Not the person that won but it is the event. EXTREMELY difficult to maintain that speed plus hit the two jumps. It was awe-inspiring. Makes me wish the month were over so I can hit the slopes! Perhaps I'll break out my boots and go outside and stomp around in the snow. LOL!

She and MG seem to be jealous of anyone and everyone that has true friends here. In a way it is really sad. But yes, I agree, definitely a bunny boiler type! Total nut jobs if you ask me. They do exactly the same things that they criticize everyone else for and I find it quite amusing that they don't even recognize that they are in fact the very thing they say they hate!! Calling people fakes, leaving and coming back time and time again. They are angry because the first time they left after calling us all losers, no one cared and no one begged them to stay like we do with other people on the board. When they came back, no one welcomed them back saying they missed them. It's all petty jealousy. Some people just never seem to grow up.
I hope you enjoy your Valentine's Day and don't let those two bother you. [Show/Hide Quoted Message](Quoting Message by Angelic Storm from Sunday, February 14, 2010 2:59:51 PM)

I have refrained from getting involved in this nonsense until Steve told me he recieved a PM from her this morning mentioning me. What the heck? Ive never even spoken to the crazy witch, and yet she's involving me in her twisted games. C'mon then ''Bathory' whatever, why are you talking about me for when I don't even know you? By the way, are her and MG the same person? That wouldn't surprise me in the slightest.
Seeing her ''Valentines Day'' thread just confirms what I've always thought, about this lunatic. Although even Im a little shocked at how bonkers she actually is. She's crazy, loop da loop and no mistake! It's funny how she makes fun of Steve for repeatedly saying he's leaving, when going by what others are saying here, she's done that a few times herself. Steve did say I shouldn't get publicly involved in this, as she'll only start targeting me if I do. But she's already talking about me, even though I don't know her, so Im already involved whether I like it or not.
He did say she's probably mentioning me out of jealousy, and thats the crazy thing, what the heck is there to be jealous of? It's not like we're going out or anything. Not that it would be any of her buisiness even if we were. She's not even with him, for god's sake! He already has a wife, and it's not her! She sounds like a total bunny boiler, and a complete nutter.
Oh, and thanks for the add. :)

It used to show Central time. If it were midnight there, it would be 10 pm on the West Coast.
So now the Noticeboard is now on Pacific time. Interesting... [Show/Hide Quoted Message](Quoting Message by spapad from Friday, February 12, 2010 5:06:35 PM)

Hmmm....let's see what time it is here! (Actually 7:48 or so)

Indeed. Usually my "corrections" are merely to poke fun. Generally, I understand that not everyone writes the way I do, nor should I expect everyone here to do so. I enjoy discussions regarding English composition and origin and whatnot simply because it is a passion of mine. You would be amazed at the number of members on this site that have improved their writing simply by engaging me. I do not mean that as a boast! I have had more than one PM saying so and I have noticed the change when I see certain posts. Honestly, I think that is marvelous.
Spelling, punctuation, vocabulary, sentence structure and all the rest mean something to me. That is what one might call a "quirk". Obviously, it is not something that is common! As far as this place, I use English as a tool for fun AND for educating. There is no rule that says people here have to listen to me but, apparently, many do. Good on them! Why anyone would not wish to improve the way they write and speak is a true mystery to me. Self-improvement is vital for development. Of course, I do understand that there are those that do not care for THAT, either! HA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I am appalled at what passes for communication these days. Perhaps that is my age showing but I think it is just disgusting to aspire to speak like an idiot yet, so many do. Dialect notwithstanding, people (especially the young) seem to take some sort of misguided pride in speaking as if they never left the fifth grade. I suppose it is as you said...individual taste. Or, as I believe, no taste at all.

Well, I guess it's all a question of individual taste and priorities, and the more members there are, the more variation there'l be. Some members write stuff that interests me, and some not - and I'm OK with that. Accordingly I can't expect that my stuff is interesting to all members.

