Its not my cup of tea either,but it is a master piece of art,just not to my likings thats all. I think that they should not have still called the project "Judas Priest". Instead they should of called it "Nostradamus",and put Judas Priest on hold till the next couple of years for the new album. Way to experimental for even JP.

Ive listened to Nostradamus many many times. It failed to hit the mark for me, Travis mailed this one in on the drums. Epic masterpiece? hardly..

Alot of drivel and moody interludes, not enough substance. 2 CDS of this? I dont believe...and heres to hopin they dont bring NSTDMS live, especially in these troubled economic times...MpleSyrp

I find most of the interlude tracks some of the albums brightest moments. As of the actual songs, Prophecy could have been great but it's too cliched to work. Most of side one I dislike, with the exception of Pestilence and Plague, which only half of it I do, and the last song Persecution, which is kick ass.

Side Two is much more enjoyable, especially Alone, though the topic is predictable, it's a topic only Priest can do with authority. But where Nostradamus fails is the two best songs are the last two tracks, therefore you have to sit through the whole album to get to them. The title track is awesome, especially the opening Opera-ish setting, and the scream once the song kicks in. But the last track, Future Of Mankind, is the only one that never seems tiring when listening to it. It has the perfect balance of Metal, Heaviness, Solos, Riffs and most of all Emotions. The solo is grabbing, lyrics are moving and atmosphere is dreamy. The way Rob yells "As my life evolves" is just so moving, and the French singing for the last verse. It is the most complete song on the entire album, and surprisingly, despite being the longest, it never feels like it is dragging.

I STILL LISTEN TO AT LEAST SEVERAL SONGS EVERY DAY, EITHER IN THE CAR OR OFF THE COMPUTER AT WORK.  THE ALBUM IS SO DIVERSE THAT I CAN FIND A SONG OR TWO FOR ALMOST ANY MOOD I AM IN. BUT THERE IS STILL NOTHING LIKE PUTTING IT ON FROM BEGINNING TO END.

I LISTENED TO ANGEL OF RETRIBUTION FOR THE FIRST TIME IN SEVERAL MONTHS, AND IT STILL SOUNDS GREAT. THE LYRICS TO DEAL WITH THE DEVIL BRING BACK SO MANY MEMORIES OF MY HIGHSCHOOL AND COLLEGE DAYS IN THE LATE 1970'S AND EARLY 1980'S. METAL RULED AND METAL FANS BEGAN TO BECOME ONE BIG FAMILY.

A few songs per day. Rarely listened to it as a whole. I just took a relisten today and it seemed awesome again, I've started liking it again but if this whole thing gets played live...I hope they inject guitar more into it and assist it, rather than lead it, with synth etc.

It has honestly not left the CD player of my car since I got it. Five cd changer too. Granted, I listen to the first more than the second cd but once day, easily.

Often continues to the gym where I'll run to the album. Masterpiece, I still say, but to each their own.

I really like Prophecy, Revelations, Conquest and Nostradamus.  I didn't know what to think when I heard this record at first.  I knew it was a concept album, but still, I'm used to songs about futuristic, Mad Max guys riding their fucking motorcycles....... I mean, I'm sure Nostradamus would have ridden a bike if he had born later.  I keep listening to it, but, I'm still confused.  I would hope that for the next album, they would be more edgy like Demolition.  I would love an album more in the vein of Machine Man, Subterfuge, and Metal Messiah.  Heavy Metal and Hard Rock are back, this is the perfect time for Prest to capitalize.  Anyhow, I love Judas Priest, I have all their albums, some are framed and are hanging on my living room walls.  I will see them in Dallas and again in Houston because they have always been so good in concert.  Nothing is better than Judas Priest at 50,000 WATTS!!

My congratulations to Priest on a MASTER PIECE!!
This album has everything one could want in variety and proves once again,why Priest is the greatest band on Earth.I absolutely LOVE every song.
I've been waiting 30 years for this album!!Yes,I'm old and yes I GET IT!

My apologies to Priest and those whom I offended a few years ago with my less than enthusiastic  response to Angel of Retribution.

