I could, but it's much easier if you watch a game with someone and they explain it play by play. Too many rules..... like that must "maintain control of the ball during the entire action of a catch in order for it to be counted as a touchdown" . I say he was putting the ball on the ground to try to push himself up and then dropped it = separate action and therefore a TOUCHDOWN! He should have just stayed on his back until they gave him the touchdown and THEN got up!

You got that right J.D.!! The Lions got totally screwed on that call. But, never leave it up to the refs to decide a game I always say. But,  they are NOT the Lions of old - THANK GOD! That goal line stand at the 1/2 yard line was INCREDIBLE defense for the Lions. There were a lot of positives in that game and this year may not be as painful to be a Lions fan.  Maybe coach Schwartz pulled out his old Priest albums for them to practice to and it's been rubbing off on them?

Hey there Zomby, maybe this will help...and maybe not  lol

Some might say, simply, "because they kick the football." But the real story is deeper. The origin of Gridiron (American football) is in the history of the world's most popular sport: Football (soccer). When soccer -- more universally known as "football" (which of course makes sense because football players use their feet) -- players decided to change their centuries-old game with restrictions such as the no-use-of- hand rules, people who disliked this broke away to create rugby. In the states we have created our own version of the game under the same old name "football" (Gridiron) with more of a rugby style, the whole time forgetting why we call it that.

Are you even more confused?  I think I am!!  lol

[Budred] Tuesday, September 14, 2010 7:28:23 AM
Yeah, but our teams "run" with their feet.(LOL)
And we kick punts, kick field goals, and kick extra points so it's not like we (never) use our feet.
Oh' and American football contains a little more excitement. Sometimes it's so much fun to watch
someone from a team you hate getting blasted and carted off the field. (Sorry), I'm like that.
One thing our football has in common with yours is the drunken fans ruining it for everyone else.
A little alcohol always lead to a loud mouth. Some people tend to forget that families come to these events.
I'm glad you enjoy your soccer like we enjoy our football. There really is no reason to compare the two.
Peace.

We'll see. They have some injury problems that may have hurt them and some bonehead penalties that definitely
hurt them. Curious to see how they respond. And I wish they'd sack the coach. I'm not blaming him for last night's loss

Actually Favre did beat Dallas once before, but it was in Green Bay. He had never beaten the Cowboys in Dallas. The Cowboys were a thorn in Green Bay's side, I hated them at the time. I actually like Troy Aikman now and love Emmit Smith. He is a class act all the way. I cried during his induction speech. (I am such a girl). Budred, I do understand your hatred. I really do. lol! Yeah but you've got to remember that Favre had never beaten Dallas "ever" in his entire career,I think he was like 0-5 against them as he didn't play them every year but yeah it was his first victory over the Cowboys so thats why he was doing a little extra cellebrating haha!!  Tony Romo must improve this season,we'll see tomarrow night at Washington.Even if Romo struggles its still only the first game,I wouldn't start to panic till they are 0-2,then the 3rd game is a must win or the Cowboys are toast, same with the Vikings and every other team in the NFC except for the Saints, they can lose 4 straight games and bam no problem they will be in the Super Bowl.Isure hope not,yes it was cool to see them win last year but I'd rather see Dallas or Minnesota in the Bowl, don't really like Aaron Rogers and Green Bay that much, the Giants are on a downslide and there aren't many more NFC teams left that are that worthy of a run.

I agree wholeheartedly. Minnesota was better. I just didn't dig the way Favre acted afterward.
That little dance(forget what it's called) and the comments were a little immature on his part.
Lastly I work with a guy who idolizes Favre and a little time with this guy and you'll want to see
Favre get his neck snapped also. Understand, my initial post came from hatred towards Favre.
As for his ability and what he's done his talent can't be denied. I do stand by my comment that
he won't last the season. Age is taking over and I think he still hurts from last season. A little
fragile maybe. I have some pictures you may enjoy. I went to a Cowboys/Steelers game in 95'
and got some decent pics during warmups. I'll post them when I have some more time. I've been
a Cowboys fan since 76'. I was ten years old and everyone was rooting for the Steelers(Superbowl 10)
so I went with the Cowboys. They lost but I've been a fan ever since. My greatest memory was the
game I went to. Dallas is despised in Pittsburgh and Pittsburgh is despised by me so to watch
Dallas pound Pittsburgh in their own home was the greatest thing I've experienced watching sports.
