Hmm. Looking back, I suppose that was rather selfish of me. Besides, one looked like a dead ringer for Paula Abdul and we all know that the "friend" is never as good....HAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!! (My apologies, ladies).
Quite frankly, I believe I panicked when they started suggesting a ,umm, err.."get together" after the show.....I could just feeeeeeel the Princess glaring from 2000 miles aways. In geographical terms, a "knob" is defined as a prominant mountain or hill.
In my use, look in the mirror, ya knob! Word defined! BWWAHAAAAAA!
-----------------
It was originally known as the Pine Knob Music Theatre, due to its proximity to the nearby Pine Knob ski area and golf course. The name was changed in 2002 when DTE Energy (the parent company of Detroit Edison) purchased the naming rights to the amphitheater in a ten-year, $10 million deal. Despite this change, many people still continue to call the venue "Pine Knob", "The Knob", or "The Hill".
Annually, the music theater has consistently ranked among the top-selling outdoor concert venues in the nation. Canadian Power-Trio Rush have regarded the ampitheater as one of their favorite venues to play in the U.S.A.

Gotta go on a rainy day! Still wouldn't have seen them as we were too close to the front. It IS DAMN funny. Like Pam and I said, when someone trips over their own feet or something, they invariably look back as if to accuse the ground for their drunken clumsiness! LOL!!!
I'll thank you to know I live in BFE TENNESSEE, not Kentucky!
Bud, I was AT that Queensryche / JP concert at THE KNOB! Why didn't you come over to say "hello?" HAAAA!!

The Princess and I saw the Retribution tour in southern Cal. Queensryche were GREAT! Love Tate! When we saw the BS tour here in Vegas, Coverdale came out and did an admirable job but was clearly not on his game. He kept going behind a screen and drinking something (we were 9th row and I could see him clearly). In Detroit a month earlier, he was great. I think he canceled not long after the Vegas gig due to those throat issues you mentioned. Shame because I still like Whitesnake and Coverdale is a legend. Great crowd, size and response. Had first timers next to me that were loving it. That made me feel good. Coverdale

From source current the computer activates the DC spin up motor. This causes the impeller advancer to rotate, simultaneously the computer feeds current from the battery to the electrical motor on the impeller advancer..this rotates the rotor that is attached to the core axle the core axle is the input to the 1: 10 ratio gear set. the output of the 1: 10 gear set is the tube axle. The tube axle is the center of the transonic dynamo. When the system reaches a given rpm the computer switches off the current feed from the battery and activates the battery charger. The rotational sustainment current is then derived from the transonic dynamo and feeds the impeller advancer. The air velocity produced by the transonic dynamo impales the impeller advancer then enters the wind return tubes. The wind then re enters the system impaling the prime impeller. This reduces the torque required to sustain perpetual rotation and is why this system works. The core axle extends thru the prime impeller and attaches to the final generator. As an estimate I expect this engine to produce internal wind speeds in excess of 300 mph and it could be constructed to exceed mach speeds.

My computer skills are still in their infantsy. maybe i should turn the music down and stop trying to type with my forehead.HA HA! How do you keep from getting speeding tickets while listening to Screaming for vengence? This song has never lost its power over me. When i first heard this song it introduced me to a sound that i never knew i was missing. I wanted more! Faster, harder, I still cant only play that song ONCE! And it started a whole new evolutionary step in my taste of music. For me back then this was a ground breaking new power tune. that left me only wanting more! |

Welcome Pan! I believe it is because after Priest left Gull records, Gull kept the rights to Rocka Rolla and Sad Wings. Gull then tried to make more money off Priest by repackaging those 2 albums in different ways, Hero Hero being one of those releases. I've heard Glenn complain about it many times in interviews that the kids were getting ripped off, thinking they were getting something new. I don't believe it was an album that Priest ever OK'd. What's up Judas Priest!
It's a pleasure to have signed up and be a part of Priest nation. Just want to say thanks for being a big part of my summer. I had the pleasure to see you and Whitesnake live in Mansfield, Mass in the front row on the right side of the stage. Both Rob and DC both gave me high fives, and it was lots of fun. I also was able to see the last night of the tour in Gilford, Nh and again Priest was awesome. I wish Whitesnake/DC would had been ok to complete an awesome tour. Thanks again Rob/Judas Priest for an awesome concert and see you guys again on the road! |

This is so sad ...
Others knew him far better. From what I saw, he knew the craft and did it well! He had to have had an amazing ear and sense of surroundings. To know he was in touch and in tune with the Universe explains a lot! My deepest sympathies and peaceful thoughts extend to his family and friends May comfort return to their lives soon