This album is HOW IT'S DONE!!!

I am enjoying Nostradamus. Sure, it is not your Standard British Metal album, but there are heavy songs done in a different way. I like how Rob's voice transcends you back to the old say Sad Wings or Sin after Sin days. Althought there are a few prodding songs and some of the intro stuff are a bit long, I think you have to view it as a whole epic piece. Maybe it is a bit obscure for the new Priest fan, but for the diehards it puts alot of perspective into Priest and their careers, which is literally at the sunset. They can do what the want and it is still meaningful to me after following them for 30 years. Maybe the outside world is scratching their heads and saying why did they release this? But, this JP fan is smiling and looking forward to seeing them live again in August for the 35th time. Thanks for all the years of music and the new Nostradamus JP.

THE ANSWER - for all those still scratching their heads over the latest offering from JP is, I think, perhaps one caused by the pacing on the album.

It is, after all, very very long, with some considerable mid-paced / ballad-y numbers. My advice is to edit it down to a slimmer, meaner & faster 80mins (single disc) version.

Select the following running order on to a CDR, or ipod playlist etc, and hear a much more familiar, agressive & traditional metal-esq  sounding release.

5.   Sands of Time
6.   Pestilence & plague
7.   Death
8.   Peace
9.   Conquest

Now, I know there will be many out there screaming (for vengeance) that this is sacriledge & not how the album is intended to be listened to, but, then they are already the converted, and what we are trying to do here is get as many people on board as possible. I myself, do find the whole double disc a rather flabby affair, I'm sorry to say, and do actually prefer the above edited version which I find is a far pacier & exciting listen - much more what I was hoping for.

I see it as something similar to the cinema release versions of the Lord Of The Rings films, as opposed to their much weightier Director's cut DVDs.

As for the missing tracks, well once you've grown to love the above you can re-incert them later, or visit them individually & see how they shape up having acclimatized yourself to this new world of the metal gods.

Not to sound uncaring of others opinions, because that's not my intention. What's important to me is what I think of Nostradamus. However, if people are judging it by their cheap speakers attached to their computers(as I was at first), or an ipod...then they're not really hearing Nostradamus in all its glory. There's a whole wall of powerful sounds layered over one another that one cannot appreciate unless it's on a good sterio. I can't control others opinions, but I can sudgest they at least give it the listening it truelly deserves.


I fear my opinion wouldn't matter to them. I'm a fan who happens to think Turbo was one of their best albums, and Painkiller was one of my least favorites. Sounds assbackwards from most peoples opinions.

Just as we have all been saying for the past few weeks, it is not like anything Priest has ever done and I think that speaks volumes. Those that were looking for another Painkiller or even an AoR II are going to be disappointed.

The album is bold. It is daring. It is fresh. I like it and I understand that there are those that agree and those that do not. All the better. It really makes no difference to me because I think that Priest has really "hit the nail" with this one. A wonderful job.

LMAO!  Ahhhh...DC my friend, you kill me.  I knew you'd come around soon.  Nostradamus is truly a masterfull piece of songwriting and musicianship!  This isn't just a heavy metal concept album...it is I dare say, something that is all encompassing!!!  For those of you lurking in the shadows of the Cyber World and not feeling the pure greatness of Priest's latest release, it's like the band and everyone else here has said:  keep an open mind, and listen to the damn thing 2 or 3 times before passing judgement on it!!!  There is so much stuff going on in each of the songs, that listening to it via the web won't do it justice, and if you have crappy sound on your computer, you'll be irked too.  I say put it in your best CD player (if it's in your car, then go cruising!), relax in your favorite chair and let the story Priest is conveying with this disc take you on a journey (anyone got some LSD?) through the life of Nostradamus.

Forgive me Judas Priest for I have sinned!  What a fool I was to judge this by my pc speakers, and through the "leak" on the VH1 website...which does this CD no justice! I opened my mouth too soon, and placed my size 11 foot right into it. I now recant all previous messages that were negative about this CD, and Rob's voice. 