Two questions for you Deep Freeze: 1) Are you an english professor? (You're extremely knowledgeable and articulate! I like it.) 2) If someone says "Where are you at?" Are they dangling a participle? Ah Nicky, my friend. Here, at last, we must part ways of the mind! While in today's view it is considered "acceptable" to use a conjunction to begin a sentence, grammatically it is NOT encouraged. Beginning a sentence with a conjunction tends to lead to one of two things; run-on sentences or short, choppy ones. It is also terribly informal. Now, if your intent is to address an issue with informality, it is acceptable and has reached the point where it is very prevalent in today's writing. The old adage, "Know thy audience" applies in this case.
In the 1600-1700's, it was perfectly acceptable to use a conjunction to begin a sentence. As language developed and people became more aware of education, vocabulary and social status, the use of conjunctions to start sentences was thought to be poor grammar and a lack of proper education. It was also believed that English was inferior to Latin and should be changed. This lead to certain "rules" that really are not necessarily rules at all, but more like positions of thought. While it was noble, in thinking, to adapt to a more "Latin based" form of language, English is actually a decendant of German and so many of the "rules" simply do not "fit" in a technical sense.
The same holds for ending a sentence with a preposition, although that one is far more important in MY mind!! Many times, words thought to be "prepositions" are really an adverbial particle (part of the verb) and, therefore, not really prepositions at all. Verbs can retain much , if not all, of their properties when used in certain contexts.
OK then! I have made my statement on the matter. What is acceptable and what is proper are far different things, depending on whom it is to which you are speaking.....HAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I really don't think it matters one way or another. I mean, "date joined" is far from important. We all know one another and how long we have been here. Perhaps it is a good thing? It might give the new members a little less pressure. I think the real focus should be on how many FRIENDS one has. THAT is an important statistic. That is really where you can judge the value of someone on this site.
I also think the number of "ignores" should be dropped. As I have said many times, ANYONE can click "ignore" but the "friends" button is a very, very selective thing.

Hey thats cool man,I've never really been into live albums either,Unleashed In The East to me is the best live album ever even if it was doctored up in the studio or whatnot,I still think its the best live album,I also like Live Evil Black Sabbath 1982 but of course Unleashed is best. But other than that,I really don't care for live albums that much.
I never was grasped by Nostradamus so I'm still in the Angel Of Retribution mode and it feels like its been 5 years since they released anything new to me,so I am really wanting a new album but I think they will be working on it later this year but then again they may do a Nostradamus tour and if that happens,a new album will not be out until 2012 I'm guessing,by then I'll bet you'll be craving some new Judas Priest! lol! Four rows of 10 reclining leather chairs, sloping floor, HUGE screen and even those fancy drapes around it just like at the movies!! HA!!!!!!!!!!! Glad the Saints won as well. I am no big fan of either team but something about Manning just rubs me the wrong way. The Saints were a "feel good" story for their state and it was a very good game, I think. Had a great time and now I am resting quietly. Hope all that watched had fun as well!!!

A message well said, but unlikely to be heeded my friend.
Congrats to the SAINTS!!! Now I don't have to pay up on the double or nothing loss I took when they beat the Vikes and I won a lunch today, thanks!! : )
I see things are running amok again, so sad!! I think, not that anyone cares, that we are ALL here because of Priest and they rule the roost here. Obviously we all don't see eye to eye at times, but WHY we are here should always be respected and put in it's proper place (honorable reasons or otherwise, we know the difference). It's nice when we all get along and play nice, but some folks just can't see past their own nose(s) to deal with what's real and enjoy each other as I think we ALL bring something unique of ourselves to this Board.

LOL cricket takes ages to play too, but there's different formats - 20/20 (each team gets 20 overs to bat, so it's fast and lots action usually), one day and test match. A test match can go for 5 days. Test matches bore me cos stuff moves slow and it's all about tactics. So I get bored with that fast LOL! I've been to a pro baseball game but I really would not suffer it again. Too long for me. Then again, I'm not the greatest sports fan there ever was. lol

It's what baseball is modelled off I believe - cricket has been around for hundreds of years, according to wikipedia it was first documented in southern England in the 16th century. It's hard to understand at first, but once you can follow it, it's pretty interesting and quite tactical. I understand cricket, but have no clue about baseball LOL!

Read your message, MG. It is insane. Your caps are all over the place. Whether someone or else has sent you messages where I badmouthed you, I'd really like to see. I seriously doubt it.
I have never once told the membership to collectively "screw off" as you have done various times. YOU have made up a number of different "characters," can barely spell (not a biggie with me) but have flipped like nobody I have ever seen. It just isn't right in the head. At last count, you have told us all to collectively "screw off" some five times. You have stated that you have a better site. Still, you are surprised at my reaction?!