We at FRIENDSOFGUNGI.com are sad to announce that Gordon "Gungi" Paterson passed away today after a 3 year battle with cancer. With degrees of sadness, with a smile that comes automatically to our faces whenever we think of him, and with relief that his long suffering has finally ended, we want to thank everyone that has come to this site, that has passed on their well wishes and good vibes and that has contributed so greatly to his battle and to the future of his surviving family.
The feelings that have been expressed through the guestbook pages, the emails & phone calls, the postings online at various sites all made such a huge difference to gungi during his fight - it gave him strength through encouragement and kept him going as long as he could - and he definitely takes all of those thoughts and feelings with him..
Gungi and his family always dedicated themselves to the holistic and spiritual world - he was in touch and tune with the earth, the sky - the universe as a whole. According to Gungi's wishes there will be no singular memorial with family and friends in seattle - as he and Bridget felt that they went through all of this over the past couple of months - the whole summer has been a wake / rememberance where Gungi was able to take phone calls, emails, postings, etc.. and we were all able to celebrate his life with him.
Instead of a singular memorial, gungi will be cremated and his ashes will be spread over St. Andrews in Scotland - his wishes were to be back in his beloved Scotland where his family is from.
We will take some time and will figure out a good place and time where as to have a fitting tribute / memorial to the man that we all love and respect. We will post it and distribute it as soon as we can.
As we did all through this process we continue to encourage people to write into the site, to post their feelings in the guest book - most of all to please make contributions to the paypal account of the FRIENDSOFGUNGI.com website because the family is in need now more than ever; we will also continue to process the sale of pieces of equipment and memorabilia that Gungi wanted to sell to raise funds for the family, etc..
Thank you again for everything that everyone has done - we are all thinking about him today and we all should keep thinking about him and what he meant to all of us.

AWESOME story TJ! And welcome to the board!  [Show/Hide Quoted Message] (Quoting Message by tjlambert from Saturday, September 26, 2009 1:36:41 PM) |  | tjlambert wrote: | | Hello all.... New here, just wanted to share some JP memories with you all;
Ok, just a JP memory for you all….. It’s the eighties, and I’m with the US Army in Berlin, Germany. Just as I’m heading out to “The Field” for three weeks, I get word that Priest will be in Southern Germany when I get back.
That was the longest three weeks in my life!!
I hooked up with an Army buddy, Dirk, and we rent a VW Golf to drive down the night before. Dumb-asses that we were, we didn’t have enough money for tickets, tee shirts, AND a room for the night, so we just tried to sleep in the car. Damn, it was freaking cold that night!!!!
We got woke up by a cop telling us we couldn’t sleep there together like that!! To which I responded “Like what?!” He just laughed, and said “Never mind”.
We get to the show, and I’m drinking like a fool, (OMG I just Love German beer) waaaaaaaayyyy too much, it turns out;
We hatch a plan to get back stage by pinning our ID cards to our jackets and just walking confidently past security.
It worked, but we were so damn drunk we ended up going right out the back stage door, which promptly locked behind us…. Shit!! Now what do we do?
We found a trailer, or out-building (I was too drunk to remember), and walk right up the stairs. I’m looking down so as to not trip on the stairs, and run smack into this tall guys chest - wham! He grabs my shoulders so I don’t fall back down the stairs, and says “Sorry mate.” And he and some other dudes in long leather coats walk down the steps and into the arena.
Dirk starts yelling “That was Halford you ass hole!! You ran right into him!!”
Shit!!!!!!!
I don’t get drunk anymore - Seriously.
Anyhow, after some argument with management, they let us back in. But we lost our front row mash-pit spots. I’m not very tall (5’7”) so to see, I jumped up on an electrical switch box that was on the wall. It was sweet, as that put me right in the line of the lights that fanned out to the crowd. So when Rob said “Heres one from the Sad Wings of Destiny album…. You may remember that one.” I just screamed out as loud as I could, as that is one of my all-time, all-genre favorite albums. Rob heard me over the crowd, and saw me in the lights, he pointed at me and said “You remember!!!”
I know I was just one dude in a hundred billion dudes he’s seen over the years in concert, but it lives on with me as a really cool moment. The cherry on what could have been a really bad Priest experience.
Thanks JP & RH

Really, really like Baptizm of Fire it is growing on me.
Not as crazy about Edge of the World but it is 'ok'.

I was shopping at a chain Department store called "Gordman's" , while checking out T's, I noticed black hoodies on display manufactured by FOX apparel using their fox faced logo blended with the Judas Priest British Steel artwork on the upper left chest area. I thought, wow-probably didn't get permission from the band to use their artwork from 30 years ago for their new line of hoodies! If anyone with higher respect points can somehow get this message to anyone in their offices regarding this, I'm sure they would appreciate it! Thanks, Billy |

Would love to see Judas Priest again in Toronto, Canada. My 18yr old just loves JP as much as I do and I even have my husband hooked! |

Whitesnake has left the Tour......
I just got an automated message from ticketmaster that said that Whitesnake will no longer be on the show with Judas Priest at the Saturday Night Show in St Augustine. Then I checked Ticket master.com and saw that Whitesnake is off every show except 1. My friend that saw them in Red Rocks said Whitesnake only played 4 songs and left the stage.
The Show will go on with out them. They were offering Refunds is we wanted them.
I can't wait for Saturdays Show!!!!!!! |