I have now heard Nostradamus 3 times back-to-back on my sterio with headphones. I give it a whopping 10 out of 10!!!! It's an absolutely genious total package of everything Judas Priest, and Nostradame was, and will be forever more!!!
It's like a fine play telling the life of Nostradamus in a way I've never heard before. The intensity of it all as a whole has overwhelmed me, and the most ingenious part of it, was the build-up in the music from song to song 'til it reached it's climax which is the song Nostradamus which absolutely shreds!!!! Rob's still got his voice as well.

I cannot pick a favorite song from this CD, as to me it is one long song, but it obviously grew on me very quickly, and I totally am loving it!!!!

I'll rant on more about it on other threads, but it's late, and I am heading to bed with my ears ringing from the day-long musical journey that is Nostradamus.

Final note, and perhaps the most beautifully written song I've ever read/heard...Did anyone see Lost Love coming from our beloved Judas Priest? Absolutely astonishing!!!!

Judas Priest's 'Nostradamus' Mini Review

Judas Priest's first foray into the 'concept' album has proven to be a strong success. Unlike some bands out there who get stuck into formulas and stay grounded without progression, Judas Priest have never been afraid to experiment and broaden their horizons, doing exactly what they wanted to do. Its predecessor 'Angel of Retribution' proved to be a welcome, if safe comeback with Rob Halford on vocals. A certainly solid album, with some outstanding tracks such as 'Hellrider' and 'Judas Rising' but the newly reformed band seemed to be only teasing us, allowing us to glimpse what the Priest is capable of in this day and age, and thus we get, Nostradamus.

I have listened to all tracks and found each one completely entertaining and layered with lots of depth. Three years have past since the release of Angel of Retribution, meaning the band had a lot of anticipation and excepectation from its loyal fan base. Being a long-term, die hard Priest fan, I feel the album has surpassed my expectations. The orchestra/keyboard elements in the new album only serve to enhance the storytelling. The band are shining. The opening instrumental, 'Dawn of Creation' is an ominous build-up to the atmopsheric, but absolutely rocking song, 'Prophecy' with Halford bellowing 'I Am Nostradamus.' Speaking of Halford, I feel this is one of his best vocal performances in recent times. He's adapted his voice to the concept and progressed even further musically in his career, just like the band have. Rob shows here how operatic he can stretch his voice and the absolute beauty he holds on such tracks such as 'Hope' and 'Awakening.'

Nostradamus, despite having orchestral/keyboard arrangements utilized heavily in the tracks, somehow manages to capture the pure, hard rock spirit of the band from years ago, with many of the songs sounding like a distinct bridge between rock and heavy metal; that is, if anyone believes such a genre exists. There are many people out there who just believe its all pure Rock N' Roll. And certainly having based a concept album on the prophet is both a strange and exciting idea, which I guess kept my expectations somewhat 'in the dark' as I had no idea what to expect. But it works. The story works. The lyrics work. The music works. It's definitely a masterpiece and an album that will be remembered in years to come.

In conclusion, Nostradamus is one of the best heavy metal albums to come out this year, showcasing a legendary band who are not afraid to take risks and do what THEY want to do. I applaud them for that and I cannot wait to see the album in FULL LIVE CONCERT!

I was fairly fluent in French at one time but you know what they say, if you don't use it, you lose it.  Have also always had a fascination with Russian and even managed to learn their alphabet and a few choice phrases.  Should have obviously learned Spanish as their population out here rises by the day (at risk of sounding politically correct) but actually I think having 2 languages and the ability to speak them fluently is a tremendous advantage.....all I really know is a handful of cuss words a Mexican friend of mine taught me in high school, that and the universal question, "Donde esta el bano, por favor?"

I never took French but I know it when I read it. I know parts of many languages and am master of none. I used to know spanish well enough to go to Mexico unescorted, but these days its comes and goes...I know more Greek than anything. especially the ultimate cuss out LOL!

The one that is really grabbing me right now is Track 8 on Disc 2.....sorry, not sure of the title......it's just a little short instrumental piece with some almost 70-ish sounding guitar playing that blends into an electric-acoustic prelude.......I have been listening to this over and over.......very un-Priest but just a cool, cool bit of music.....awesome!!!

