No seriously, the amount of close calls I've had on the bike are just way too many to mention. What time of the morning do you ride? I find that 5am is the best time no later than that unless it's an actual event and then I have no say on what time I'm starting but then the roads are marshalled and on some of the bigger races we get certain areas of road closure.
Come to think of it, even on Helena (the motorcycle) they don't see me that much and she's a beast of note!

I tell you what's pissing me off today, I have a really cool race tomorrow, the Tour De Vino and I am so mentally prepaired for it that I can hardly wait for the day to arrive. However, I do a weather check this morning and we've got rain predicted for the day. My start time is 8am but I need to leave home at 5am because their will be partial road closure (something every cyclist is grateful for lol). Now this means I need to get up latest around 4:30am. Still not what is pissing me off. What pisses me off is that it is pretty dangerous to ride in a bunch of like.. 20 000 nervous cyclists in the rain. Especially with slick tyres that are pretty thin. I am by no means afraid of getting wet, I'm terrified of falling. Broken collarbones is just not what I feel like risking tomorrow. If I get up at 4 30am and it looks crappy do I cox the whole idea of the ride or do I just say Feck it! I am going to do this ride and take the chance of falling if the weather is crappy?
Advice please!!!!
oh and ps: as to what I love about my country, I accept that this is my country of birth, I live here, I love it and its people warts and all. What good is living in a place if you haves absolutely no hope? There is violence and evil everywhere. Not just in South Africa.
That said Michele, I am so sorry for what happened to your parent's business and I am also very relieved that your step father as well as none of your family were harmed. I hope you are well and am glad to hear your relationship with your step dad is improving. |

WOW! Now that takes some balls to confess to you that they hit your parked car! Would have been MUCH easier to walk away. I gotta give her credit for doing the right thing. I had my car hit in the hospital parking lot while I was working and security saw the entire thing. They stopped the driver and told her she hit my car and showed her the damage and she still denied doing it! Luckily it wasn't too bad, but still! There exists a kind of people,
Who always want their way.
Sarcasm and taunt abound,
In whatever they do and say.
Always needy for help from others,
They exclaim “What is there?”
But when comes their sweet turn,
They vanish in thin air.
To be eulogized they crave,
To be praised to the hilt.
Whatever they do, is only perfect
That’s the way they are built.
They always want to be served,
By every Tom and Dick.
Whether hale and hearty,
Or when they feign sick.
To issue commands they do love,
To get their work all done.
But when comes their turn to deliver,
Then it’s no longer fun.
Fault finding is their forte,
With always a pointed finger.
Generous to their own flaws,
On a heap of excuses they linger. That’s the world of today,
With hypocrites abound.
And if you have gotta live

Trying to get a raven as a pet! Found out that it is illegal to transport them over Can/US border. (Has the government informed the wild ones flying back and forth over the border daily....That they are "breaking the law") (no pun intended) Also found out that Wildlife rescue people put them down if they cant return to the wild.... even if someone is willing to take care of them. |

It sucks being tired from work all the time. Every time I come home from work I have to take a nap...and even if I do take one I still feel tired. |

I think it has something to do with your lungs working harder when you're cycling so you get good oxygen flow to all your muscles. Also doing something with your body releases endorphins and that really helps with fatigue. Just remember to be alert, ride safe, always wear your helmet and NEVER listen to your mp3 player when you're cycling alone!
Also remember to stretch well when you get home to break down the lactic acid in your legs.
I'm off for a nice ride on my mtb bike later on today... wish you both could join me! | | Vaillant 3.0 wrote: | | HA!!!!!!!!!!! Hopefully I'll be able to reach the Canadian border by then. People who pay $100+ dollars to see a rock band then sit through the whole set while the rest of the complex is standing and rocking. Put your depends on and stay home!!!!!!!!!! |