Glad to see someone shares my opinion. 
I love the album, I would have bought the discs if I still had an intact stereo system but sadly I don't and need to find some components that don't cost a fortune and still give good sound.
The Priest have never compromised in their willingness to push forward and that is what makes them the true "Masters of Metal". So many bands sound like they just regurgitate the same sound over and over again. I don't feel that with Priest.
BTW you can drive to Orlando Florida from Virginia  on the Remasters and still have one unplayed disc. LOL.

So I don't just repeat myself, you can read what I think of the new album (yes, I am THAT old, I said album) in the Introduction section.  This is a GREAT listen and the more I listen to it the more I like it.   I knew it wasn't going to be a British Steel sequel and in fact am glad it's unlike anything Priest has ever done before.  Isn't that the whole point anyway?

I am amazed at just how talented these guys are, and in some ways I think Nostradamus demonstrates Rob, Glenn, KK, Ian and Scott's musical talents better than anything they have ever done.  Some of the guitar melodies are beautiful, yes I know that's a taboo word in our hardcore world of heavy metal heathens, but I think the CD balances itself out really well.  There's plenty of hard stuff to keep us happy like "Visions," "War," "Persecution," etc.  

I love this.  Priest is back.  It's Christmas morning on Planet Metal!!!

I am sorry for the ADD, instant gratification generation. They are so used to being instantly downloaded with information that they don't have the time to dedicate to this masterpiece of music. Maybe when the videos roll out the whole album for them to visually compensate, because they have not much imagination, they may appreciate it.

Relax, slow down, put head phones on, dim the lights, look at the book, and enjoy the story.
I need to listen to it about a million times more but it's an astounding metal opera!

I have not been able to stop listening to this new album.  And not only that but I have to listen to it from start to finish every time.  It's such a massive production and the more I listen the more I hear the brilliance coming out!  What else can you say? I mean, Rob singing in Italian and then finishing off in French!  Just Brilliant! They threw their hearts and souls into this and it comes out in every note sung and played.

Well I gave it my first listen just a few minutes ago, need I say it's a massive effort, as if it weren't already mentioned? It's huge, and aboveall overwhelming, but in a good way. I initally listened to those previews with the expectation that it would be like Painkiller or Screaming, but you really can't look at it like that. This is Priest at a new level, exceeding of all expectations and limits. Does it bother me that there are only about 3 fast songs on this album? Does it bother me that Rob Halford can't sing the high notes like he used to? Absolutely not. If anything this is refreshing to hear; there is not one shred of music on here that alludes to their glory days of leather, chains, and fantasy characters (like the albums past). Not that this is bad, but if that's the type of Priest what you want then spin British Steel or Defenders. But if you want something more, then prepare to be blown away with the new album. Nostradamus more than delivers, and I can see this being my favorite album by them. I give it a 9.5 out of 10 (as I've never given an album a 10/10, but this is damn close).

okay I have had time to soak up the nostradamus suds.............. And I will say yes it is different, from old priest.. I expected it to be.. Surprised.. NO.. 
They can definatley still rock out..  The title track Nostradamus is heavy.. although I do like the other tracks.. Alone prob my fav.. Visions I thought was good too. 
Every song tells a story.. which is different from what most bands are producing right now.. And what the general public is listening too..   I was hoping for a little bit of the old priest to come through.. kind of like how the album Operation Mind Crime was.. a story..  But very heavy..   All In All Iam enjoying the cd.. And would go see them regardless..  They have been a solid band with a very great History.. All Hail the Mighty Priest... I give them alot of credit for producing, and changing thier  style
to do something they have wanted to try.. after all they have given us fans almost 35 years of what we have wanted.. And I support them.. Thier own history proves they are and will be one~ of if not the best heavy metal rockin bands that have exsisted.

Wow,who would of thought?  Again,to anyone........I'm not 'bashing" the band here.....I'm just giving my opinion and I do give hails to Judas Priest for thier 100% effort on Nostradamus,but I do not think it is one of thier best albums in thier 16 album career. I bought Fight War of Words on cassette when it first came out, and later replaced it on CD of course. I also own Halford's Ressurrection, Crucible, and Live Insurrection. I'm not all about fast blow your eardrums out heavy metal. It's just that Nostradamus is way off the mark from what I expected from JP. I'm expecting my copy in the mail today, and as I've said on anther thread...I'll keep it in my collection, and give it it's fair chance to grow on me. None-the-less there will be no gaps in my JP collection with Rob as their singer. I've got some back-catalog catching up to do with his solo career, so I'll focus there until their (JP's) next CD comes out.

Legendary metal heads Judas Priest, has come a long way starting off the whole trend of the leather jacket scene with motorcycle riding babes and rocking guitar riffs and solos tearing us to pieces. There career has taken them around the world more than once, touring and selling out shows and millions of albums world wide. What keeps the blood rushing to their head not wanting to give up? I’ll tell you what. The power and inspiration they receive from their loyal and beloved fans. Judas Priest has brought great music to our ears and will not stop until they are good and ready.

Judas Priest’s forthcoming album "Nostradamus," is set during the 16th century prophet of the same name. This being the band's first concept album it was pushed back several times. Having to have come out late 2006 got turned into 2007 but the offical release date is June 17th 2008. During an interview, on and off guitarist K.K. Downing revealed that 18 tracks had been recorded back in 2007. Not a single track was going to be put aside. The band wanted to aim for releasing a double disc CD or triple vinyl whenever it was to be released.

"Nostradamus," offers symphonic orchestrations, a lot of keyboard useage and a choir unlike any the band has used before. Overall this album was developed over a long period of time and it paid off to have waited this long. The first disc contains 13 tracks of heart pulsing guitar riffs and drum tones throughout. Some tracks worth listening to would have to include: "The Four Horsemen," to start off with. This title alone brings a reminder of what it stands for. This title represents the thunderous force that has terrorizes our world. The music behind it is just as forcing as the real thing. "Sands of Time," is another out-going track that takes you away with it's keyboarding styles that puts you at ease with its backdrop of guitars and bass solos coming in and out keeping in step with the drumming and vocals. Tracks nine and ten “Peace,” and “Death,” go hand in hand because one talks about wanting peace on earth, while the other wants to destroy earth and kill everything in sight. The first disc is by far a great introduction but one standout track has to be,"Lost Love."  This mellow love song brings tears to your eyes having your heart melt into your hands, bringing nothing but happiness drawing upon your face.

The second disc gives us 10 tracks continuing the story of "Nostradamus," having several tracks that are very ear catching. "Solitude," rips off your head getting the beat underway and keeps your head moshing with it's fast guitar riffs and keyboards pounding out as much as they can give. "Shadows in the Flame," is a much darker track pulling you into the dark pit of fire and not letting go. The vocals, guitars, bass, and drums all come together on this dark riff of blaze and glory. Last but not lease has to be the title track, which indeed completes this album showing us exactly what Judas Priest is made of and they have done their job well.

I really enjoy this album because of its creativity.  Judas Priest rocks because they aren't afraid to try something different.  If I wanted the same old comfortable shoe, I'd pick up some CD by IronMaiden/Slayer/Ozzy.  Priest takes risks with their sound and I'm a gamblin man too.  Violins.. synth.. Halford singing in Italian.. mandolin.. hell yea ! ! ! 

And now this posession..

Becomes my one obsession....

It's alright, DemonCat. I'm not too thrilled about this new release either. It's not that bad, but I think it's too long and a bit boring. Maybe this is the right moment to check out some of Halford's solo albums? These albums might give you more satisfaction than Judas Priest's "Nostradamus". Let's take Fight's debut album "War Of Words" for example. This album truly is a forgotten gem. "War of words" is definitely the way to go if you're looking for something heavier and more dangerous.



Hearing songs like "Nailed To The Gun", "Into To Pit" and "Kill It" for the first time I thought to myself "Wow, the Metal God is really pissed off!" This album is heavy for sure. But not every song is heavy, there are also a few slower songs on this disc. The awesome "For All Eternity" for example. Halford's vocals will kick your ass, Scott Travis is an animal on the drum kit and the other musicians are very talented as well. I payed a whoppin' seven bucks for this disc! LOL! Still sealed! Quite a bargain!

Okay let me apologize for not replying until now.  I tend to have a life outside of work and Priest fandom like the rest of my metal brethern do (I bet that shocks you, doesn't it, Rob?).

Very true, HB.  Rob, it's mind-boggling to myself and plenty of others for you to say that you basically hate every release that Priest has put out starting with Turbo through now (not sure why you don't include Painkiller in that as well, since they're using processors there as well too).  As for not wanting to make people upset...what did you expect to happen when you go and bash the band's effort on their own website!?!?  You didn't think about that, did you?  

As for you not knowing anything about DF's condition, that's fine.  It took me a while to figure out what the deal was myself, but don't you bother reading or perusing the other threads?  I don't get that, but to each their own.

To be perfectly honest, Rob...I won't listen to either Jugulator or Demolition b/c I'm not a fan of Ripper Owens.  However, I think HB put it best when he said that he doesn't understand how everything from Turbo through AOR sound alike to you.  I'm not a musician, but even my untrained ear can easily discern that none of those CD's sound similiar.

I think people were mostly shocked because you lacked the elements to a good review, though I respect your opinion and think nothing of it.
I believe whoever listens to Nostradamus will find the flaws and its many good moments by themselves.
You must agree, though, that the stage show this time around is awesome. Actually, it is phenomenal. The lighting and the props are very well done. The use of the black, red and gold compliments the band very well. I can only expect great sound quality when they've put so much care this time into providing a visual feast to the audience, don't you think so?
The band members look fresh in their well made outfits and the silver cape that Rob Halford wears on stage is theatrically a good move. The photos out there so far make this tour look like it's worth travelling to see, though the album cover itself is a load of tripe. Graphic designers don't know the... from the... and the logo should not have been changed. Some things the fans love enough to wish to see them unchanged. The golden JP symbols on the stage make up for this faux-pas. I'm expecting a great tour and I look forward to reading the reviews posted on the web.

Rob, you have every right to your opinion, but you cant expect to go to a Judas Priest website and say you hate them and not annoy people.  your saying you were defending yourself, well, darth, DF and others were defending a band they love.

I dont quite understand how turbo, RID, Jug, Demo and Angel all sound similar to you, but thats your thing.  I havent listened to this yet, because I want the Actual CD so I can hear it on decent speakers.  either I like it or I dont, but either way, I like priest.

OK,for the record here. I just finished "Nostraamus" in it`s entirety. I like it. Not exactly what I expected,but I like it . Had the volume way up so I got the full on assault of power presented. If anyone gave it a listen down low,try again and turn it up!!
As for disgruntled fans here,perhaps it`s time to move on,no offense is meant by that. It`s just time that`s all.

Alright Darth first let’s go back to the beginning and why we are here in the first place. I gave my honest opinion about the cd, I didn't call anyone names, I didn't say you was stupid if you like this cd, I didn't bring anyone in to it. I've never talked to you or Deep before in my life, I have no idea who you are, I don't know what kind of person you are, and I've never read any of your post. So then I get attacked by the two of you and neither of you know anything about me, yet you call me names and tell lies and half truths about me, even up to today you called me and "arrogant S.O.B" and it's completely unwarranted as I have been defending myself from your attacks since your first response to me.

As for my "HONEST" review of the cd, I held nothing back because I'm tired of the same old crap this band has been putting out since Turbo with the exception of Painkiller. I said I hate Judas Priest because at this point I do; I hate them because they make it hard for me to continue to be fan. I'm sick of the thrash metal cd’s and songs, I'm sick of the down right crappy music, see Ram It Down. I know every cd can't be Screaming for Vengeance, but damn dude this crap they've been putting out is getting old. I'm tired of hearing Glenn play solo's that all sound the same, they're all fast, noodley, and void of any feeling. I hate that they use processors instead of real amps, their guitar tone is nothing like it used to be, in fact its worse then it's ever been. I hate it when I hear or read an interview and they say things like "The Metal Community," "The Kids," I'm forty freakin' years old I'm not a kid, and I don’t think of music in terms of metal being this separate entity that people who like Judas Priest listen to nothing but heavy metal.  I have a very diverse taste in music and I don’t want to be included in this alternative universe. This isn’t the 80’s when Heavy Metal was considered the devils music, heck it has its own category at the music awards thanks to Metallica.

Then they come out with this conceptual album, if you like it that's fine with me but I don't. I don't want to like it, I want to listen to music with feeling and energy, fist pumping head banging actual music, not some freakin' "Metal Opera" that I have to listen to in the dark 3 or 4 times by myself before I "Understand" what they're trying to do. When I was 15 I probably would have liked this cd, I would have thought of it as some mysterious puzzle that I had to decode. That's why I used the phrase, "Mush Brained Adolescences," at 15 that's pretty much what you are. Being 40 years old I look at it as a piece of crap and a waste of time. Who gives a freak about Nostradamus anyway? Why in the heck is it about Nostradamus? He's as irrelevant as the cold war.

I was listening to Halfords solo stuff, War of Words, and Resurrection, those 2 cd's are better then anything Priest has put out since Defenders of the Faith, with the exception of Painkiller. Crucible is another great cd, I listen to that stuff and then I hear Nostradamus and I ask myself, why am I still a fan of this band? I've been listening to Priest since 1978 when I first heard Green Manalishi, but since Turbo came out I have been less and less a fan. When Painkiller came out it was a breath of fresh air, I thought to myself finally a cd that I'm proud to listen to, then the whole thing with Rob leaving the band and the way in which they handled it, Glenn calling Tim the best singer Priest ever had etc. etc. it was a joke. I'm sure you've heard a band call "Airborne," those guys are kicking ass, they're the complete package. Their songs kick ass, their actually entertaining to listen to, and its actual music. Their guitar tone is to die for, the guitar work is so bluesy and soulful, it's the kind of music you have on while your hanging with your buddies and or your girl while your drinking a couple of beers shooting some pool or whatever. Nostradamus doesn't offer that so I'm not interested in Nostradamus.

As for Deep and his physical condition, like I said I don't know they guy, I've never read any of his post, I don't know what kind of person he is. But like with you I have been defending myself since he first responded to my post. I never attacked him he attacks me by calling me names and suggesting to other people that my opinion was irrelevant because he didn't agree with it. I don't wish bad things on anyone and I'll keep him in my prayers, but being disabled isn't a free pass, I won't hesitate to defend myself.

MELTDOWN, my friend at work burned this CD for me and I did listen to the entire CD,and I have to say that I fully 100% agree with you and your post. I do not like this CD with the exceptions of the song "Nostradamus" and a couple of intros....Visions was "ok" ...but the over all opinion of mine....I just do not care for it but it is well put together,I give them full credit,its just that you can't please everybody...some people out there do not like Angel Of Retribution....but to me with the exception of Lockness the only song I don't care for off the album...the other 9 tracks are classic Judas Priest....

You could even throw out Revolution if ya wanted and still have 8 classic Judas Priest songs that make an albums worth....Judas Rising,Deal With The Devil,Worth Fighting For,Demonizer,Wheels Of Fire,Angel,Eulogy and Hellrider ..........Angel Of Retribution I think is far better work than Nostradamus...but I am not going to bash the album to bits,I've liked this band to long to do that,and this is not like Turbo....I think Deep Freeze said it best when he said that he has never been dissappointed with thier effort that the give. I do think that this new album is done with the bands full 100% and not some half assed effort,no...this is thier heart and soul poured into this and I hail them for that alone.I am just into the traditional british heavy metal sound....some of this reminds me of new "Blind Guardian" from Germany....with the synths everywhere......its just the "song writting" that I don't care for...not the pace of these songs....... I as well wanted the whole album to be more in a Painkiller/Angel Of Retribution/Screaming For Vengeance with a touch of Sad Wings Of Destiny.  

Judas Priest will always be my all time favorite band from 1980 when I first heard Breaking The Law up till now and beyond.That will never change even if the band stays into this new style...so be it.
